Spirituality is recognizing and celebrating that we are all inextricably connected to each other by a power greater than all of us, and that our connection to that power and to one another is grounded in love and compassion. Practicing spirituality brings a sense of perspective, meaning and purpose to our lives.

December is a month for slowing down, for rest, reconnection and returning to nature. This month also holds strong energies of Ancestor and Elder connection. Keep December’s energy in mind as we look at the gifts of inspiration which the card SPIDER brings us.
The Message of SPIDER
SPIDER sits at the centre of her universe, weaving and tending to her web. That web, in turn, is connected to the world around her. When the wind blows, SPIDER feels it. When it rains, SPIDER harvests the drops. The web connects her to everything that matters in her life. When the web breaks she repairs it, and makes it stronger. If the web does not work in the place where she has built it, she moves to a better spot and starts again. SPIDER feels everything through her connection to the web, and through the web to the all-that-is. That is how she knows and understands her own place in the world.
Her message to us this week is simple, but important.
Tending to your web is an act of creativity, trust and spiritual devotion. Tend to your home this week. Your home may be the place where you live. It may be the energy and services you put out into the world. Tidy your home, repair it, make it feel like yours, make it something that serves you well, make it work for you. If it doesn’t work, and can’t ever work, look for a better place and start again.
Tend to your connections. Reach out and check on your loved ones. Make time for what matters. Protect your boundaries. If you have the strength and energy for it, reach wider still. Who else can you connect into, who else can you check on and include?
Finally, know that your spider senses will be strong this week. Your intuition and psychic sensitivity will be heightened. They are nothing to fear. They are natural and good. Use them well.

It relieves stress and nurtures the body and emotions. It also connects you to the plant and animal kingdoms and the earth’s Nature Spirits and Ancients.
