Christmas Full Moon – 2015

“The songs of our ancestors are also the songs of our children”
~ Philip Carr-Gomm

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

There is a full moon tonight – Christmas Night, 2015.  (I know, I know, some of you dear readers are only up to Christmas Eve, but I’m in Australia, where it’s tomorrow already!)

It seems quite fitting that we are having this particular full moon on Christmas night. It’s an Ancestors Moon. A pattern-breaking moon. Given that most of us will spend time at Christmas thinking about family, or spending time in their presence, I believe this to be a moon of great potential influence and healing.

This moon truly shines a light on ancestral and family patterns, allowing us opportunity for healing and for ending old patterns within our family line that no longer serve us, and which we do not wish to see repeated within the lives of our children and their children.

I’ve created a simple ritual that you can do at any time today, or tonight, that will help this process of healing and growth within your family.

anistry-2

Christmas Full Moon Ritual

Tools you will need:

A small stone or crystal that you are comfortable to discard. Ten minutes of your time.

Method:

Read through this first, and then perform the ritual. You can do this ritual at any time on Christmas Day or Christmas evening.

  1. Sit or stand somewhere on your own, where you won’t be disturbed. Take your stone in your hand and close your eyes.
  2. Offer up a prayer that all work be for your Highest Good and the Highest Good of your family line.
  3. Feel back in time, and begin to notice and become aware of all of your ancestors. You might have this as a feeling, an intention or idea, or you may get images. Whatever happens for you, know that the ritual is still working.
  4. Feel how all of those souls who came before you, including your own parents and grandparents have shaped you. Don’t judge the relationships. Simply be aware of them.
  5. Feel the love and support for you, and the encouragement from souls in your family line who have passed over. It doesn’t matter that you have not met them. Their history and blood flows in your veins. You are a part of them, and they are a part of you.
  6. Think of a situation, pattern of behaviour, or belief that needs healing or ending within your family right now. Understand that this situation, belief or pattern was needed for learning.
  7. Flow love and light into your stone, and visualise that situation, pattern or belief. Flow that into the stone as well.
  8. Say out loud “I offer myself as the pattern breaker. This energy will end with me.”
  9. Lock the energy into the stone.
  10. Now offer a prayer that this situation, pattern or belief be healed within your family.
  11. Say out loud the words, “I AM, and it is so. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
  12. Stand or sit in the energy as long as feels right for you. You may receive energy, insights or other gifts now.
  13. When you are ready open your eyes. Lay your stone out under the open sky and the moonlight for the night. If this isn’t possible leave it on a windowsill where it can be exposed to the energy of the Ancestors Moon.
  14. Tomorrow, after the moon has set, take your stone and bury it in the earth, or within the soil of a pot-plant. You could also cast your stone into the river or sea. Let it go. Let it all go now.

It’s Finished – Our Mala of Love

2015-03-04 22.23.14

“Be not forgetful of prayer. Every time you pray, if your prayer is sincere, there will be new feeling and new meaning in it, which will give you fresh courage, and you will understand that prayer is an education.”
~ Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

“It does not matter how long you are spending on the earth, how much money you have gathered or how much attention you have received. It is the amount of positive vibration you have radiated in life that matters.”
~ Amit Ray

Well, my lovelies, it is meditation time and I am about to begin prayers and affirmations on my new mala. Many of you are represented personally here in the beads that will move between my fingers this morning. All of you are represented on the last bead, which you’ll see above is the teardrop-shaped clear quartz before the crackle quartz Keeper Stone. There are crystal beads chosen for their energies, and wood, glass and ceramic beads chosen for their colour or symbolism. Every bead has been chosen with love and careful intent.

I’ll be praying this mala twice a day for the next thirty days. Already I have prayed and blessed each bead as I named it and strung it. Already I can say, yes, this pearl is Liz, this banded agate is PJ, this celestite is Jacob, this owl is Joanne.

2015-03-04 22.22.32

My intention for the next thirty days is to use my meditation and prayers to aid in our emotional healing, and that will be my theme in my twice-daily meditations. This is a mala for forgiveness and self-love, for ending guilt, regret, fear and shame and embracing love and flow and abundance.

Each day I’ll hold every bead, one at a time, between my fingers and pray my mantras and then a specific prayer for each bead – each person. I’ll wear this mala every day, all day, so that I carry you with me.

Today, know that I am holding you in my thoughts and prayers. That I am carrying you in my arms. That you are very much loved.

