Acts of Kindness and Forgiveness – Monday Oracle 21 October 2024

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

~ Leo Buscaglia

Hello, Lovelies!

This Quarter I am using the Queen Of The Sun Oracle by Stacey Demarco, illustrated by Kinga Britschigi, for my weekly oracle readings.

Our card to guide us for the week ahead is 22. WEAVING (PÄIVÄTÄR).

2024 is a year for fresh starts, for creativity, healing and social connection. It’s a year for ambitious projects and for getting stuff done.

October is a month for healing in all forms, for learning from the past and letting that help steer you towards your future goals and dreams, and for nurturing your Inner Child with play and self-care.

22. WEAVING (PÄIVÄTÄR)

This week encourages you to weave yourself a truer, stronger and kinder life. It’s time to forgive and to act from a place of wisdom and compassion. Surround yourself with love, goodness, kindness and the things that support you. That can be people, animals, places or activities. Act, always, from kindness. Wherever you can, look to lift others up. Most importantly, look to lift yourself up first. Look to be kind to yourself first. Look to forgive yourself first.

Many people think that kindness, compassion and forgiveness mean that you need to turn a blind eye to the behaviour of others (or yourself), or that forgiveness is about letting other people off the hook for hurting you or behaving badly. Forgiving doesn’t mean you approve of or condone a behaviour. Forgive doesn’t mean forget. Forgive means you take the sting out of it. You can’t change it, so you stop putting energy into it. For your sake!

When you forgive you choose to let go of anger, pain, resentment and disappointment. You do a kindness to yourself by doing this. It means that you will no longer give effort to events or people around the areas where you are now hurting. Forgiveness helps you move to a neutral place emotionally, and from there you can heal and move forward. It’s not about other people, it’s about you being able to close that door and move on. Sometimes that means forgiving yourself too. Learn from your hurts, and put boundaries in place. You deserve to feel safe, respected and heard in your life.

If thinking about a person, situation or event still brings up rage, resentment, anger, pain, hurt, humiliation, worthlessness or any of those other lower vibration emotions, or if you still get triggered unexpectedly into those emotions it might be worth a rethink on your position on forgiveness just so you can set yourself free. A good counsellor might be in order too!

Think of it like cutting energetic cords with the past. You don’t deny or condone the events, but you disconnect yourself from that endless feedback loop of pain. The events of the past lose their power over you, gifting you emotional release and a new sense of freedom.

22. WEAVING (PÄIVÄTÄR) encourages you to step back from people and situations that cause you pain, keep you small or limit you. No need for excuses or validation – with grace and kindness simply move in a new direction. Wherever you can, use kindness as a superpower to lift others up too by encouraging them, acknowledging them and praising them. Help others to feel seen and heard. Extend that kindness to yourself and honestly hear and acknowledge your true feelings about the situations in your life. These simple acts can be life-changing.

This week you’ll find insights and wisdom that give you clarity about the important relationships and situations in your life. You’ll find that with a minimum of fuss you’ll be able to make better decisions – decisions that honour yourself and your own path. You’ll find yourself feeling stronger, clearer and more grounded.

My Top Tip For The Week Ahead

Spend some time with yourself this week, where you nurture yourself, relax, or do something creative. As you use these techniques to unwind some of the tension in your life, you make room for the answers already within you to rise to the surface of your mind. Then? Grasp one of those answers and pull it into your heart, keep it safe, and help it grow from thought into reality.

Crystals to support you this week – Carnelian, Smoky Quartz, Azurite, Amethyst, Pyrite, Garnet

It’s the final week of our vacation as Ben and I travel through New Zealand and back to Australia. In between adventures I’ve managed to get a full manuscript edited and found lots of writing and thinking time for an existing project I am wrestling with. I’ve been so grateful to have my meals cooked for me, my bed made and my bathroom cleaned. It has felt like a proper rest, and I’ll be home soon reinvigorated and ready for a busy end-of-year and introduction to 2025.

I’m missing our dogs stupidly, and I find myself missing the treehouse and some of the comforts of home too. Certain crystals I use in meditation that fit in my hand in a comforting way, my singing bowl, the view from my bedroom window that looks out over old trees. I’m missing my favourite tea, good Australian coffee, and our usual way of eating – even though it’s been fun to bend the rules and enjoy all kinds of foods I normally avoid.

Travelling with chronic illness is always a lesson in patience. Just like when I am at home I have good days and bad days, good nights and bad nights. While everyone else is out boogying and drinking the night away I am usually tucked up in bed with a book, or watching a movie. I have absolutely embraced my limits, and life is better for that. Once upon a time I would drag myself around, so worried about letting people down or missing out on some sightseeing opportunity. Now, I focus on the truth of where my body is at from day to day, and I won’t overextend myself – because I ALWAYS pay for that later, and it’s not worth the price.

Some of my favourite moments on this trip have been such small ones. A glimpse of the green flashing northern lights above us as we sat down to dinner on our way to Alaska. Clouds and fog came over by the time our meal had finished, but still I got to see the sky alight. An incredible green gecko in Hawaii. A flying fish skimming over the waves away from our ship, his four wings glistening silver and rainbows in the sun as I stood on our balcony late one afternoon. A big green turtle breaking the surface and exhaling beside me as I swam in the ocean. A perfect bite of food. The smell of salt air and frangipani, or the smell of many small fragrant fires in the early morning as the islanders in Tahiti raked their fallen garden leaves and burned them as part of their daily housekeeping. Sitting alone in a hot tub at dawn, with a sunshower and rainbow in front of me garlanding the ocean.

On the Planner front, our 2025 edition of the Journeymaker’s Planner is now available at

PS – Here’s a little peak at how pretty the 2025 edition is… And inside – lots of fairies!

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.
