“A woman who lives with the stress of an overwhelmed schedule will often ache with the sadness of an underwhelmed soul.”
– Lysa Terkeurst
Hello, Lovelies!
This Quarter I am using The Sacred She Oracle by Ma Deva Padma for my weekly oracle readings.
Our card to guide us for the week ahead is 10. OVERLOAD.
2024 is a year for fresh starts, for creativity, healing and social connection. It’s a year for ambitious projects and for getting stuff done.
May is a month for trying things out, for being playful and embracing social connection. It’s a great month for supporting your health and wellness, and for developing routines and habits that move you slowly but surely towards your goals.
This week’s card brings an important message. Are you feeling overwhelmed, and if so, why?
No-one can run on stress, adrenaline, caffeine and stubborn determination indefinitely. While we all go through periods where the Universe seems to throw everything at us, that shouldn’t be what our everyday life looks like.
This week you’re encouraged to look at what is bogging you down, and then do something about it. Let go of guilt. Let go of ‘should’ and ‘have to’. Let go of people who don’t pull their weight.
Are there tasks or responsibilities you can delegate or outsource? Are there other members of your family our household who can pitch in with money, chores and cooking? Even young children can make a bed, pick up their toys, feed the pet, or stack the dishwasher. In fact, that’s how kids learn life skills.
Stuck on something? Sometimes the hardest thing is the thinking about the thing you are procrastinating about. When you take action and make a start it often turns out to be easier or quicker than you imagined. Schedule time to get that thing done. You’ll feel so much better when you can cross it off your list.
Worried about money? Can you reduce debt by selling something, swapping to a smaller home or a less fancy car? Can you speak to the banks and creditors about a payment plan?
If you’re working too many hours can you ask for a pay rise, ask for another team member, look for a better job? Or ask someone else in your household to contribute more money or more help? If you’re working for yourself and it’s not working can you get a coach, outsource some tasks, bring in a new team member, take a part-time job, go get a full-time job you love with good pay and benefits?
Are you feeling over-responsible for the happiness and wellbeing of everyone else in your life at the expense of your own happiness, goals and dreams? This week, choose you. Spend some time on what matters to you, even if all you can spare is fifteen minutes. If you don’t, who will? If this is hard to do, consider counselling or coaching.
Most of our community are energetically sensitive. Know that one of the most important ways to move out of overwhelm, and to decompress, is to have quiet time on your own. Work out some ways to get that solitude for yourself this week. Time where you don’t have to interact with anyone, or be in anyone else’s space (sometimes being surrounded by strangers – e.g. at a library or coffee shop – can give you that space too). If all else fails, go for a long walk or have an early night. Peace and solitude is restorative for the soul.
My Top Tip For The Week Ahead
Journal it out! What’s bothering you? Sit down and pour it all out on the page. You’ll be amazed at what can show up when you take time to write it down. Then ask yourself ‘How can I fix this?’ and write that down too. Journalling helps you tap into your inner wisdom, and often provides solutions and guidance that can move you out of stuck and back towards flow.
Crystals to support you this week – Carnelian, Amethyst, Red Jasper, Sodalite, Hematite, Tourmaline
It’s been a fabulous weather week, here at the Treehouse. I don’t think I have ever loved living anywhere as much as I love living here on the Sunshine Coast. At this time of year (Autumn) the days are sunny and comfortably warm, and the nights are cool and crisp with lots of stars. It feels all clean and sparkly-fresh. So much nature, space and salt breeze.
This infectiously happy-making weather led to me deciding spontaneously to pack a beach picnic and head down the road to watch the sunset at our favourite local spot a few nights ago.
I felt compelled to grab Ben, a few beers (and I am not really even a beer girl), some snacks and a picnic rug just as the sun was going down. It was cold, but beautiful, and within ten minutes of our arrival the beach was empty, so it felt like we were the only people in the world. Romance much! Plus we ended up seeing a UPA (unexplained aerial phenomena) which was weird but very cool.
Other highlights this week? Big Mama snake who loves to hang out in the tree outside my writing room, and whose new sunbathing spot is in the agapanthus off my back deck. And Harry Dog, whose favouritest thing is to go for a car ride in the morning and get a bone biscuit for being a good boy.
And me? When I’m not working with clients I am madly plotting, writing and creating. And that feels GOOD.
How about you? Have you managed to find some time to work on something you love, or do something that makes your heart sing? Don’t forget all of life’s simple pleasures. They are often the best ones!
Hugs, love, cups of chai and an excellent play list, Nicole xx