Guided Meditation for Connecting with Your Ancestors

“Human beings look separate because you see them walking about separately. But then we are so made that we can see only the present moment. If we could see the past, then of course it would look different. For there was a time when every man was part of his mother, and (earlier still) part of his father as well, and when they were part of his grandparents. If you could see humanity spread out in time, as God sees it, it would look like one single growing thing–rather like a very complicated tree. Every individual would appear connected with every other.”
~ C.S. Lewis

Today I’ve prepared a simple Guided Meditation for you, to help you to connect into the wisdom, love and support of your Ancestral line. This energy will support you as you open yourself to the possibilities and opportunities of 2015.

It’s not important for you to know who your Ancestors are, or how they are related to you. What is important is that you have an open mind, an open heart and a desire to create that connection.

If you missed yesterday’s post, which has the simple preparatory steps you need, you can review it here by clicking on the link.

You’ll need to set aside twenty-five minutes for this meditation. Sit or lie somewhere quietly, using pillows or blankets if needed to make yourself comfortable. Then simply close your eyes, hold your crystal or stone and follow the sound of my voice. It’s fine to let yourself fall asleep during the meditation, or immediately afterwards.

To listen to the meditation, click on the button below:

This meditation will help you to connect into your own soul’s wisdom, and the energy and wisdom of your ancestors.

Holding your crystal after this meditation will continue to strongly connect you into your ancestral energy, as well as past lives, and will help you to travel along the timeline during subsequent meditations or in the dream state.

“When we have passed a certain age, the soul of the child that we were and the souls of the dead from whom we sprang come and shower upon us their riches and their spells, asking to be allowed to contribute to the new emotions which we feel and in which, erasing their former image, we recast them in an original creation.”
~ Marcel Proust, The Captive & The Fugitive

“You are the fairy tale told by your ancestors.”
~Toba Beta, My Ancestor Was an Ancient Astronaut

2015 is almost upon us.

It’s going to be a big year for many. A positive year. A year where everything changes.

Years ago, when I lived in the Kimberley, my Aboriginal Aunties taught me how to call on and connect with my Ancestors. Doing that changed my life in ways I could never have imagined. There is so much love, wisdom, support and guidance for us beyond what we can see here in our own reality.

Our Ancestors are our loved ones who have crossed over, back to the beginning of our family line. Some of these Ancestors you may know. They will have been your father or your grandmother, an aunt or some other family elder from your living memory. Some of these Ancestors will go so much further back than that.

Tomorrow I’m going to give you a guided meditation to help you connect in with the energy of your own Ancestors, so that you may draw on that help and love in the days ahead.

To be ready for that meditation you need just a few simple things:

  • a crystal or stone you can hold comfortably in your hands
  • a list of any personality characteristics you would like strengthened in you
  • a list of any personal values you would like strengthened in you
  • a list of skills you would like strengthened in you
  • a project that is dear to your heart where you would like to enlist help for its success next year

Your lists don’t need to be exhaustive. Their purpose is simply that you have given these issues proper thought before the meditation begins so that you can make the most of your time in that space.

See you tomorrow!

Lots of love, Nicole xx

PS – Here’s the stone I’m called to use tomorrow. It’s a Shaligram (the traditional name for it) – an ammonite fossil. My dear friend Sally found it in Nepal and brought it home for me. It has the most amazing ancient energy. And it fits so snugly into my hand!

Musings on Early Morning Magic

2014-12-02 05.28.08

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”
~ W.B. Yeats

I am sitting on the veranda of my retreat bedroom, looking out over the quiet, still bay. It’s cool this morning, and cloudy. A ribbon of pink light is beginning to colour the sky, slowly growing brighter and widening its arc.

It feels quite primal. There is the energy of the trees and giant tree ferns, the riot of noise that is the pre-dawn chorus, with  birds of every description adding their voices to the morning song, a mob of black cockatoos circling, on their early morning patrol.

2014-12-02 05.27.54

And there is also an unseen magic in this morning air. I know this, for I can feel it, and I have recently been a part of it.

This morning, like every morning, I meditated. I meditated for myself. I meditated for healing for family and friends. I meditated for the earth, for her skies and her lands and her oceans, for all of the creatures who live upon her, and to send peace, love and oneness out into the world.

Now as I sit here, watching the bright blaze of light streaking across the horizon I can feel the energy of other early-morning meditators. I can feel the prayers being offered up by ordinary people everywhere.

2014-12-02 05.37.56

I think of the spiritual energies of the world, the fairies and the angels, the guides and energetic realms, our ancestors and loved ones passed over.

I watch the black cockatoos circling the bay. Many years ago my Aboriginal Aunties promised me they would send these birds to watch over me, and to remind me of my connection to them, to country and to my psychic work.

There is so much unseen support and love for us here, some of it from people we don’t know, and will never meet.

