The Energies of July – 2017

Hello, Lovelies :)

Here we are at July. It’s a perfect time for reflecting on how the first half of the year has gone for us, to gather our lessons and wisdoms, and then to determine a path forwards for the remainder of 2017.

If I were to sum up July in a sentence it would be this: Be brave enough to share your innermost self in all its vulnerability and the world will crack wide open for you. July is a month of connection. It’s a month for nurturing relationships, for family and community, and for your relationship with yourself and with Spirit (however you perceive that to be).

July is also a time of answers, clarity, signs and direction. Use this time to focus yourself and to really concentrate your energy and time where it matters most to you.

Cards for the Month:

I’ve chosen two cards for July for you: one from the Osho Zen Tarot Deck, and one from Colette Baron-Reid’s Wisdom of the Oracle. Please note I don’t use these cards in the conventional way, but rather as a stimulus for channelled information.

July helps us to see our place within the bigger scheme of things. We are a leaf in a much bigger family tree. So much bigger than we often acknowledge. Ancestral and family links and wisdom play a big part in our continued healing and growth this month.

Often we feel inadequate to live as the vision we have for ourselves in the world. July urges us to move past that fear and to begin sharing our story honestly and openly.

July helps us to see and understand the inter-connectedness of life. Faith and time with God, Spirit, Guides, Angels, our Muse, our art and ourselves is important and necessary this month.

Answers, signs and helpful moments are also part of July’s reassuring and delicious energy. We’re reminded that when we are authentic and intuitive in the world our love-life, our friendships, our careers and our businesses will begin to thrive.

July warrants some quiet time too this month; with our loved ones, on our own, in nature, with God (or whatever that energy is to you.)

It’s a soul-full month filled with gratitude and a sense of peace, answers and awareness.

 

The second card I’ve chosen is Treasure Island. The picture captures so well magic and synchronicity that comes from living from our hearts, and doing what matters to us. It’s a month to anchor abundance for the months to come. A foundation month for building wealth.

July brings all kinds of opportunities and possibilities to us. Some of them will come disguised as hard work. Some of them will come disguised as very small beginnings, new connections and the sorts of things that you cannot see any use for yet. You might get a new idea without any clear direction. A snippet of a song. A scene for a book. A product for a business you haven’t even started.

Life’s funny like that. All manner of goodness sneaks into our lives in July, but we might only be able to recognise that in retrospect.

Treasure Island entreats us to stay open to possibility in July, and to trust in good outcomes and a benevolent Universe.

Best crystals this month?

Yellow Turquoise (Serpentine) and Blue Obsidian

Yellow Turquoise is not a true Turquoise, but a form of Serpentine and Jasper with Hematite inclusions. If you are unable to source it, use Serpentine. Yellow Turquoise supports insights and wisdoms in meditation and is an incredibly soothing stone which promotes inner peace.

Blue Obsidian supports your throat chakra and all forms of communication, and helps you to truly know yourself. A great stone to hold when doing intuitive readings for self or others.

Essential oils to support your journey?

Each of the following oils will work beautifully on their own for you this month, but they also make a delicious combination for diffusing. The essential oils you will find helpful in July are Orange, Lavender, Frankincense, and Jasmine. Orange creates a relaxing space for emotional and spiritual connection, Lavender keeps us in flow and relaxed, Frankincense is uplifting and supportive – especially when you feel anxious or overwhelmed, and Jasmine gifts us joy, optimism and self-confidence. To diffuse add 2 or three drops of each oil to your room or personal diffuser. July brings some sunshine into our lives again, but if we’ve been living in a dark room it is our job to throw open the curtains.

The Energies of June – 2017

Suddenly, here we are at June. June is a gentle month of revitalisation, redirection and emotional and physical nourishment. I’m so up for that. How about you?

 

Cards for the Month:

June lifts us to a higher awareness around our past. It’s a time to lift up out of adversity and to trust in new directions. No need to agonise anymore. It’s easy to let go and move on. It’s time to tell ourselves a better story based on our past – one that is helpful and liberating, rather than one which keeps us trapped.

We begin to move into flow and things just start working more easily for us. We’re encouraged to work with others and to create teams and tribes, to share our stories and to share what we know in service to others. Joy for life infuses each cell of our body.

