What It Felt Like Coming Home

Home is the nicest word there is.
― Laura Ingalls Wilder

Hey, Lovelies.

As you know, I had a big day of doctors yesterday.

It was a day of few answers, a little good news (my thyroid is more stable), some crap news, but also a lot more questions, more tests needing to be done, more specialists, more referrals.

So much to take in.

When it was all done, we were exhausted.

Ben drove us home, and after a rudimentary meal and a cup of tea I excused myself to go up to our bedroom so I could change out of my city clothes.

Suddenly a weariness came over me so strongly that all I could do was lie down upon the bed, where I fell into the deepest sleep.

Later, when I woke, I crept downstairs to apologise to Ben for having disappeared, only to find him asleep too.

It was what we needed.

Sleep stitches you back together where you have unravelled.

Today I will get more fasting blood tests done, get fitted for a heart holter monitor, and then I want to eat breakfast in the fresh air, breathe deeply and just sit and sip some kind of yummy hot allowable beverage.

I’ll update you when I have news. Which could be a while.
Love, hugs and the restorative powers of napping, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.
