Isn’t it odd how much fatter a book gets when you’ve read it several times?” Mo had said…”As if something were left between the pages every time you read it. Feelings, thoughts, sounds, smells…and then, when you look at the book again many years later, you find yourself there, too, a slightly younger self, slightly different, as if the book had preserved you like a pressed flower…both strange and familiar.Cornelia Funke
This Quarter I am using the Sacred Earth Oracle Deck cards by Toni Carmine Salerno and Leela J. Williams, illustrated by Helena Nelson-Reed for my weekly oracle readings.
Our card to guide us for the week ahead is REACTION. It’s a week for journeying back into past versions of ourselves, looking for clues about who we are, what matters to us, what we need to heal, and what we need to bring back from the edges to the center of our lives once more.
Did you ever feel like you lost yourself somehow?
Or that you were missing something?
This week’s energies help you to reconnect to those lost parts of yourself.
We lose ourselves when we put the happiness or wellbeing or sucess of others before our own. We lose ourselves when we hide parts of ourselves that might be judged, or where we fear rejection. We lose ourselves when we stop listening to our inner wisdom and allow others to choose for us. We lose ourselves when we become exhausted, overwhelmed, or suffer loss or illness.
REACTION reminds you that your feelings can guide you back to a stronger, clearer version of yourself. REACTION shows you that your feelings are a roadmap to take you from lost to found. It speaks to the tears we shed when we look through old pictures of happy times or loved ones no longer in our lives. It’s that strong feeling of care and love we feel for the child we were, the compassion or regret we feel for the mistakes we made, the unexpected joy of remembering a favourite song or activity. The sudden yearning for a new beginning, or to salvage something from the past, or a craving to create a different future for ourselves.
My Top Tip For The Week Ahead: Go back through old photo albums, old letters and cards, and old playlists. Talk with friends and family about the past. Look in your cupboards, your bookshelves and in the backs of drawers for reminders of who you were and who you hoped to become one day. You’ll find clues everywhere. Use them to inspire you to action. Then let me know what you found out about yourself!

There is still so much year left – it’s not too late to get started and to make the most of the months ahead. I have discounted the last few copies of my Journeymaker’s Planner to only $15.00 USD (that’s 50% off!) and this low price includes a comprehensive free online course. The Planner was created to help you learn to tap into your intuition, honor your heart’s path and follow your calling using skills like meditation, mindfulness, journaling, self-care, intuitive card reading, energy work, and much more. This 368-page book is a spiritual toolkit disguised as a diary & planner.
There are 52 pages of rituals, information and activities to help you make the most of this year. Read about the energies of 2021 and how to make the most of them. The Planner is then divided into Quarters, each with a theme to support you. Every month starts with guidance for the energies ahead, and suggestions for crystals, gemstones and essential oils. After each Quarter you’ll find a review to help you learn, grow and plan. There are full year calendars for 2021 and 2022, monthly calendars showing moon phases and astronomical events, and week-by-week diary pages for you to plan your days.

I took a couple of days off and had a proper weekend, after some medical tests and appointments late last week. That’s the thing with chronic illness – no matter how well I become, or how my illness might sit in the background, it’s still there. It’s just not something I talk about every day. So, there are still doctors’ appointments, tests, results, tweaking of protocols and constant monitoring and adjustments that happen behind the scenes. And by Friday I was ready for some quiet unplugged nurture time.
This week I’m getting reading to run a big healing meditation with my Inner Circle group ( I love these live events) and I’m working on creating some new routines for myself as we start to settle in to living on the coast. I am still pinching myself as we walk around in our new treehouse. It still feels a little like we are staying in a serviced apartment or a holiday house, and I have to keep reminding myself THIS IS MY HOME!!! We need rugs on the floors, and cushions for the couches, and to bring up all our bookcases that are in storage, and to hang some art on the walls, but I figure we have all the time in the world for that.
The big news this week is that Ben finally found the box that had our drinking glasses and wine glasses and coffee mugs. We’ve had three small Nutella glasses with Christmas Scenes on them (one is still full of Nutella and is sitting in my pantry!), and a couple of camping mugs, and that is what we have been using. It actually felt weird to drink wine out of a wine glass with my dinner the other night. I have become so fond of those little Nutella glasses!
I’m going to keep these funny sweet glasses. They remind me of glasses we had as children with happy prints on them. Choosing a glass with the right picture to support how I was feeling was a bit of a ritual back then, and it’s one I might reintroduce. I think there’s always room for a little more childhood magic in our adult lives.
Alright, lovelies – go make the most of this week. Get a little nostalgic, and go rescue the parts of you stuck in the past that could brighten your today or tomorrow.
Biggest love, hope and optimism, Nicole xx