It’s a month that suits working on our physical and emotional health, and it’s a super time for detoxing, starting a new eating plan or getting your body moving again – all from a place of profound love and self-acceptance of what has been as well as allowing of what may come.

It’s an incredible month for psychic connection and for all forms of art, movement, music and writing. Expect divine inspiration and flow of ideas and support. Quite simply, it’s a month of magical connection and shift!

 

The second card I’ve chosen is To The Sea. What a beautiful image of hope, restoration and direction.

When we trust and step forward into the flow of life, that flow will carry us forward – out of stuckness, out of the old – and in directions we may possibly have never imagined for ourselves.

The river started as a small trickle. That trickle followed its true nature and kept moving. Soon it became a river. Unstoppable. With a momentum and power all its own.

When you jump into the river, the river will carry you. To The Sea reminds us that life is a mystery, and the secret to life is to be in flow with it.

How do you do that? How do you be in flow?
Stop thinking so much and start trusting. Feel into things. Act from intuition. Listen to your heart. Practice kindness with yourself, and check in often to work out how you truly feel and what sparks of interest or action lie within you. Follow those sparks.

In June, trust in the bigger picture. Trust your senses. Take a risk on what you want. See where life takes you!

Blue Quartz and Green Chrysoprase

 Blue Quartz  is a profoundly calming stone that opens us to a state of flow and grace. Excellent for helping us to speak up. Supports throat and third eye chakras.

Green Chrysoprase opens our heart to love, joy, self acceptance and deep compassion for self and others. It also dissolves blocks to abundance in all forms.

The Energies of May – 2017

Breathe a sigh of relief. May is here with her gentle heart-nurturing energies, after the upheavals, revelations and hard work of April.

We’ve identified or faced the difficult stuff, and now that we know where we stand the only way for us to move is forward. Of course May also reminds us that we might need a cup of tea and a nap first – and that’s perfectly okay!

May is a heart-centred month. Our little soul garden has such potential for blooming and flourishing now. May encourages us to get out of the shadow of others and shine our own light. It’s a month where projects and ideas can thrive and we begin to trust our own judgement.

It’s a month where we can develop deep and lasting love connections, and where we can finally heal from the pain of previous heartbreak – whatever the cause.

May shows us how to be independent in love, rather than collapsing into relationships and situations that swallow us whole so that we lose our sense of self or surrender what is dear to us in order that a relationship might work. In May we see that losing ourselves in love isn’t the way to love anyone, especially ourselves.

May is also a great month for overcoming addictions, and healing our body, mind and spirit of deep wounds and traumas so that we can stand strong again.

The second card I’ve chosen is Peace. In May we are encouraged to drop the things from our lives that pull us into craziness, pain or chaos. Strong boundaries may be needed. It’s also a time for forgiveness, no matter how long a burden of pain has been carried.

If you do one thing in May, let it be an act of forgiveness. Forgiveness untethers you from being stuck in the past. It gives you wings. It gifts you freedom. It restores peace. Sometimes, that is also the precious gift your forgiveness gives someone else.

Forgiveness ultimately is about freeing yourself, even if it is someone else you are forgiving. Remember that. It never validates or justifies what happened. It merely says that you are going to put the burden of this heavy thing down now, so that your energy can flow again and you can move away from the pain.

Forgives needs to start with yourself. Every day is a fresh beginning, if only you will allow that. You woke up this morning different to who you were yesterday. Sometimes the change is big. Sometimes it is infinitesimally small. But you changed. So did the other people on this planet. Allow for that possibility in yourself and others, while always maintaining kindness, compassion and common sense.

If you extend an olive branch to another and it is rejected? Be at peace with that. Respect that other person’s choices. Let it be peaceful on your side of the relationship. Be glad that you tried. Flow love anyway. Know that no might not mean never – it might simply not be the right timing yet.

Create space in your life for quiet and peace this month. Find a space that can be your sanctuary or create one. (Not sure how to do that? My lovely friend Helen Joy Butler can help. Go check out her website here)

Rhodonite is a stone of compassion and love that supports the heart chakra and aids emotional healing. It really bolsters our emotional resilience too.

