Monday Oracle – 22 January 2018

“One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star. – Friedrich Nietzsche

Hello, Lovelies!

January is a month for easing ourselves into the energies of 2018, for resting and recharging, for planning and dreaming and for tuning in to what can support us in the year ahead. Keep that in mind as we look at the gifts of awareness which the oracle card 4 of Hearts brings us.

Hot on the heels of the New Moon in Capricorn, which encouraged and inspired us to look to our future and what we are willing to commit to in order to make those dreams manifest, 4 of Hearts brings the awareness this week that some of our cherished dreams need to be let go, because in our hearts we are not committed to making them happen. We’re not ever going to put in the work required, or we are no longer in synch with this old dream or ideal. Hanging on to the old dream stops us from being able to evolve and grow towards something more suited to our highest good.

4 of Hearts reminds us that when we let go of the old we make room for something new to come our way. It’s okay to grieve broken and lost dreams this week, but once your tears are dry and you’ve felt and acknowledged your emotions expect a new surge of inspiration and direction to find you in the days and weeks ahead.

This week you may also feel exhausted and like you can’t possibly go on – that things will never change, and you will never get the outcome you desire. In the old energy of years past we struggled on our own. In this new 2018 energy of connection and community know that there will be help from outside your own efforts. Friends will turn up. Helpful people will appear. New information will become available. Expect a turnaround, a breakthrough, a renewal of hope this week. And know that for some you, this week is about you becoming that hope and guidance for others!

Supportive crystals this week?

Any double-terminated crystal or cluster of crystals from the quartz family (think clear quartz, smoky, amethyst or citrine) placed in the room where you spend most of your time will amplify your ability to connect to your inner wisdom and to become inspired through new thoughts, imagination and divine guidance.  Selenite (pictured) helps you to be kind to yourself and is fantastic for gently guiding you inwards. Red Jasper is a stone for mental, physical and emotional rejuvenation. Deeply grounding, it helps you connect to your heart and your truth and encourages a sense of safety. Green Chrysoprase opens your heart and helps you find the courage to live the life that calls you.

Helpful essential oils?

This week I’m using Young Living’s Inspiration blend. Inspiration helps me to release negative thoughts and emotions, beat procrastination and enhance my spiritual connection. Its fragrance is grounding and uplifting, and I also find that instills me with a quiet optimism. Dab a drop on your Third Eye, back of neck, over your heart, wrists and the soles of your feet, inhale directly or add to your diffuser. It’s also a gorgeous addition to your bath water.

Want to make your own blend? Each of the following oils will work beautifully on their own for you this week, but they’ll also make a great combination for diffusing. Cedarwood is calming, gives a sense of security and helps us overcome self doubt. Ylang Ylang opens our hearts and is supportive when we feel anxious or overwhelmed, Frankincense calms and connects us, promoting emotional balance and Bergamot brings joy, gratitude and optimism.  To diffuse add 2 or three drops of each oil to your room or personal diffuser. You can find the oils here.

PS: Monday’s oracle card, ‘4 of Hearts’, is from the Inner Child Cards – A Fairy-Tale Tarot. I use any cards shown as a prompt for channeled messages and my own own intuitive wisdom, so my take is sometimes quite different to the meaning found in a book.

We’re on Retreat!

“In order to understand the world, one has to turn away from it on occasion.”
~ Albert Camus

Hello Lovelies!

We’re on Retreat at Sangsurya in Byron Bay for the next six days, as I teach a group of delightful souls how to reconnect with their intuition, and to use that intuition as a guiding force in their lives.

Ben has the ute nearly packed (for our second trip!) with singing bowls, journals, crystals and all manner of other delicious metaphysical tools.

Now for a cup of tea, and to remember to change out of my pyjamas before we go!

The astrological line-up right now makes this a powerful time for connecting to and working with your own intuition, so make some quiet time in the next few days, tune in, and then trust! It’s a great time for insights, breakthroughs and revelations.

