January 1, 2017 – Guidance for the Year Ahead

“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”
~ Barack Obama

Happy New Year, and welcome to the energies of 2017!

New Year’s Day is always a special time for me. I like to welcome the day with meditation, and then spend some time over the course of the day contemplating my year ahead, asking for spiritual guidance, and writing in my journal and my Year of ME Planner.  For me it is a day of planning and dreaming, and spending time with people and activities that matter to me.

I have one tarot deck that I use only for the first day of the new year.  For over 25 years I have worked with this deck as a touchstone to set the themes of my year ahead so that I might live with greater awareness and understanding.  I don’t use the cards as a predictive tool – rather I use them for reflection, and to seek guidance about qualities, actions and perspectives that might benefit me over the next twelve months.

I also ask for one card for you – to give YOU guidance over the year ahead.  This is my personal interpretation of that card for you, and the energies of 2017 as they unfold in front of us.

Take what resonates as truth for you, and discard the rest.

THE PRINCE OF DISKS – Insights for 2017

thothpod

“Why do I talk about the benefits of failure? Simply because failure meant a stripping away of the inessential. I stopped pretending to myself that I was anything other than what I was, and began to direct all my energy into finishing the only work that mattered to me.” ~ J. K. Rowling

“It’s not what we do once—it’s what we do once a day… day in and day out… every day that brings lasting change into our lives.”
~ Toni Sorenson

What a big, big year of endings and shift we experienced in 2016. It was also a year of closing out age-old energies, and preparing ourselves for the new energetic era and the first energetic cycle within this era that 2017 represents.

2016 was a year of clarification, endings, beginnings, decisions and breakthroughs. It was a year for dealing with big issues and neglected areas of our lives. For family dramas and ancestral healing. It was also a time for sowing the seeds of who we want to become as the energy of a new cycle unfolds.

2017 is the first year in this new cycle, and the Prince of Disks is showing us the way. The Prince of Disks reminds us of the importance of holding to our vision, even if we are only at the beginning of a long journey. It’s a card of great hope.

There are so many determined souls stepping forward now, and being born, who hold within their hearts the blueprint for positive change. This change may not come quickly. The way to change may at times be hard, but the Prince of Disks holds to the course and keeps making slow steady progress in the direction of his dreams.

Prince of Disks reassures us. Life might be difficult, and there may be many problems facing us, but there are souls among us who are striving for solutions to the problems in our world. Prince of Disks represents all the souls who are committed to creating a better world, one determined step at a time. We all have our part to play now.

2017 is our Ground Zero. Our new beginning. This is our year for tending to the gardens of our souls. First we must plant any seeds not yet in our gardens, so that we can create a life of our conscious choosing. Then we need to be the caretakers of that garden. We need to nurture and feed our dreams. We need to weed out self-doubt and any limiting behaviours or attitudes. This needs constant gentle attention. It can sometimes be monotonous work, tending to these young seedlings that represent our hopes and dreams. We might not see results straight away. We will realise that our vision may take years to come to fruition, but we also understand something as we toil away at this thing we believe in. It feels good to help things grow.

That’s what 2017 is all about – GROWTH. It is a year of rich potential and new beginnings. A year of coming unstuck and moving towards the light. It is a year of change and of hope. It’s a year where you can remake yourself, put
yourself back together, renew yourself, grow. You can do this for yourself. You can do this for the world.

Your feet are already on the path. Your heart knows which way it wants to go. The Prince of Disks calls you on. There is much power in starting. Starting creates movement. Movement creates momentum.

Prince of Disks advises us that we can overcome limiting beliefs and behaviours. We can have dominion and authority in our own lives. It’s a time to break free of addictions. It’s a time to step away from the old, and to embrace the new.

It is also a year that promotes strong intuitive and psychic development, and a strengthened ability to connect to our own inner voice and personal wisdom.

We’re reminded that routine gives us structure and strong foundations. We’re reminded that small steps can take us a very long way indeed if these same small steps become consistent.

2017 becomes a foundation year on which so many good and true things can be built.

What will you begin this year? What will you craft for yourself, your family, your community or the wider world?