Is Perfection Your Secret Disease? – Oracle for Monday 6 March 2017

Hello, Lovelies!

The oracle card I have chosen to guide us this week is ‘Perfection’ from the Chakra Wisdom Oracle Deck by Tori Hartman.

If you read my forecast for March, you’ll remember that March is all about creating systems and structures which make your everyday life more supported and sustainable.

So, what gifts does Perfection bring for you this week?

Perfection is a trap that steals time, momentum and positivity. It’s a sickness, a weakness that masquerades as something worthy.

We tell ourselves that we strive for perfection because we care so much. We want to do a good job. We want to get it right. We hold ourselves to a high standard.

In fact, sometimes we can’t even see that the reason we’re not moving forward is a perfection thing.

But so often it’s a perfection thing…

Perfection stops us from making decisions. Because what if there is a better one? What if we get it wrong? What if what we choose or decide fails us in some way?

Perfection stops us from even starting.

Instead we build entire worlds in our heads about how it could look, or even worse how it should have looked. (Yep, we spend time looking at the past, wishing we could have done things differently!) We use all our energy on thinking and worrying and comparing instead of simply DOING.

Perfection gets us into such a knot of not-good-enough that we procrastinate endlessly, and wear ourselves down into dust. We’re exhausted and spent before we even begin.

Perfection is an insidious disease that robs us of momentum, optimism and satisfaction.

This week the Perfection card reminds us to stop for a moment and examine our patterns of thought. And to look carefully at our patterns of action, or inaction.

What’s stopping you? What thoughts are going through your head? What’s worrying you? Why are you hesitating?

If necessary get it all down on paper. Just to get it out where you can see it clearly instead of having all those subversive joy-killing thoughts at the back of your head.

Then find a starting point and DO SOMETHING.

Not starting because of fear of failing is actually failing anyway. Had you ever realised that?

So – say yes. Or no. Start something. End something. Get some action happening and some choices made.

You may feel very wobbly as you start out, but action creates momentum and momentum creates stability and clarity. If you keep waiting, not doing anything, that clarity and momentum will continue to elude you. And you’ll stay a victim of the perfection disease.

Be a beginner, and then keep going. That’s how you get to mastery.

But above all, just be yourself!

Supportive crystals this week?

Lapis Lazuli is a stand out for its ability to strengthen both wisdom and self-belief. Carnelian is fabulous for energy, courage and creativity. Tourmaline in Quartz will build courage and help you to stand by your choices and decisions. Sodalite will help you to understand and speak your truth.

Helpful essential oils?

Young Living’s Believe or Common Sense essential oil blends are good choices this week. Believe works to boost our self-confidence and self-belief.  Common Sense oil is a super stress-buster that will help with allowing you to become clear about what you want, and to feel secure with your choices and decisions, especially around change. If you want to make your own combination or use a single oil, choose from grapefruit, basil, geranium and frankincense. Use one to two drops of each in your diffuser – they blend beautifully together.

Somehow in the past few days we have reached a new magical number.

It’s a long way from when I started this blog, thinking no-one would ever read it, and being ecstatic when my daily readership hit two figures. (Eleven. I got eleven readers in one day!!!)

So, I just wanted to say thank you.

Thanks for reading. Thanks for the gift of friendship. Thanks for the beautiful community that you have helped to create. Thanks for sharing the journey with me, and for being with me through the good times and life’s challenges too.

You’re the reason I get up every morning and keep writing.

February Full Moon Eclipse Tonight – Plus a Colouring Mandala for You!

“Sorrow prepares you for joy. It violently sweeps everything out of your house, so that new joy can find space to enter. It shakes the yellow leaves from the bough of your heart, so that fresh, green leaves can grow in their place. It pulls up the rotten roots, so that new roots hidden beneath have room to grow. Tonight (Friday 10th through to Saturday 11th of February) is a full moon. It is also a lunar eclipse. And the heavens are host to a comet rocketing past us as it travels through the night sky.

Can you feel the energies this trio bring? This week you may have found yourself restless, anxious or unable to sleep. Old emotions of fear and doubt and not-good-enough may have raised their ugly heads.