I’ll be posting each day as normal, because I have lots to share about these current energies. And don’t feel too sad that you couldn’t be with us. My wonderful team are filming the whole show, and we’ll be turning it into a self-paced online study course for you next year.

In fact I have a few new courses coming up – online, home study, some awesome long retreats and some short mini-courses and events in Brisbane (including one for kids and big kids who love fairies!) – as well as our usual Soul Sanctuary retreat at Byron Bay at the end of this year. I’ll make sure to post something about them all in the next few days.

Okay, I must get on with it or I’ll never leave the farm and there will be no-one to run the Retreat.

Much love, Nicole xx

That Asking Space

“Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Always say “yes” to the present moment. What could be more futile, more insane, than to create inner resistance to what already is? what could be more insane than to oppose life itself, which is now and always now? Surrender to what is. Say “yes” to life — and see how life suddenly starts working for you rather than against you.”
~ Eckhart Tolle

I was listening to a friend talk about her business direction and her life path yesterday. She is a wise and passionate woman, and right now she’s going through a major life change. Coincidentally, or not, she’s also waking up spiritually.

One thing in particular stayed with me long after our conversation was finished. At one point, her voice trembling a little, she had spoken a sentence with a fervent conviction. That sentence was a plea and a prayer all rolled into one. It was not directed at me, or the other friends who were present. It was directed at the Universe.

I stood there, and I thought, ‘Just show me what I am supposed to do – show me why I’m here.’

I felt a thrill of recognition at my friend’s words, and I understood that her sincere asking of that question had already put events in motion that, one day soon, will show up as answers in her life. I knew that because that’s how things happened for me, when I’d asked something similar.

139546.looking-up-at-tree

Have you ever found yourself in that space? That asking space where you know you have a purpose, you feel you are here for a reason, and your brain can’t make sense of it even though your heart is urging you forward?

I have.

Many years ago, shortly before I moved to the Kimberley and experienced my psychic awakening I had felt that calling in every cell of my body, but I didn’t know what it meant. I only knew that I could no longer ignore it.

One night I stood outside in the moonlight on Fraser Island where I was then living, I looked up into the sky and I surrendered. I gave up the plans I’d been hauling around in my head because I knew they didn’t fit who I was becoming. Instead I said  ‘Use me. Use my life. Use my talents and gifts. Work through me. Whatever it is, I’ll honour that. Just show me.’

I didn’t get an answer that night. But for the first time in a long time I went to bed feeling calm and centred.

Somewhere in the cosmos came the whir of gears and the opening and closing of doors, and soon enough I found myself on a new path, with a clear purpose – it’s one I’ve been living ever since.

So if you ever find yourself in that same space, that asking space, don’t be afraid. Wait til you feel it with your whole heart, surrender yourself to that space and put your question out into the universe. Know that it will be answered. Know that once called, you will be claimed.

Bless xx

The ‘Best Path’ Magical Oracle

Image from galleryhip.com

“We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all of the power we need inside ourselves already.”
~ J.K. Rowling

Feel in need of a little guidance?

Every so often I like to create an oracle for you. The very first one I ever posted was The Healing Power of Flowers and Fairy Blessings.  We offered a selection of flowers for you to choose from, and each flower came with a message – a mini-reading if you will. It was so well received that I’ve been creating oracles for you ever since.

Today I’m so pleased to offer you another of my Magical Oracles! This time, I’ve chosen paths – paths that can symbolically connect you to the wisdom, guidance and support you might need right now.

Instructions for using today’s post

Scroll down through the following images and then let yourself come back to the one you are most drawn to.

When you have chosen your path, scroll further down for your oracle message. Trust that what you most need to know is exactly what you shall choose.

Love and Light,

Nicole  xx

Your Path’s Message ♥

Each Best Path has a message for you. I have also selected a crystal to support the message and energies of your chosen path.  You could wear or hold this crystal, pop it in your pocket, under your pillow or beside your bed. (If you’d like to know more about working with crystals click here) The Power Word is a word to remind yourself of the quality you most need and that you are strongly attracting right now.  You can turn it into your own personal mantra by saying “I choose ___________ ” (insert your Power Word). Your Magical Healing Environment is a place or activity you’ll find supportive and healing.