I’m wishing you a year rich with meaning, and filled with love, support, kindness, well-being and flow. Go be the change. Go be yourself. We need you more than ever.

Bless ♥ Nicole xx

Journal Challenge Week 2 – August 9, 2015

“Don’t you find it odd,” she continued, “that when you’re a kid, everyone, all the world, encourages you to follow your dreams. But when you’re older, somehow they act offended if you even try.”
~ Ethan Hawke, The Hottest State

Welcome to Week Two of our journal challenge. If you missed the start you can go here to catch up on the tools you’ll need, and to review what to do and catch up on last week go here: Week One’s activities.

This week, astrologically, holds a strong and supportive energy for honest review. Not the kind of review where we judge ourselves, but the kind where we look back over our lives and revisit or remember the dreams, plans and interests we were once passionate about that still hold a spark for us.

For all kinds of reasons we may have needed to put them down. Wrong place, wrong time, no money, not enough knowledge or skill, other situations or opportunities more pressing. More often, what has sidelined these once-vital energies in our lives are self-doubt, fear, criticism from others (or even worse, ourselves), lack of self-worth or lack of support.

Be open to reconnecting to these lost or disconnected parts of yourself as you work through this week’s activities.

Weekly Structure Reminder

Each week of this nine week challenge will follow the same format:

  1. We will begin with the short guided meditation for the week, using your guidance stone. During this meditation you’ll be given a colour to work with for the week, and a word or phrase.
  2. We will choose an oracle card to give us inspiration and direction for the week ahead
  3. We will spend ten minutes (or more if desired!) to complete our weekly journal prompt.
  4. We will spend a few moments at the end of our day in gratitude.

Start Here!

1. Guided Meditation

Take your guidance stone and sit or lie quietly. Then simply follow the sound of my voice. You’ll need seven minutes.

When the meditation is complete, write down your power colour and your power word or phrase in your journal.

  • How can you use your Power Word this week? Write a few ideas, based on your word. Trust whatever comes and write it down. Don’t overthink it.
  • What does your Colour mean to you? What words or ideas does it provoke? Write them down. This week, use this colour to boost your energy. Shut your eyes for thirty seconds and breathe it into your body whenever you feel a bit flat or low. Wear it as clothing. Choose flowers in your colour. Eat food that colour. Be creative with it.

2. Oracle Card

Take your cards, offer up a small prayer that whatever you do be for your Highest Good, and then shuffle the deck. As you’re shuffling, ask the question‘What do I most need to focus on this week?’ Say it out loud or hold it as a thought in your head. Either will work.

Choose one card. How you choose is up to you. Split the deck. Fan them out. Top or bottom. Dive right in. There is no right or wrong.

Now look at your card and hold your guidance stone in your non-writing hand. Really look at the card. Don’t use the book or the ‘proper’ meaning. We are being intuitive here, people! What stands out for you in the picture? What thoughts and ideas do the images provoke? Take a minute or two and write those thoughts down. I know, you might feel like you’re just making it all up. That’s okay. Write anyway. Trust that there is a part of you that is wise and that has been waiting for this chance to speak with your conscious mind.

What’s interesting for me about my card for the week is that there is very clearly an old lady’s face in the top right, but I didn’t see it at all until I started to write and looked over at the card for a second time. It was as if the face magically appeared, although I am sure it was there all along.

Here’s my first journal page for this week, just so you can see what I’m up to:

2015-08-08 19.08.02

3. Week Two Journal Prompt

This week is a trip into the past to reclaim some of the dreams, schemes and ideas we’ve left behind. How much you write is up to you. Do this once, or write a little every day. Whatever works for you. Hold your guidance stone in your non-writing hand or place it on your lap or beside you while you write.Genuinely seek to connect with what your heart knows.

There are three prompts this week:

  1. I’ve always wanted to…
  2. I’m really sorry that I stopped…
  3. If I knew I couldn’t fail, and if there were truly no obstacles I would…

You may write one thing or pages for each prompt. That’s okay.

You’ll know when you’ve written enough.

