Half of the troubles of this life can be traced to saying yes too quickly and not saying no soon enough.

Hello, Lovelies!
This Quarter I am using the Nature’s Whispers Oracle Cards by Angela Hartfield, with artwork by Josephine Wall, for my weekly oracle readings.
Our card to guide us for the week ahead is 45 – EMPOWERMENT. December is a month for slowing down, for reconnecting with our hearts and our loved ones, for celebrating how far we’ve come, and dreaming about how far we want to go. EMPOWERMENT reminds us of the power within us, that helps us to align with those things.
EMPOWERMENT encourages you to say YES to the things that your soul craves, that your heart yearns for, the things that give you a sense of comfort or relief or joy. It also encourages you to say NO to the things that stress and upset you, and that exhaust you or where you feel you’d be going against your values and needs. This is a week to meet your own needs.
This can be especially hard for empaths, intuitives and highly sensitive souls, because we are naturally wired to be aware of the needs of others, and to help wherever we can. In helping others we often forget to take care of ourselves. Often, it also makes us pleasers – where we put the happiness of others before our own, because we think that’s what love is.
Let’s get that sorted, shall we?
Step One
Tune in to yourself right now. How are you feeling? How much energy do you have? What are you worried about? What are you excited or curious about?
Step Two
What do you need? Are you hungry, thirsty, tired, overwhelmed? Do you have a project that just isn’t getting done? Is there something you said yes to, but in your heart it was always a no? Is there something you said no to, but your heart is secretly longing to say yes?
Step Three
What do you need to do to meet that need? Is it something you can do for yourself? Do you need to stop doing something? Do you need to start doing something? Do you need to ask for help? Do you need to schedule time for this thing, or consult an expert?
Step Four
Go ahead and speak your truth. Ask for help. Say yes. Say no. Make time. Set boundaries. Do the thing. Don’t do the thing. You know what you need. Honour that with your actions, not just your thoughts.
Why Do You Need To Do This For Yourself?
No-one else is responsible for your happiness. No-one is coming to save you, or to sort you out. This isn’t a test to see how much someone truly loves you, because if they loved you they would just KNOW what you need. (Please, don’t ever do that – that’s just screwed up thinking!) This is your job. You already have practice in helping others, encouraging them, guiding them or meeting their needs. So, you know how it’s done.
This week is the perfect time to start owning your needs and meeting them for yourself.
If not now, when?
If not you, who?
It’s time. By looking after yourself and your needs you can become more authentically yourself, more empowered, happier, stronger and more resilient. You become a better version of yourself.
I’m cheering you on.
My Top Tip For The Week Ahead:
Give yourself the gift of The Pause. Pause for a moment, before you speak, before you commit, and tune in. Is this what you really want? Go with your gut and your inner wisdom every time!

Ben and I finally put up our Christmas Tree.
It’s such an old tree. At least thirty years old. And small – so we have to stand it on a box.
We smothered it in tinsel and decorations and flashing lights. There’s not much artful about our tree. It looks like a group of kinder kids high on red cordial got busy. Which is why we love it so much!
I felt very satisfied last night, when we turned off all the lights and sat in the dark, admiring our festive little tree. It’s very us. Real, and a bit dodgy. LOL.
On the writing front I’ve managed to keep working each morning on my NaNoWriMo novel. I’m at 60 844 words as of this morning (in fact, I got so lost in my story that I was late to blog!) and I’ve decided to give you regular updates to keep myself accountable.
I also have bag-fulls of goodies to post today that were wrapped and packed over the weekend.
If you pop over to my ETSY store you’ll see a new product. It’s organic Fair Trade Ylang-Ylang oil. Ylang-Ylang is our signature oil for 2022. It’s a sweet floral scent, uplifting and relaxing. I wanted to find an oil that met my own values, and that was also fairly priced and accessible. So, by a series of synchronicities I connected with an old friend, whose family has a Ylang-Ylang farm in the Pacific. I secured a complete harvest of this small organic fair-trade farm, and had it bottled under our own label. I’m really proud of it, and of its journey to you, and I’m getting rave reviews from my Inner Circle who had access to this oil before I brought it to the public. This is a very limited edition item. I won’t be able to secure more until the next harvest. I know you’re going to love it.

I’ll be doing my best to add a few more surprises into the ETSY this week too. My packing room is FULL of delicious things right now.
But enough of me and my updates. I am going for a walk with Ben and the pupsters right now, and then for an early morning coffee. Then I have Book Club for my Inner Circle this morning, and clients to work with later today.
Remember to grab your Journeymaker’s Planner for 2022 so you’ll be ready for my free challenge to help you make the most of the year.
Here are all the details:

Awesome post
this speaks to me directly today. i had to make a very tough decision and it hurt someone i care about, but i knew i couldn’t continue our relationship, knowing i could not give him the same he gave me, and not fair to him or me. due to my nurturer/empath nature it was torture hurting this very kind man, but better in the long run for both of us.
Very helpful… thanks Nicole ❤️❤️
I am so used to putting others first I sometimes don’t even know my needs. Or my dreams. Or myself. When I ask myself: “who am I” or “what do I want” I have difficulties to find an answer. So how sad is that?
Ha! I so needed to see this today. Speak my truth? Yea my throat chakra will get me in trouble for sure. What do I need? Solitude, like as in a cabin in a far, far away place … just me and my cats.