1.  Light Spirals There is a beautiful energy of freshness, change and growth coming into your world. It’s time to embrace playfulness, to take yourself less seriously and to engage a sense of curiosity and wonder. Cynicism and judgement won’t help you – instead choose to be open to possibility and new directions. Seek new angles and opportunities. Ideas, inspiration and Divine Guidance – that’s what this path is all about, so trust. Expect magic!  ♥ Best Crystal – CITRINE  ♥ Power Word – INSPIRED  ♥ Magical Healing Environment – Time in nature and places that inspire and uplift you. Let your soul be moved by art, music, books, movies, natural beauty and the rhythms of life.

2.  Signed Trail Honey, why do you make it so hard for yourself? There’s really no need to re-invent the wheel. Know that you have courage to spare, and plenty of fuel in the tank, but right now you’re better spent using that energy for creation the way that only you can do. There are experts, courses and well-worn paths that will get you where you want to go. OR maybe it’s time for YOU to be the leader and help other people get their feet firmly on the path you’ve been walking. Either which way the power is in the well signposted path. No need to be breaking new ground. Do what you do best, and get help for the rest.  Best Crystal – CLEAR QUARTZ  Power Word – SIMPLIFY  Magical Healing Environment – Looking to leaders and mentors, or stepping up to be one yourself. You need time for thinking, planning and creating. Find or create a space that lets you immerse yourself in mastery. Get a team together, or at least a map and some proven resources. Copy people whose systems work! No need to start from scratch.

3.  Nightfall Path  What is needed for you, more than anything right now, is time for yourself and your dreams. Pull back. Create a sacred retreat. Determine your path and your goals and then put them front and centre in your life. Your priorities before the priorities of others! You can be all things to all people later, if you still even want that… But for now make it all about you. It’s long overdue, don’t you agree? It’s not selfish – it’s self care and self development!  Best Crystal – AMETHYST   Power Word – FOCUS  Magical Healing Environment – Anywhere that supports your consolidation, healing and dreams becoming reality. Surround yourself with time, space and the things that deeply matter to you. Start to tackle the things you know you need to do to change your life. Rest deeply. Think deeply. Create. Build. Reinvent yourself.

4.  Magical Maze You’re like a giant cauldron right now – there are so many great ideas and concepts bubbling away inside you. But none of them are done yet – they all need more cooking time. It’s okay to give your dreams and projects time – time for research, time for synchronicity, time for more work, more attention to detail, time to become something bigger and stronger and brighter than they currently are. Don’t push things, don’t try to force success or results. Your moment is coming. Have a little patience and then trust in good outcomes.  Best Crystal – FLUORITE   Power Word –VISION   Magical Healing Environment – Time for relaxing, exploring and stepping back a little, or for plugging away for the joy of it, rather than as forced labour. Make time to dream. Make time to work on your dreams for the joy of the journey rather than the pressure of an outcome. Take time to reconnect to your passions, and to remember WHY you loved this idea or journey so much when you first started out. Once you reconnect to the emotion, everything else will fall into place.

5.  Forest Convergence Sometimes the veil between this life and the ones we’ve lived previously, or the ones that lie before us, becomes very thin. If we still our minds and open our hearts we can step into an energy that enlightens us, and that guides our every footfall as we break new ground in a certain aspect of our lives. A time for courage, for new horizons, endings and beginnings of great significance. A time to embrace ourselves more fully, and with deeper understanding.  Best Crystal – MOSS AGATE or RUTILATED QUARTZ   Power Word – TRANSFORMATION  Magical Healing Environment –Meditation, journalling and self work. Find activities and head space that allows room for introspection, reflection and connection. Make art, make music, make love. Write. Sing. Create. Practice ritual and magic. Speak to God, your guides and elders, your ancestors and your own wise soul. Be open to this deepening within you. A time of great power and magic.

