Our card to guide us for the week ahead is 5. CLOSING DOOR – COMPLETION
2023 is a year for change, creating solid foundations, and for spiritual journeying. It’s a year for personal growth, and for clarifying who you are, what you want, and why you are here.
December is a month for anchoring love and light, for rest and reflection, for moments of joyful connection, and for planning our projects and dreams for the year ahead.
5. CLOSING DOOR – COMPLETION
This week we are encouraged to pause for reflection as we look back and realise just how much we have actually accomplished this year. It wasn’t necessarily a year where we completed all the goals and dreams we identified at 2023’s beginning, but it has also been a year where we have attended to all manner of planned and unexpected events that have allowed us to solve problems, make decisions and identify issues that needed our attention – especially in relation to understanding ourselves, reconnecting to our inner hopes and desires, and learning to listen to our intuition and our hearts. It’s been a year for dealing with the things that have held us back, slowed us down or hurt us. A year of redefining ourselves, and sometimes it has also been a year of hard truths and hard decisions. Still, all of that was needed to help us become more clear, more authentic, more whole.
There is inspiration and understanding in the air this week. You will be shown projects, skills and interests that can be worked on in 2024 that can lead to greater things. It might be something to complete, a skill to master, a trip to take, a project to begin or complete, a direction forward. Be open to insights and sudden clarity around what you’d like your focus to become in the year ahead.
Celebrate too. You’ve made it. 2023 is almost at an end, and energetically we have entered the lull between the energies of 2023 finishing and the energies of 2024 kicking in. You’ll feel a softening in the energies now, so relax and take advantage of that.

Make sure you create the time and space to do something you truly love this week – something just for you. Something that makes you happy or that gives you deep satisfaction. Let that be your gift to yourself!

I did something crazy on the weekend.
After having a week of unexpected nightly IV antibiotic treatments (my doc is awesome and arranged that so I could keep working by day)and then a trip to the emergency department after a giant beetle had a hit and run incident involving my eyeball, I was feeling a little flat. So, I started packing for my holiday next year!
Ben and I are off for a cruise – our first proper ‘I won’t be working while I’m away’ holiday in too many years, and our first vacation since December 2019. We’ll be away from mid January to late February 2024, and gee we are looking forward to it.
Normally I pack at the last minute. So does Ben. I’m a tidy packer (everything is rolled and then organised by smaller travelling packs so that things are ordered and easy to find), and Ben is more of a chuck it all in and shut the lid person. This time, though, I’m starting early. I’ve already packed two completed manuscripts that need editing plus the notebooks that accompany them, a blank journal and my travelling pencil case, a supply of decent tea and my thermal mug. I also added two sarongs, and a couple of fancy dresses I will have no occasion to wear before we go. Obviously there are many more things needing to be added, but it felt good to make a start, and to finally be thinking about our trip.
This week I’m hoping to have no more medical emergencies! I’m still busy packing Etsy orders and orders for my Inner Circle, and doing the flurry of end-of-year readings and coaching that usually happens around this time. It’s wonderful to connect in with my students and clients and review the year that’s been, and to look toward the future for 2024 so that I can guide them in making the most of the opportunities and energies ahead of them.
Meanwhile I’m doing three things that are supporting me well right now.
I’m meditating daily with my carnelian palmstone. It’s like plugging in to a power pack and it has been great for pain management. I find myself reaching for my stone often during the day, and it gives me immeasurable comfort. They are our crystal of the year for 2024, and you can buy these from me in my Etsy store.
