A Chance To Break Free – Monday Oracle 10 June 2024

“The best way to predict the future is to invent it.”

~ Alan Kay

Hello, Lovelies!

This Quarter I am using The Sacred She Oracle by Ma Deva Padma for my weekly oracle readings.

Our card to guide us for the week ahead is 2. RESTRAINT

2024 is a year for fresh starts, for creativity, healing and social connection. It’s a year for ambitious projects and for getting stuff done.

June encourages you to focus on your life direction – reflecting on what is working for you, and what you would like to change. It’s a month of creativity and innovation, of heightened psychic perception and intuition, and a deep need to be honest with yourself about your life.

2. RESTRAINT

This week’s energies are all about recognising two things:

  1. Where you need to create better boundaries.
  2. Where you need to break free of old limitations.

Boundaries work in two ways. For others, they show people where you stand in regards to the behaviour of others – what you will and won’t accept. It helps people navigate their relationship with you, and you with them. For yourself, boundaries around your own behaviour help you to exercise self-restraint and self-discipline, and to live by your own personal code of ethics and beliefs. This week, re-examine your boundaries. Is there anywhere they need to be tightened, explained, asserted or changed?

Limitations are the rules, social mores and beliefs imposed by others or yourself, that prevent you from full self-expression. It’s time to identify limitations that make holding you back. Perhaps you were brought up to believe that good women are quiet and well-behaved, or that it’s always better to put the needs of others before yourself. Maybe you’ve grown up believing that success happens to other people, or that you’re not talented enough, smart enough, capable enough, or some other thing. Maybe you’re keeping yourself small and safe because you are terrified of failure, or of drawing attention to yourself. Whatever the limitations, challenge them this week. Think about how you can slowly deconstruct them, and replace them with something more healthy and affirming. Small steps in the right direction are all you ever need.

One other thing. Got people in your life who constantly criticise you, make fun of you, make you feel ‘less than’ or put you or your ideas down? This week encourages you to call them out, to stand your ground, or to get ready to walk away. Life’s too short to be surrounded by people who treat you like that.

My Top Tip For The Week Ahead

Write a list of ten positive things you like about yourself, big or small. Then write a list of five times where you were successful, or proud of yourself. Then write five things that make you happy. Carry that information with you, and remind yourself that it is possible to be happy again, proud or successful again, and to feel better about yourself. Feel into those energies and draw them into your heart. Trust that as you do so, you are drawing more positive experiences to you.

Last week at the Treehouse I focused on rest and healing as much as I could.

We’re experimenting with my medications, supplements and thyroid meds right now. New changes have left me ragged with insomnia, body pain and raging thyroid insufficiency symptoms. It’s such a drag! But I am committed to the scientific process of trialling a certain regime and getting evidence through various blood and other medical tests before we alter anything, so we know what does and doesn’t work.

How does anyone survive on chronic pain and no sleep? I know it’s not something I can do indefinitely. I am grateful this experiment is finite.

I was listening to my good friend Carly-Jay Metcalfe’s beautiful memoir Breath over the weekend. If you haven’t read or listened to it yet, do yourself a favour and grab a copy. She talks about her life with cystic fibrosis, and as the recipient of a double lung transplant. It covers big themes of family and friendship, chronic illness, love, loss, grief, survivor guilt, and trauma with a wicked sense of humor and grace. Carls also talks about death and dying, a subject that has always been close to my heart. You’ll finish the book a better person than when you started – more connected back to yourself, your truth, and your own beautiful life – especially if your own life has been touched by illness, loss, grief and incapacity.

This week? More rest for me. And writing. And a whole lot of deep reflection on my life. Where I’ve been and where I’m going. It’s that kind of a week, and I’m looking forward to it.
Love, journal writing, mugs of herbal tea, and winter sunshine, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.