6. ♥ Expressway It’s time for major decisions that only you can make. This path reminds you to weigh up your options carefully, to take advice if necessary, but to trust your heart and intuition in guiding you to make the best choices for yourself and your future. Research, analyse, do whatever you have to do to get clarity – but use this time to get to a place of action, where you allow decisions to be the springboard to a better life . It is not enough just to think – you are being called to make choices that create movement, that pull you out of stuckness and back into flow.  Best Crystal – BLUE LACE AGATE  ♥  Power Word – CHOICES  Magical Healing Environment – Time that allows you to weigh up your life, your goals and relationships. Take yourself away  – to a coffee shop, a motel, a shack by the beach. Work out what to embrace and what to let go. Give yourself the gift of thinking time. Speak with people who know and support you.  Celebrate your individuality and your best life. Give yourself permission to shine.

7. ♥ Golden Glade This magical path is all about healing. The Universe is inviting you to step into a place of better alignment, allowing for long-standing physical or emotional issues or major limitations and blockages to finally drop away. You will find the right healers, the right methods, the right tools, medicines, relationships and opportunities will come your way. Some of you may also have a calling to step into your own power as a healer and facilitator for the positive transformation of others. This path is so clear for you. Embrace it, and all the goodness it entails.  Best Crystal – GOLDEN CALCITE ♥ Power Word – HEALING  ♥ Magical Healing Environment – People, places, methods and products that nourish, nurture and realign you. Invest in your own well being. Choose for vitality, health and performance. Rest. Move. Learn. Grow. Discard what shrinks you or leaves you weak. Welcome the things that strengthen and energise you. Get ready for major changes and breakthroughs.

8. Well Trodden Track Your power right now comes from the heart. Heart-based relationships, heart-centred business and investment, following the calling of your heart. Owning your talents and gifts, so that you can honestly say “I am this thing” and say it with love and humility, knowing it as your truth. This is not a solitary path. It’s a path where you will attract friends and lovers, mentors and comrades. It’s a path that allows you to radiate joy and purpose. It’s a path that encourages others to join you as you dance through life. Family, community, tribe. That’s what this path is all about.  Best Crystal – ROSE QUARTZ    Power Word – LOVE ♥ Magical Healing Environment – Sitting in your heart, rather than your mind  Honouring your intuition. Living from a place of kindness, compassion and good humour. Practicing spiritual and emotional connection, acceptance, forgiveness and grace. Welcoming love and friendship.

Direction or Destination?

“A ship is safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are for.” ~ William G.T. Shedd

Right now is a terrific time for planning.

2015 is almost upon us, and as the Captain of our own ship we get to choose where we will sail next year.

Some of you might already have a specific destination in mind.

Terrific. Beautiful. Wonderful. When you have a destination decided you can pull out your maps and chart the best course to take you there.

But what if you can’t decide on a destination?

Often, if we choose a direction, the destination will reveal itself. And that destination may be one we would have never thought of for ourselves. Yet fate will lend us a wind that drives our boat towards a new harbour, or we’ll meet a sailor in another port who urges us on to a place he’s recently visited that he’s sure will suit us, or an event will catch our eye, or a smile will capture our heart.

Direction can be enough. A broad idea of where we’re going.

We’ll head north.

We’ll go back to school.

We’ll work to get our debt down.

We’ll concentrate on improving our health.

Once we have a general direction we can choose a few specific small goals based upon that direction.

We’ll develop momentum. Our sails will fill and we’ll be on our way. Direction decided, ultimate destination as yet unknown. A grand adventure!

Sailing Adventure by Beth Marcil

Sailing Adventure by Beth Marcil

But what if your boat isn’t seaworthy?

Two choices here. You can stay in harbour and work to get that boat back in shape for your next voyage. Which might be later in the year, or even the year after that. You might also choose to sail on a river or a lake closer to home, and just cruise for the scenery, or the memories. If something goes wrong you’ll be close to shore and to help.

The other thing you can do is go sailing in your imagination, your meditations, your dreams. Just because the boat is broken, or trapped somehow, doesn’t mean you can’t captain your mind and use that for your next adventure.

