This Post Will Be Short Because Music

After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

Aldous Huxley

Hey, Lovelies.

I’m in one of those headspaces where I just need to sit with my thoughts.

It all started with music.

Actually, it all started with Adele’s new song, Easy On Me.

There’s one lyric that hit me hard.

I was still a child

Didn’t get the chance to

Feel the world around me

Don’t you love that?

When a lyric hits you like that?

When it triggers all of that nostalgia, all those feels, all those memories you thought you’d forgotten?

All those things just waiting to be understood inside you.

Ah. Music.

How could we ever live without it?

Here’s the song I’m talking about. Enjoy.

Hugs, love, and the biggest mug of early morning coffee in my quiet morning house, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. Thank you for this share, Nicole. I hadn’t heard this song, yet, and it spoke deeply to me as well, especially in this past month when it seems really old patterns are finally dissolving. This brought the tears.

“You can’t deny how hard I have tried
I changed who I was to put you both first
    But now I give up.”

Here’s to our dear, sweet selves, now and as children. xo

  2. I’m in tears after listening to that. What I see in this song is my not really childhood and the last years dismantling mum’s house before it was sold and my leaving. Always being the responsible one, trusting others is so hard. Am starting a book about boundaries and am not sure how it fits yet..only a chapter or two in. Yet, being responsible as a kid means you miss you on that world around you. And it is learned, ingrained, and becomes a part of you…and you continue to NOT let it in. The pages of song being scattered. I saw in that my own song..loose and blowing away. Maybe a page or two might be picked up and help change someone’s life, but I’ll never see it again. Except in my memories. This is exactly what was needed when I popped on WP today. Thank you. Very much.
