In our age of overwork, stress, social isolation, time pressure and exhaustion, it is increasingly important to know what fills you back up again, what makes you smile, what brings joy and happiness into your life.
What does happiness look like to you? If you don’t know, make it your mission to find out, and then make a list to put on your refrigerator, mirror, or somewhere you can be often reminded of these things and their importance in your life.
This is some of what happiness looks like to me:
♥ Browsing in bookshops, and finding some new treasure to take home.

♥ A shared meal with friends

♥ Going to the movies to see something on the big screen

♥ Wandering through the markets

♥ Travelling to new places and soaking up the atmosphere

♥ Losing myself in a book

♥ Hugs

♥ Time in nature

♥ Swimming in the ocean

♥ A cup of tea with friends

♥ Working on my book

♥ Snuggling up in bed with the one I love – or family cuddles

♥ Baking, and sharing my creations with others!

Life’s too short not to include lots of the things you love. Happiness is a choice. Remember to enjoy the journey. Much love to you ♥ xx
I LOVE the photo of the bookshop – I’m off to Paris at the end of the month & have only one day to fit everything in. We’re going to visit the ‘Love Lock Bridge’ (a bridge where lovers write their initials on a padlock, lock it onto the bridge & throw the keys into the River Seine to ‘lock’ their love for eternity)….a quick google search tells me that bookshop is only 5 mins walk from the bridge! Perfect! 🙂 xx
Hi! I could have sworn I’ve visited your blog before but after looking at some of the articles I realized it’s new to me.
Anyhow, I’m definitely pleased I discovered it and I’ll be book-marking it and checking back regularly!
Thanks Kelsey! Bless xoxo
Beautiful image 🙂
Thank you! 😀 xx
Your happiness list reminded me both of memories I cherish (swimming in Australia with my family members) and things I want to do (go to the Shakespeare bookstore in Paris!)
Much love and light to you for spreading the warmth and joy you do on this blog!
What is there not to love about book stores? Seems we have much in common 😀
Your list is beautiful Nicole!!! The pictures you used makes them even more beautiful!!!
Happiness for me now is having peaceful moments at home, listening to music, chatting with online friends, reading Blogs.
Yours is beautiful too. Music! How much it means to many of us. Music should be on my list for sure. Love to you ♥ xoxo
How nice….Happiness for me is in:
*Nature
*Moments on my own
*Dreaming
*Color and art
*Music
*Family times
*Memory Lane
*Relaxation sleep etc.
*Simple small pleasures of life, like the sunrise, rain etc.
Another lovely list! Seems we all have lots of similarities. Thanks for taking the time to share 😀 xx
All those same things! Nice to know so much makes me happy. Lovely post. :)))) Sam
It is nice to know! And it’s nice to know that most of these things are free or cost very little. Thanks for dropping by, Sam! {{{HUGS}}}
A lovely list Nicole. You won’t be surprised to hear that I would add visiting tearooms to my list. I’m writing a review of one at the moment, and just thinking about it as I tap away at my laptop makes me feel peaceful and happy. I’m so grateful to the many people who run wonderful eateries that provide a bit of escapism and enjoyment for their customers. I would also add walking through pine forests on a warm sunny day, seeing my family all enjoying each other’s company at a get-together, meeting up with old chums for a catch-up and listening to music that uplifts me. There are many other things too, and it’s lovely to think about them, thank you.
Loving your list, Lorna! I could add so much of it to my own. Your blog is on my list too, for that very reason – all your tearoom reviews and gorgeous pics always make me smile and feel all warm and loved up. xoxo
Aw, I feel all warm and loved up now, thank you. Your blog is on my list, too. 🙂 xoxo
Thanks for your continuing inspiration! I feel like I’m at a very important stage of my life, and I’m excited to make the best choices I can. So reading your posts is wonderful guidance for me. ( :
You’re so very welcome, Frank. Happy to be of service. 🙂

{{{HUGS}}} to you! And I have a special Mothers Day post for you too, that might also help. Much Love and many Blessings xoxo

I love this post!
And I also love the photo of Charlie and Bert. Working so hard. I don’t know how they do it 😉
It’s all the good nutrition they get around here! 😉
Reflecting on what makes me happy, made my heart smile – thank you.
I’m so glad for that. Much love to you xx
Lovely! Thank you for sharing all that brings you happiness 🙂
My pleasure, Kathy! xx

Thank you, and thanks for sharing! Bless xx
Lovely photos to match a lovely post.
Thanks very much! {{{HUGS}}} xx
I find happiness in everyone of your pictures. I might add: drawing, painting, taking photos, looking at the stars, watching a sunset. There are many happy things to do. Thanks for reminding me 🙂
That’s a great list, Anette! I was at a family barbeque last weekend, and one of the mums took a rug and some cushions out on the lawn and all the little kids lay down to watch the stars. They stayed there for over an hour. It was wonderful to see. 😀
happiness looks like standing at platform 9 3/4 waiting for the hogwart’s express.
You win, Rich! That’s beautiful 🙂 xx
You’ve pretty much nailed happiness for me, too ;-)! I’d add sitting inside, drinking a warm mug of tea while watching the rain come down. Resting my head on my mom’s shoulder (the most comforting shoulder I know). Witnessing the first hummingbird of the season arriving to get a big drink of sugar water. Well, I could go on and on! Thanks for creating these moments!
I love your list, Annie! 🙂 xx
And yay that the Virtual Vegan Potluck is almost here!!!