I dare you to dream a little for 2015. Think about destinations and directions. Choose a course, get your ship ready, and then set sail…

Why This Psychic Blogs About Cooking!

Raspberry Tiramisu

“No one who cooks, cooks alone. Even at her most solitary, a cook in the kitchen is surrounded by generations of cooks past, the advice and menus of cooks present, the wisdom of cookbook writers.”
~ Laurie Colwin

“If you are careful,’ Garp wrote, ‘if you use good ingredients, and you don’t take any shortcuts, then you can usually cook something very good. Sometimes it is the only worthwhile product you can salvage from a day; what you make to eat. With writing, I find, you can have all the right ingredients, give plenty of time and care, and still get nothing. Also true of love. Cooking, therefore, can keep a person who tries hard sane.”
~ John Irving, The World According to Garp

Someone sent me an email yesterday. I present an excerpt here for your interest;

Nicole, I’m really puzzled over your blog. You are a psychic. What the *#@^ are you writing about cooking for? Also, enough with the photos of your garden and your dogs. Anyone can write about that so leave it to them. More how-to’s about being a psychic and your psychic stories. That’s what I want.

Hmmm…

I made myself a pot of tea, went and hosed my vegetable garden, and thought about how to respond.

It’s true. I am psychic. And that is a very big part of my life. But it’s not ALL of my life.

Further to that, this person also wrote:

“It must be wonderful to be psychic. How glamorous and exciting.”

That made me laugh. Glamorous? Not much, my friend. Exciting? Not really the word I would have chosen.

It has been a big week for me – as well as dealing with my horror Lyme meds I’ve been reaching out to support a friend as she suffers a major health crisis, holding the space for others coming through grief and trauma, and guiding a student experiencing a major spiritual breakthrough. I also advised authorities over a difficult matter, comforted a client who had received a positive cancer diagnosis after finally going to the doctor at my insistence, and guided others through life’s major crossroads.

That’s a normal week for me.

I cannot speak for others who are psychic, but I can speak of what this life is like for me.

I adore what I do, but it is also a great responsibility.  Being psychic, being aware of the thoughts and feelings of others, having knowledge of situations and possibilities, being compelled to come to the aid of people – it’s exhausting.  I can’t turn off seeing auras and energy all around me.  I am constantly aware of things others cannot see, some of which, at times, I would rather not know.

And I am always, always on duty.

I’m not talking about the times when I am working with clients, or running workshops or retreats.  I’m expecting to do psychic work then, and I’m prepared and ready for that.

The truth is I cannot plan my days with any certitude. It doesn’t matter whether I am healthy or unwell, busy or on a day off.  It does not matter what time of the day or night.  If I am called to serve, I must heed that call.

I might wake from a dream, or emerge from a meditation with the need to contact someone, provide information and then support them. Perhaps I will need to try and prevent a suicide.  I might spend time helping a lost soul cross over, comforting a child and guiding them with their own spiritual and psychic connections, or helping an unborn twin save their sibling. My holidays get interrupted, even when I’m in the middle of the ocean, or I might be suddenly called to intervene with healing a past life trauma for a complete stranger.

The images, information and emotions are like constant background noise.  And then sometimes that volume gets cranked way up.

My main method of coping – besides tapping into nature, community and the grounded joys of everyday life – is meditation. Meditation clears the energetic debris at the end of the day, and I can reach out and send love and healing so that others feel supported. Meditation also starts my day.  I can set my intent, tune in and open myself to what most needs focus or support, and direct my energies to that end.  Meditation makes room in my mind, and it uplifts my soul. It’s one of the reasons why I include so many meditations in my blog.

Here's a particularly annoying photo of the blossoms on my lemonade tree. It's shame this isn't a scratch and sniff blog - these blossoms smell so good! :)

Here’s a particularly annoying photo of the blossoms on my lemonade tree. It’s a shame this isn’t a scratch and sniff blog – these blossoms smell so good! 🙂

But that’s not cooking, is it? Meditation is still kind of psychic…

Here’s the thing. Every day I see humanity in all its glorious wonder, frailty, beauty, brutality and ugliness. I taste and feel life as viscerally as if it is all happening to me, and through me.