Please. Don’t ever feel that you are alone.

You’re in my thoughts, my meditations, my prayers. And the thoughts, meditations and prayers of many others.

Bless. Nicole xx

Journal Challenge Week 2 – Lightbulbs and Lightning Strikes

Image from Dan's Data

Image from Dan’s Data

“SOWING LIGHTNING

Seize
Bolts of lightning from the sky
And plant them in fields of life.

They will grow like tender sprouts of fire.
Charge somber thoughts
With unexpected flash,
You, my lightning in the soil!”
~ Visar Zhiti, The Condemned Apple: Selected Poetry

Hello, my Lovelies, and welcome to Week 2 of our Journal Challenge!

If you’ve only just found us now, it’s not too late to go back and start at the beginning. That’s the beauty of journalling. It waits for us, and works with our own time-frames.

I suppose you’ve heard about Lightbulb Moments. You know, that instant where the light comes on and you truly UNDERSTAND something for the first time. ‘Ah,’ you say, perhaps a little excitedly, ‘I get it!’

There’s another kind of awareness that can hit us too. It’s painful. It’s abrupt. It’s super-charged and the sting is so shocking that the memory is somehow imprinted into you at a cellular level. ‘Holy Shit!’ you manage to choke out, if indeed you can find any words at all. That ain’t no Lightbulb Moment, honey. That’s a Lightning Strike!

Some of our most powerful insights and guiding direction comes in the form of Lightbulb Moments and Lightning Strikes. This week we’re opening ourselves to reconnecting to the wisdom we’ve already received, as well as inviting more of these moments into our lives.

Are you ready? Courage, my dears.

Let’s Begin!

Choosing a Crystal

You may wish to choose a crystal to work with this week. It is entirely optional, and you’d be fine without one too – but for my fellow rock lovers, read on…

You can hold this crystal as you write or meditate, place it under your pillow or beside your bed while you sleep, or carry it in your pocket to help you stay focused.

You could choose your stone based on what most appeals to you. That’s a very valid approach. But if you need a little direction, good crystals to work with this week include:

  • Citrine
  • Clear Quartz of any kind
  • Emerald
  • Amethyst
  • Labradorite
  • Orange or golden calcite
  • Black Tourmaline
  • Hematite
  • Jade

This week I’m using a rather comforting Labradorite that fits perfectly into my hand. Feel free to let us know what kind of crystal you choose by leaving a comment below or over at our facebook page.

Week Two Meditation:

There is so much wisdom already inside you. It stretches back through your family tree, and through your past lives. This week, before you begin to reflect on and journal your exploratory questions, take a minute or two to perform this simple meditation.

Ancestor Activation Technique

Before you begin writing, sit or lie quietly. One by one, raise your palms and look into them, seeing all the lines and contours. Know that your entire family lineage is held within these hands, and that your hands link you back through time to loved ones who still watch over you and guide you. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know or feel connected to your family, or if you don’t know your family history. It doesn’t matter if the family you are born into is a family with whom you don’t resonate. Family is bigger than that. It goes back so much further than you might know. These bonds anchor us in a love far beyond our conscious understanding. We reincarnate into our family tree over and over again. None of us is ever alone. We are always well loved, although we may not always understand this.

If you are using a stone, cup your crystal in one hand and then place your other hand over the top. Rest your hands comfortably in your lap. If you’re not using a crystal, place your hands palm down on your belly.

Visualise a rainbow in your crystal, or if you are just using your hands, visualise a rainbow in the palms of your hands. Breathe in to activate your hands and let that rainbow of colour expand, flowing out into your aura and into your body on each outbreath. Close your eyes if it feels comfortable to do so.

Now in your mind offer up a prayer to your Ancestors. Ask them for guidance and help. Ask them to flow wisdom and opportunity to you. Say anything else that feels right for you.

Then sit in this energy a little longer and be open to any thoughts, images or ideas that come.

Finally, take six breaths deep into your belly, letting your body relax completely.

Now you’re ready to write!

Journal Questions:

You can choose any or all of the questions below. Some will be asked as traditional questions, and some are sentences that give you a place to start by leaving a space for you to complete that sentence.

I suggest going with what resonates and repels for a good balance. Write as much or as little as you need. It could be three words or three pages. Spread it out over a week, or spend a solid hour or two over one day – it’s up to you! If you’re in flow, keep going and see where it takes you. Be brave here, sweethearts. Pry open those tightly closed doors. Fling open the windows and let the light in. We can’t operate in darkness. Healing needs air and sunlight.

You can also write over more than one sitting, even beyond this current journal challenge, taking yourself deeper and clearer each time you come back to that question. Trust that more will be revealed as your own wholeness is revealed.