I like to write a little each day, first thing in the morning before the rest of the world wakes up. Here’s the beginning of my own writing:

2015-08-08 19.35.47

Using the Gratitude Rock:

The Gratitude Rock anchors positive energy and gratitude at the end of every day.  You can carry your stone with you, or leave it beside your bed.  At night, before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock in your hand.

As you hold the stone say to yourself I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life.  Then hold in your mind one or more image of a thing you have been grateful for today. Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe. Visualise a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.

Now here’s the fun bit – imagine all of the other people who are taking part in this journalling challenge with you. Once again build up a strong positive energy in your heart, and then imagine shooting a stream of golden light out into the Universe to those people.

Say Thank you.  I Bless You.  I intend for you Love, Miracles and Abundance. Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy. I have to admit, this might be my favourite bit of the challenge! 🙂

Enjoy your journalling and reflection time this week.  Let your Power Word and colour guide you. Think on the wisdom you’ve taken from your oracle card. Use it all! And remember to pop over to facebook and let us know how you’re going. I always love to hear from you.

Much love, Nicole <3 xx

Journal Challenge Week 1 – Full Moon

“If you’re going to doubt something, doubt your limits.” ~ Don Ward

Welcome to Week One of our four week journaling challenge. There are some very favourable energies about right now to help us in connecting to our authentic selves, and from that place of truth we can then dream a new life, a new self, a new future into being.

This week we’ll be influenced by the Full Moon in Taurus. This beautiful moon is also known as the Earth Mother’s Moon. The Earth Mother Moon helps us to understand our life as an ecosystem, so that we can identify and give ourselves what we need to thrive in a balanced and sustainable way. It is a practical energy, a patient energy, and a kind energy. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

Because we’ll still be under the influence of the recent partial Solar Eclipse and the previous New Moon in Scorpio all this month, we need to work with these bigger energies too. The gift here is in seeking the truth, completing patterns from the past, and experiencing breakthroughs as we step into this new phase of our lives.

To do this we must be committed to becoming honest, vulnerable and exposed with ourselves. We must be brave enough to own our truth – not the one others ascribe to us, or the one we would like to choose for somewhere outside of ourselves – our truth just is, and we find it within our tender, wounded, doubting hearts.

This is a time for exploring and owning what has been repressed, forgotten or shoved to one side in our lives.

It’s a great time to facilitate a gathering awareness of our truth and a strengthening sense of wholeness for ourselves.

And wholeness gives us hope, strength, valor and inspiration.

Let’s Begin!

Choosing a Crystal

You may wish to choose a crystal to work with this week. It is entirely optional, and you’d be fine without one too – but for my fellow rock lovers, read on…

You can hold this crystal as you write or meditate, place it under your pillow or beside your bed while you sleep, or carry it in your pocket to help you stay focused.

You could choose your stone based on what most appeals to you. That’s a very valid approach. But if you need a little direction, good crystals to work with this week include:

  • Clear Quartz or Quartz with Inclusions or Phantoms
  • Aragonite
  • Carnelian
  • Bloodstone
  • Unakite
  • Tiger Eye
  • Petrified Wood
  • Smoky Quartz
  • Red Jasper

Here’s what I’ll be using – it’s a Tibetan Chlorite Phantom Quartz with window. Feel free to let us know what kind of crystal you choose by leaving a comment below or over at our facebook page.

Journal Dedication:

Begin the challenge by writing this dedication in the front of your journal, and then signing your name and date.

Dear Universe,

I yearn to create a life for myself that is richly fulfilling. I am open now to truly understanding what it is that I need in order to thrive, to grow, to shine.

I understand that I deserve to be happy, and I am prepared to sit in vulnerability and truth in order to clear the obstacles to my happiness.

I am ready to own the parts of myself that I have cast aside. I am ready to embrace my fullness, my wholeness, my true and complete soul truth.

I understand that I am destined for more – being more, loving more, sharing more, having more.

Although I am uncertain, although I still cannot name all the changes I desire, my heart is open to them if they be for my Highest Good.

Today I honour my desire and intention for positive change, and I offer it up to you, trusting that I will be guided to discover the next steps, that I will be drawn to inspiration and opportunity, and that I can create a life for myself which is more expansive, more aligned to my purpose, more in flow.