At times I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders, and at other times I feel uproariously free, grateful and alive. I am privileged to see and feel with this weird kind of subtlety and sensitivity.  It is an honour to peer into the fabric of the Universe and glimpse some of its magic.

It’s a path I take very seriously.

But it’s not glamorous, or particularly exciting. Instead I find it humbling, hard work and at times extraordinarily rewarding.

So why blog recipes?

Cooking is actually very important to me. Sorry, that may sound a bit trite. Let me explain. It’s where I feel my grandmothers’ hands guiding mine – although they are now passed over. And I really miss my grandmothers! Cooking helps me feel them in the kitchen with me. Preparing food is one of the ways I can show care for my family, friends and community, and it’s the thing I do to stay sane in my often crazy world.

Cooking is often my lifeline, and the thing that normalises me when life feels so very strange. It connects me to my ordinary self. It’s a way to unwind, a form of moving meditation. It’s a way to nurture me and others. Plus… yum!

Also my Nana’s Curried Sausages Recipe beats Jamie Oliver’s and the Women’s Weekly’s in Google rankings. 🙂

Anyway, I digress…

Getting my hands into the dirt in my garden or rambling around my farm talking to the cows keeps me grounded too.

Nurse Bert!

Nurse Bert!

My dogs? They are sometimes the rodeo clowns who prevent me being trampled, sometimes my nurses, sometimes the ones who understand best what I need, and who give me love, comfort and reason to laugh after a hard day.

I’m glad you are keen to develop your psychic skills. But how’s your cooking? How’s your compassion? What are your coping skills? How’s your humanity?

How will you handle being psychic, and all that entails, especially looking after and guiding other people with wisdom and kindness, if you cannot also be rounded and grounded as a person?

Sorry, but I’m going to keep blogging my life – ALL of it – I hope you understand.

All the best,

Nicole

PS – I couldn’t help myself. I guess you mightn’t be reading my blog again after this, so I thought I’d better include one last photo of my awesomely magical dogs…unicorn dogs

Becoming Who You Always Were

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Right now, here on retreat, my goal isn’t just to teach my participants new things. Instead, my goal is to help them uncover and live more fully as they already are.

It’s the same for everyone. Inside you, there is already someone magnificent. There is already a whole and comprehensive soul, with gifts to share, and wisdom to express.

You didn’t come to this life broken or incomplete. Sure, we’re all a work in progress, and we evolve and grow in response to the circumstances around us, but fundamentally and energetically we have this core essence that remains constant. Our best life becomes the expression of that essence.

That essence makes itself known to us through our preferences. From an early age we enjoy certain things more than others. We excel at, or stay focused on, particular things. It expresses itself through our personality, and it speaks to us via our intuition.

Intuition is lightning fast. The thought comes to us. The idea arrives fully formed in our minds. We instinctively want one thing, but not another. We feel good about that thing. Something about it calls to us. The knowing or the answer sits inside us. We feel it. It fills our cells with certainty.

But we live in a culture that values reason. That prizes the intellect.

From the earliest age we are taught to doubt that knowing.

Image from Parenting Hub

Image from Parent Hub

Mumma, I want this beading kit.

Why do you want that one, honey?

I don’t know. I just do. (There are no words. Just desire. Inside, the creative energy of the child is fired up. She can see herself making patterns and designs. The colours are so pretty. It’s calling her.)

That’s not a good reason. This toy’s a bit young for you. See, it says here on the box Ages 3 and up. You’re six now. A big girl. Which one do you really want? Don’t you like the doll in the yellow dress better?

After repeated episodes of others influencing our decisions, or questioning our choices, we begin to question them ourselves. Instead of trusting this guiding force within us, we begin to run everything past our conscious mind. We think about it. We reason it out. We find facts for and against.

