“He judged the instant and let go; he flung himself loose into the stars.”
~Annie Dillard
Hello, Lovelies,
Here’s Monday’s oracle card, and my energetic forecast for the week ahead. I use any cards shown as a prompt for channelled messages and my own intuitive wisdom, so my take is sometimes quite different to the meaning found in a book. ‘Release’ is from the Chakra Wisdom Oracle Deck by Tori Hartman.
If you read my forecast for August, you’ll remember that August brings an emerging energy of creativity, emotional healing and an abiding need for more balance in our lives.
Keep that in mind as we look at the gifts Release brings us this week.
In writing, there is a popular piece of advice about how to make your manuscript stronger – that advice, first attributed to William Faulkner, is to ‘kill your darlings’.
This week that’s a great summary of what we’re being supported to do. But what does it mean?
When a writer comes to edit their finished manuscript it is important to trim away any weak writing, any poorly drawn characters, anything that doesn’t propel the story forward. Pruning back unnecessary words in our work makes it stronger. Problem is, if you’ve slaved away on that manuscript you might be pretty attached to some of that writing. Hence the expression ‘kill your darlings.’ Even if you love it, if it doesn’t work you need to be brave enough to remove it!

Let’s apply that wisdom to your life. Where are you clinging to something that is actually holding you back from evolving or moving forward?
Where are you trying so hard to make something work that you’ve lost sight of whether you even want this thing anymore?
Letting go of the ideas, projects, relationships, situations and creative dreams that you’ve grown past or that no longer align to your values or the person you’ve become allows room for new energies to come into your life – energies better suited to where you’re going rather than where you’ve been.
What is it time to let go of in your life?
Supportive crystals this week?
Nephrite Jade (Greenstone) is a stone that supports heart-centred living and emotional expression in life and in art. Carnelian energises and grounds the physical body and aids all forms of healing and creativity – great for overcoming exhaustion and burnout. Fluorite helps us to be honest, objective and innovative with our creativity. Pearls nurture us, helping us to heal the pain of breaking up and moving on from an idea, situation or relationship.

Helpful essential oils?
Young Living’s Believe essential oil blend, or a combination (or singly!) of any of Lavender, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang and Orange. Believe essential oil blend is uplifting and promotes confidence, spiritual connection, clarity and belief in ourselves. It also helps us to let go of fear, doubt and old emotional pain and hurt. I often use this oil when I am writing or journalling, or working with cards for myself.
I choose to use Young Living essential oils because of their quality and energies. You can find all the oils here.
This week hold true to your creative dreams, prune out and let go of what no longer serves you, rest when you need to and make some time for deepening your connection to existing or new projects and dreams. Holding you, as always, in my thoughts, prayers and meditations, and intending for a you a life of abundance and joy, where you are no longer limited by your doubts.
All my love, Nicole ❤ xx
I always read, I don’t often comment. Thank you for spreading this support. You are a true encourager. Blessings.
Very apt for me as I quit alcohol 7 days ago having realised I had a bit of a problem and in a couple of days I will also quit smoking. Thanks for the inspiration!
Another amazing post
Sigh! This advice resonates with me so much at the moment. I reached this point a little while back and it has been hitting me in the face again again recently until I have had to stand tall and make hard decisions to follow my heart. I have trod this path before…went on adventure and found where I belonged…then got scared at the beauty and self assuredness of the new me and turned tail and ran literally back to where I thought I belonged…physically moved back to where I had lived before my adventure. When I got there however I was not the same person I had been. I no longer belonged there and I had grown bigger than the space I was designated by those who knew me ‘before’. Now I have realised that my growth has allowed me to reach new horizons and new levels of happiness and is not bad or scary. I am now on my path to return to my place of expansion and self assuredress. …step by step but this time I’m not afraid of the adventure and the person I’ll be on the other side.
I know just what you mean x
Hello Nicole
This brings a song to my heart as this week I have created the space for me. I have been so busy and need time to stop. This is the perfect week with your reading to really look at my life – there are projects that have started and stopped but are now loudly nudging me to get going again. I have sat with this for a bit and its now time. I have come to a point after a relationship separation that it is ok to let it go. It was familiar but I was holding me back.
I can sense a newness in my world and I am looking forward to seeing what will show up.
Much love and blessings xx
