Vale, Craig Ruddy

Sensitive people care when the world doesn’t because we understand waiting to be rescued and no one shows up. We have rescued ourselves, so many times that we have become self taught in the art of compassion for those forgotten.

Hey, Lovelies.

A short post today, to honour my friend Craig Ruddy who lost his life to COVID this week.

Craig was a gentle man, an artist, a deeply sensitive, intelligent and compassionate soul. He was a man who saw the world with his heart, who wrote his feelings large through his art, who carried bright the flame of social justice, whose kind eyes and warm smile sparked ease in everyone, and who loved to dance.

He will be deeply missed within the Byron community, and the wider world.

My thoughts are with Craig’s partner Roberto, his family and friends.

I’m homesick for the Shire for the first time this week.

Look after yourselves, and each other,

Love, and deep grief, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  5. Thank you for telling us of your friend. I read about him this morning and of his passing. The photo of him you have posted tells it all, it seems, his warmth and the brightness of his eyes. What a loss. I am so sorry Nicole. Thinking of you and his family and of the Byron Shire who will be feeling the tremor of this loss deeply.