We are no longer in the realm of feeling, and knowing. We are in our heads. We are thinking, and over-thinking. Our confidence in ourselves and our choices is shot. We begin to look to others for validation and approval…

Our essence is always here, inside us. Our intuition is always here to guide us. There is a great power to be had in allowing ourselves room to simply be. Space to sit with ourselves and what is. Time for letting that intuitive wisdom bubble back up to the surface after having been suppressed so long.

How we tune back in to ourselves? Here are a few simple things you can try:

  • Keep a journal. Write regularly, then read back over it and look for themes. Your true interests and passions will shine through.
  • Spend time on your own in nature. Nature soothes, and strips away all the head talk, leaving you alone with your true, wise self.
  • Seek out activities and hobbies that you enjoy. Spend time doing them, and feeling that sense of joy and being absorbed in something meaningful to you.
  • What made you happy as a child? If you’re not sure. ask someone or look at old photographs.
  • What music, interests or hobbies make the hours fly past?
  • What did you always enjoy doing in the past? (That might mean quite a long time ago!)
  • What things came easily to you? Skills, talents, behaviours.
  • What things do you REALLY not enjoy doing or experiencing? (This show you clearly who you aren’t!)
  • Around what areas do you have the most doubts? Where do you seek the most validation or approval, rather than trusting yourself and your abilities? Where do you hold yourself back? (This is a BIG sign that this thing is very important to you, and part of your natural talent.)

I encourage you to start tuning in, and getting a stronger sense of who you already are, and always were. The authentic essence of you is a beautiful and powerful force, waiting to be expressed in your life.

“Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all is a form of planning.”
~ Gloria Steinem

It’s only one more sleep until I head off to run my Advanced Channeling Retreat. I’m so excited I could just about bust! 🙂

For the last eight weeks I have been readying myself. I have crafted, created and selected tools for each of my students. I have worked through rituals and meditations to help me prepare, so that I can best serve those who will be joining me.

The old and ancient trees around my farm have been hosting specially chosen Australian crystals that have been charged up by the energy of the tree (variously Hoop Pine, Ghost Gum, Bunya Pine, White Cedar, Teak, Tallowood, Magnolia), the moon, the Super Moon transit, the stars, the sun, the earth, and the various creatures wandering around the wild spaces of my home. I’ve gathered them in now, ready for my students.

For the past month I have held my students in my meditations twice each day. I have held them in my heart, and they have been constantly in my thoughts.

In this past month I have set my students homework, and given them guided meditations to follow. We have all been working towards this time together.

So now it is down to this. One more sleep and we shall all be together, working and learning and sharing. One more sleep and my students will begin creating a solid metaphysical foundation on which to build the strong manifestations of their dearest dreams.

It’s such sacred work. I pour my everything into this time before, and then during our retreat, and then after, when I will continue to hold my students in twice daily meditations for another month.  I feel so honoured to walk this path, and to guide them, in the way that my Aunties guided me.

I’ll still be blogging from our beautiful sanctuary at Sangsurya in Byron Bay, so I’ll keep you posted. I’m sure there’ll be some magic happening.

Big hugs and much love,

Nicole xx

*PS – I’ll be running the Beginners Level Channeling course in June, 2015, and there are still a few spots left. If you contact my wonderful PA, Dana at info@nicolecody.com she can send you the information. But be patient. She’s coming on retreat too, so she won’t get back to you for a week or so.

A Big Green #Lyme Anniversary!

“We are not the same persons this year as last; nor are those we love. It is a happy chance if we, changing, continue to love a changed person.”W. Somerset Maugham

I was talking with my sister yesterday, and she said to me, “Hey, are you planning anything special for your thirty year anniversary tomorrow?”

“Huh?” I replied.

“You know, this Saturday is the same weekend  thirty years ago when you were bitten by the tick that gave you Lyme disease. Ekka weekend. That anniversary!”

Simone remembered because I glued the tick into her school diary, which, weirdly, she kept for all those years! Thanks, Sissy 🙂

Wow. Thirty years. That’s such a long time.