If you’re using a crystal, hold it in your non-writing hand, or place it in your lap or pocket. Feel free to get yourself a beverage, or to sit in a coffee shop while you do this. Enjoy the process!

2012-06-04 11.06.04

This week we’re bravely peeling back the layers, seeking to own all the parts of us. Including those things we have pushed away, rejected, been shamed for, or that give us embarrassment or pain. I’ve grouped the questions together for a reason.

If you don’t know how to answer something, ask yourself again, and then wait.

Still nothing?

Ask again and wait some more. Then ask – What am I afraid of here? Bravely wait for the answer, and then ask yourself the question again, knowing that your fears cannot harm you.

Also ask yourself this, if it feels right: Is this a family pattern? How might I break this pattern, so that Ancestral Patterning stops with me?

Self-Sabotage:

  1. What is my most insidious (subtle and sneaky) self-sabotaging behaviour?
  2. What is my most overt (obvious and visible) self-sabotaging behaviour?
  3. Why did I start this behaviour? Who did I pattern it (copy or learn it) from?
  4. What are the benefits of this sabotaging behaviour? How does it keep me ‘safe’?
  5. What would happen in my life if I gradually replaced this behaviour with one that genuinely supported and sustained me?
  6. What positive behaviours could I choose?
  7. How does this knowledge make me feel? Why?

Resentment:

  1. The people I resent most are…
  2. The reasons I resent them are…
  3. It’s so unfair for me because…
  4. I’m so worried that I’ll never get time to…
  5. I hate that I’m always the one who has to…
  6. What do I resent that others tell me about myself, or expect me to be?
  7. The thing putting me under all this stress is…

Excuses, excuses:

  1. What do I tell myself that keeps me small?
  2. Who else do I know who behaves like that?
  3. What virtuous or ‘good’ patterns or behaviours do I use to avoid dealing with my own stuff?
  4. What am I so afraid of here?
  5. What am I stopping myself from doing?

Oh, the Shame!:

  1. The incident I am most ashamed about is…
  2. The thing I still hate to have people bring up about me is…
  3. The thing I still feel most guilty about is…
  4. The most embarrassed I’ve ever been is…
  5. I feel such a failure because…
  6. I could never be that thing I so desire to be, because…
  7. The one thing I wish I could erase from my life is…
  8. The powerful and painful learning burned into my brain like a Lightning Strike about this is…
  9. I could reframe that learning into something good and wise by seeing it this way…

And now for some healing and expanding life energy. Be informed by the writing you have done with your exploratory questions. Choose one or do them all. Let yourself step into the energy of possibility and growth. Let your own inner knowing be a healing force of good in your life. Write at least a paragraph. Be detailed and specific where you can.Turn pain and suffering into wisdom. Let yourself be lit up with Lightbulb Moments and Lightning Strikes.

If you’re uncomfortable, then write it as a wise fairy-tale that might be good advice for someone else.

1. The lesson my self-sabotaging behaviour teaches me is…

2. As I embrace this lesson, with love and compassion for myself, I can see my life becoming…

3. My resentment is a powerful voice inside me showing me what’s truly important to my heart and soul. This resentment has taught me that what matters is…

4. I will overcome or deal with my fear by…

5. These painful things have taught me some beautiful lessons about myself. I can now become wiser, kinder, more uplifted and more inspired because I understand that…

6. The parts of myself that I lovingly reclaim are…

Do pop over to our facebook page this week. There will be some rune guidance for you. I’ll be giving away some lovely surprises and there will also be an online party next weekend where I’ll be available to answer your questions and have some fun!

I have so much faith in you. We have a big year ahead in 2015 – full of opportunity and possibility – and I know you’ll be well positioned to make the most of it by doing all of this self-work!

Big hugs to you and lots of love, Nicole xx

Guided Meditation for Anchoring into the Expanding Universe

Image from ScienceNet

“You and I are all as much continuous with the physical universe as a wave is continuous with the ocean.”
~ Alan Wilson Watts

“To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter… to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring — these are some of the rewards of the simple life.”
~ John Burroughs, Leaf and Tendril

This last meditation in our series is designed to anchor us into the unfolding and ever-expanding energy of the Universe.

For this meditation you need:

1) A photograph of you as a small child or baby.

2) A photograph or even an object that belonged to one of your ancestors. Choose someone who is/was your grandparent, or even from the generations before that.

3) The crystal that we used in last week’s meditation, or one you have prepared for this meditation.

4) Something that you deeply desire to manifest in your life. Get clear about what that is. If you have time, journal about it to create as much detail as possible.