You may have felt churned. You may have over-reacted. You may not have been quite yourself. You may have felt emotionally bruised and more than a little battered.

It’s okay. This lunar energy is strong!

Everything’s being stirred up. What’s no longer needed and what is ready to be healed or finally seen and understood is being brought to the surface.

Just behind all that fear and anxiousness is possibility. It’s also a great time for clear insights, inspiration and breakthroughs. It heralds a shift towards understanding and connection.

Some of you who’ve already done a lot of self-work will have felt excited this week. You’ll feel like finally you are back on track and able to gain some momentum for your projects, ideas and dreams. That’s wonderful. Thank you, Full Moon!

Remember to put your crystals out in the moonlight tonight for a cleanse and recharge. And if you can, take time to sit under the night sky and simply breathe. Breathe and let go of all of that old stuck emotion. Cry if you must. Howl at the moon.

Surrender.

Then come back to calm and breathe in hope. Breathe in possibility. Open yourself to change.

It’s a great time for journalling and self-reflection. I’ve also included a simple Meditation Mandala for you below. You can download and colour it as an act of mindfullness, healing and manifestation – today or in the next few days while the energies of the moon, comet and eclipse have influence.

Colouring Mandala and Crystal Grid

This mandala was created as one of the activities for our Year of ME Planner community. (It’s not too late to join. You can find out more here: Year of Me Planner Options)

You can download your Meditation Mandala here: February Mandala 2017

Print out the Mandala and consider what support you are seeking from the Universe this month around the energies of believing in yourself and your dreams, and making big changes in your life.  Where are you stuck? What’s not working, or where would you like additional support? What do you need help with?

Write your request in the space provided on the Mandala sheet.

Now colour your Mandala. Choose the colours that feel intuitively right for you. As you colour your Mandala, repeat the February affirmation which is written at the top of the Mandala. Feel the energy and truth of that affirmation for you. While you colour your Mandala think about this thing that you want support for, and how it would feel for this thing to be working well in your life.

Allow yourself to fill with love and positive emotion, or a sense of peace.

Emotion may come up for you as you colour. Allow it to surface and don’t judge it. Know that it is simply releasing and clearing for you.

When your Mandala is finished, place a crystal at the centre of the Mandala to make a simple grid. You may also make a pattern of additional stones, flowers, leaves or other small objects on top of your coloured Mandala if you wish. Go with what feels intuitively right for you.

Run white light from your hands down into the crystal and then out into the Mandala to activate it. Repeat your affirmation and your request to the Universe out loud as you do this. Finish by saying ‘And it is so’.

Leave your Mandala up for a minimum of 24 hours with the stone in place. Of course you’re welcome to leave it longer if you desire.

To deconstruct the Mandala remove the stone and offer a simple and heartfelt prayer of thanks.

PS – This month I also encourage you to download and colour a second mandala for the world as it goes through upheaval and change. Choose whatever stones feel right for the earth or the situation you want to support and work with. Know that your positive energy and intention as you create this world grid really helps to anchor love and light.

Acceptance – A Short Documentary about Owning Who You Are

Last year I invited my friend Kerry Warnholtz to come spend some time with me as I prepared for and then ran my Chakra Wisdoms retreat.

Kerry is a talented photographer and videographer who sees the world through soulful and ever-watchful eyes. I hoped that she might be able to capture some footage and a few stills for my new website. My brief to her was that I wanted her to somehow show the love and care I put into each event that I run, and how precious each of my students is to me – how much I take that teaching and mentoring responsibility into my heart.

Kerry didn’t just capture that – she captured me – a little snapshot into my life, and the struggles I have had in coming to a place of self-acceptance. This short film speaks a lot to my WHY – why I do what I do – and I thought many of you might relate to the struggles I had in my earlier life to accept myself as I am.

What I want you to know, more than anything, is that I believe in you and that I want you to be who you are and be true to yourself. Being you is the most important thing you can do, and it’s time. The world needs us to stop pretending to be who we are not or to represent ourselves in the world as less than we are. It’s time to embrace ourselves and each other in all of our glorious diversity and similarity.

So, watch this little documentary. Come meet me at my farm, and in my life, and know that you are always welcome at my table.