My commitment to you is that for the next 4 weeks (and beyond) I am willing to explore and open to the possibilities of change, and to celebrate the many Blessings I already enjoy.

With love and gratitude,

Week One Meditation:

We can’t think, or be in flow, if we are stressed and uptight. This week, before you begin to reflect on and journal your exploratory questions, take a minute or two to perform this simple meditation.

Belly Breathing Technique

Before you begin writing, sit or lie quietly. Place your crystal in one hand and then put that hand over your heart. Place your other hand on your belly.

Visualise a colour in your crystal, or if you are just using your hands, visualise a colour in the palm of your hand above your heart. Breathe in to activate your hands and let that colour expand, so that it links both of your hands. You’ll now have a glow of coloured energy sitting from your throat to your groin. That light is healing and energising. Don’t think about it too much. Just let it be there in the background. Close your eyes if it feels comfortable to do so.

Now take 6 deep breaths.

For each breath, when you inhale focus on your belly rising out further than your chest.

Take 6 long, slow and unforced breaths, gently allowing your hands to rise and fall with your chest and belly.

You’ll feel your body relax and unwind. You can stop after six breaths or do another cycle of six.

Now you’re ready to write!

Journal Questions:

You can choose any or all of the questions below. I suggest going with what resonates and repels for a good balance. Write as much or as little as you need. It could be three words or three pages. Spread it out over a week, or spend a solid hour or two over one day – it’s up to you! If you’re in flow, keep going and see where it takes you. Be ruthlessly honest. Be practical. No airy-fairy here please. We need tools we can work with.

If you’re using a crystal, hold it in your non-writing hand, or place it in your lap or pocket. Feel free to get yourself a beverage, or to sit in a coffee shop while you do this. Enjoy the process!

9f075be724fdb52e9cbaf54e87cc2472

Know that this journal work will provide a platform for future planning, growth and self-awareness. You’ll be coming back to these answers again in the future, so take your time and enjoy the process.

You can also write more in the future, taking yourself deeper and clearer each time you come back to that question. Trust that more will be revealed as your own wholeness is revealed.

If you don’t know how to answer something, ask yourself what am I resisting here? What can this teach me about myself? And then be brave and go deeper. Come back to that question again and again until you have clarity or at least a starting place for understanding or further action. If the question is impossible, seek help. A counselor, a healer, a trusted friend or adviser, or whomever else feels right to give you some guidance around this question.

  1. What does my physical body most need right now?
  2. How can I best ensure that my body can have these things it needs to thrive?
  3. Do I need to get help with my health, and what would that look like?
  4. What environments make me feel good?
  5. What helps me to have a restful night’s sleep? – How can I create more of that in my life?
  6. What movement and exercise does my body most need? How could I easily and realistically bring that into my life?
  7. What style of clothing helps me feel like my best and most authentic self?
  8. What self-care routines most nourish and heal me?
  9. What small things in my life that are a source of irritation can I deal with effectively now with just a small amount of effort or organisation?
  10. What big things in my life irritate or worry me, that I need to face up to and sort out or give to an expert to sort out on my behalf?
  11. What have I always believed about myself that is keeping me small?
  12. What have others told me about myself, or have made me conform to, which is limiting me and my happiness?
  13. Who is bad for me?
  14. Who would I benefit from seeing more of?
  15. Do I need more hugs and connection, or more personal space right now? How do I make this happen?
  16. What things have I stopped doing that used to make me happy?
  17. What things am I doing that make me unhappy or unbalanced right now?
  18. What am I stopping myself from doing?
I, Mother Earth by moonxels at deviantart

I, Mother Earth by moonxels at deviantart

And now for some dreaming and co-creating energy. Be informed by the writing you have done with your exploratory questions. Let yourself step into the energy of possibility and growth. Let yourself dream about how good life could be. Don’t limit yourself. This is about painting your canvas with the colours and energy that will shape a powerful positive future life. Write at least a paragraph. Be detailed and specific where you can.Truly imagine what your best life could be like. What do you look like? Where are you living? What does your day look like?

