Listening to the sound of rain

“On the fifth day, which was a Sunday, it rained very hard. I like it when it rains hard. It sounds like white noise everywhere, which is like silence but not empty.”
~ Mark Haddon

Hey, Lovelies.

I did something delicious last night.

I lay in bed and listened to the sound of rain on the roof.

Through my open windows came the glorious scent of rain, and the gentle breeze was cool and rich with moisture.

After so long a time of dust and drought it was the closest thing to heaven I could imagine.

This morning there was more rain, and it is still gently falling.

Thanks for all of your prayers, meditations and thoughts for those of us in Australia who have badly wanted this rainfall. Much more is needed, but this is a beautiful start.

Much love, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. I love rain. It is a healing kind of weather. It can also be dangerous when too much happens and flooding occurs-we’ll pray Australia gets a lot of gentle rain!