It made me sad at first, to think of how much of my life has been claimed by this disease, and then I decided that enough of my life has been given over to sadness. I thought long and hard about how Lyme has changed me.

This is what I came up with.

If I hadn’t been bitten by the tick I would have gone on to become a lawyer, and my ambitions would have taken me far, far from here. I would have never married my first husband. I would not have gone to the Kimberley for my life changing connection with the Aboriginal Aunties. I would have continued to ignore or hide my psychic gift. I would have shunned this thing that I am, in favour of something more conventional.

Lyme has stripped almost everything away from me. My ability to have kids, to study, to live a normal life, to work in a normal job.

But it left me two things. My ability to love, and my ability to live and work within the metaphysical planes of existence. I had always seen that as a diminishment, and now I see that Lyme distilled me down to my essence, and forced me to live as a psychic. It was the only thing left that I could do.

That’s actually a beautiful thing, hard a journey as it’s been.

Now, as my health slowly returns, as I walk this hard journey of healing, things are being added back in to my life. My ability to think, to write – these two things have become such precious, precious gifts. When I was young I took it all for granted.

No more.

Tomorrow I shall celebrate my essence. The gifts of love, compassion, psychic connection, perseverance, moral courage, gratitude and hope, and the return of words, imagination and the ability to write again.

That’s worth a good cake, don’t you think?

The owl in the tree outside my window agrees!

The Seeker’s Moon

“There comes a time in the seeker’s life when he discovers that he is at once the lover and the beloved.”
~ Sri Chinmoy

“Everything you possess of skill, and wealth, and handicraft,
wasn’t it first merely a thought and a quest?”
~ Rumi

I am making the final preparations for my retreat this week, before we start on Saturday.

The dates were chosen carefully to coincide with certain moon phases. I work with the moon often, here at my farm. Understanding her cycles helps us grow things well, and work with the potent forces of nature, rather than against them. It also works well in our own personal quest for growth.

Although you may not be joining us, perhaps you’d like to consciously work with this beautiful moon energy too.

Right now (today!) the moon is in Sagittarius, and it is a waxing crescent. All waxing moons are fabulous for growth and change. This current phase is known as the Traveller’s Moon.

It’s a time where we doubt and we question. A time of ‘itchiness’ where we long to become unstuck and to travel forward. We recognise that something is missing in our lives and so we embark on our quest. We become the Traveller.

By the weekend, when the retreat begins, we shall be in a waxing gibbous moon – the Seeker’s Moon. The seeker has a restless spirit. They yearn to find answers. They desire to find a deeper meaning in their life, around which they can arrange their days.

A Seeker’s Moon is a great time for introspection, and for Vision Quests. It’s a time for soul searching and seeking truth. We seek answers from without and within.

If you’re truly looking to change the course of your life and to have clarity of direction, the Seeker’s Moon provides powerful energy to illuminate these answers in your life.

In the final days of our retreat we move into the Scholar’s Moon – the gibbous moon in Sagittarius.

Under a Scholar’s Moon we integrate what we have learned. We have heard the whispers of our heart. We have noted the illumination of our direction by the Universe. We have a clear idea of where we are going.

Now is the time to commit to that path. We open ourselves to deeper levels of knowledge, understanding that the end of one quest marks the beginning of another. We are now on a journey of self-growth and self-mastery.

The Waxing Moon in Sagittarius is not a call for everyone. But if it is your time, you will know. You will feel its pull.

I’ll post a little more over the next ten days, for those of you who can’t join us but who feel compelled to travel this same road.

Much love to you. May you journey well. ♥ Nicole xx

“You can’t, if you can’t feel it, if it never
Rises from the soul, and sways
The heart of every single hearer,
With deepest power, in simple ways.
You’ll sit forever, gluing things together,
Cooking up a stew from other’s scraps,
Blowing on a miserable fire,
Made from your heap of dying ash.
Let apes and children praise your art,
If their admiration’s to your taste,
But you’ll never speak from heart to heart,
Unless it rises up from your heart’s space.”
~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Faust: First Part