If you’re still not sure, then write it as a story, a fairy-tale that might one day come true. Don’t limit yourself. Be joyful in your creating! There are always the seeds of truth and possibility in dreams and imagination…

1. My desire and intention for my body and health that I am now creating is that…

2. My desire and intention for my love relationship that I am now creating (this could be with a life partner, yourself or even with God) is that…

3. My desire and intention for my lifestyle and work that I am now creating is that…

And remember to pop over to our facebook page this week. There will be extra rune guidance there for you. I’ll be giving away some lovely surprises and there will also be a party later this week where I’ll be on line to answer your questions and have some fun! Let’s make magic together. The world needs you and your gifts.

Lots of love, Nicole xx

Guided Meditation for Anchoring into the Expanding Universe

Image from ScienceNet

Image from ScienceNet

“You and I are all as much continuous with the physical universe as a wave is continuous with the ocean.”
~ Alan Wilson Watts

“To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter… to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring — these are some of the rewards of the simple life.”
~ John Burroughs, Leaf and Tendril

This last meditation in our series is designed to anchor us into the unfolding and ever-expanding energy of the Universe.

For this meditation you need:

1) A photograph of you as a small child or baby.

2) A photograph or even an object that belonged to one of your ancestors. Choose someone who is/was your grandparent, or even from the generations before that.

3) The crystal that we used in last week’s meditation, or one you have prepared for this meditation.

4) Something that you deeply desire to manifest in your life. Get clear about what that is. If you have time, journal about it to create as much detail as possible.

Image from Quotes In Space

You’ll need to set aside twenty minutes for this meditation. Sit or lie somewhere quietly, using pillows or blankets if needed to make yourself comfortable. Then simply close your eyes and follow the sound of my voice. It’s fine to let yourself fall asleep during the meditation, or immediately afterwards.

To listen to the meditation, click on the button below:

This meditation will help you to connect into your own soul’s energy, the energy of your ancestors, and to use intention to manifest your own unfolding reality.

Holding your crystal after this meditation will continue to strongly connect you into universal energy and universal consciousness, and will also help you to travel along the timeline during subsequent meditations or in the dream state.

Getting Ready for Our Final Guided Meditation

“Limitless undying love which shines around me like a million suns, it calls me on and on across the universe.”
~ John Lennon

A few weeks ago I started a series of seven weekly guided meditations, and tomorrow I shall bring you the final meditation for this series.

This last meditation is designed to anchor us into the unfolding energy of the Universe.

So, for you to make best use of tomorrow’s meditation, I need you to do a few simple things in preparation:

1) Find a photograph of you as a small child or baby.

2) Find a photograph or even an object that belonged to one of your ancestors. Choose someone who is/was your grandparent, or even from the generations before that.

3) Find the crystal that we used in last week’s meditation. If you did not join us for that meditation choose a stone or a crystal that feels good in your hands. Place it outside on the earth, rest it in the soil of a houseplant, or place it on a windowsill where it will get natural daylight and moonlight for at least six hours or overnight. Retrieve it tomorrow before we start the guided meditation.

4) Think of something that you deeply desire to manifest in your life. Get clear about what that is. If you have time, journal about it to create as much detail as possible.

That’s all you have to do. Enjoy your day, and I’ll see you tomorrow for a guided meditation that will help us to easily move into the universal energy of expansion, connection and manifestation. Much love to you, Nicole xx

5. What meaningful action can I take this week to support or uplift another?

Wishful Thinking versus Deliberate Action

“If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair.”
~ C. S. Lewis

“I’m a greater believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it”
~ Thomas Jefferson

Rollo shared a simple but profound wisdom during last night’s channelling session. We were taking about how to make 2014 different to all of the years that have been before it.

He suggested that we first think about what we wanted for 2014.

Then, he said, we needed to make a choice. We needed to get out of our heads.

We needed to move from wishful thinking to deliberate action.

So this morning I’m asking you…

What deliberate actions can you identify that will bring you closer to your goals and dreams?

Write them down.

And then do them!

Do them regularly, if they are the kind of actions which need to be repeated.

I look forward to seeing what magic you can create in your life! 🙂
