You’ve got to make a conscious choice every day to shed the old – whatever “the old” means for you.
-Sarah Ban Breathnach
Hello, Lovelies!
This Quarter I am using Wishcraft Oracle by Stacey Demarco, with artwork by Elizabeth Tiethoff, for my weekly oracle readings.
Our card to guide us for the week ahead is 14. FLYING BROOM.
2024 is a year for fresh starts, for creativity, healing and social connection. It’s a year for ambitious projects and for getting stuff done.
March is a great month for finding ways to fall in love with yourself and your life, for making progress towards projects and dreams, and for all kinds of renovations and restorations.
14. FLYING BROOM
FLYING BROOM reminds you about the importance of making space.
When we create space in our lives, and then sit quietly with the emptiness we have created, magic can happen.
How do you create space?
Unplug for a while.
Do things that empty your mind; like yoga or breathwork, journalling or art, running or meditating, bushwalking or dancing to awesome music. You’ll know what works for you.
Physically declutter your living and work spaces.
Simplify your schedule.
Say no to more busy-ness and yes to more of nothingness.
Find places and spaces that support you to be quiet, and still.
Let go of drama, and of people whose lives are drama-filled. If you can’t manage that (it’s hard when we love, live or work with people whose lives are messy) then set good boundaries and maintain them.
Declutter your mind too. Let go of the past, and of self-recrimination. Let go of the sad stories, the pain, the betrayal, frustration, shame and disappointment. What is done, is done. But today is unfolding clean and fresh, and the future is unwritten. Create space in your life, and then trust that better things can come to fill the void you have created.
Take time to be still, contemplative and open.
In this quiet space, healing happens.
Answers come.
Clarity finds you.
Creativity and all kinds of other positive energies can bud forth.
My Top Tip For The Week Ahead:
Feeling like there’s just no time? Make it easy for yourself.
Give yourself 10 minutes of tidying.
Pick up or wash up or clean 10 things.
Rest for 10 minutes.
Meditate for 10 minutes.
Move for 10 minutes.
10 minutes is enough to make a start. Then find another 10 minutes and go again.
Crystals to support you this week – Carnelian, Amazonite, Smoky Quartz, Larimar, any kind of Jasper, Hematite.
You might have noticed I have been quite quiet here on the blog.
Me too!
While I am still committed to my Monday Oracle blogs, since I came home from vacation I have just not been able to motivate myself to write yet the way I did before.
Instead, I have been sleeping in. Instead, I have been exercising. Instead, I have been working on my novel. Instead, I have found time to colour my monthly manifesting mandalas. Instead, I have been working on a new course offering. Instead, I have been swimming in our pool each day. Instead, I have been working on the 10th Anniversary Edition of The Journeymaker’s Planner for 2025. Instead, I’ve been hanging out with our Inner Circle, enjoying working with The Artist’s Way in Book Club, and planning a new series of channelled webinars and workshops for our members.
I promised myself a sabbatical year, a year where I would do things differently, and I am doing my best to honour that.
And I’ll be honest. Part of me not writing more frequent blog posts has also been because I’ve had a heavy heart. Someone close to me (well, they’re not close any more!) was cruel, and touched a raw wound in me that I thought had healed. How wrong I was. I haven’t been able to write about it yet. Let me sit with it a little longer. Let me find my way back to calm and grace again first.
The other part of it has been because my body has continued to challenge me in ways that have caused me to sit back and really think about my life priorities. I can’t ignore what’s been going on for me with my health, and ever since I got stuck in that bathtub last year I have found myself needing to deeply reflect on how to make the most of what I’ve got, and how to best create and enjoy a life that I find satisfying – doing all the things I want to do while I am able to do so, and maximising/ supporting/prolonging my abilities in whatever ways serve me best.
Life. It’s so complex. And it goes by so fast. 2024 is a year all about evolution, creativity, and being true to yourself. So I am trying to live by those guiding energies. My planner has been a godsend for that!
I love this quote from Albert Einstein – it holds so much truth:
“I think 99 times and find nothing. I stop thinking, swim in silence, and the truth comes to me.”
~ Albert Einstein
I’m actively making space in my life right now.
Gee, it feels soooooooo good.
How about you? Do you need some space? How can you make that happen?
Even ten minutes a day reclaimed for yourself can make a difference, but I hope you create much more than that!
And please, whatever you do, don’t then feel guilty about ‘doing nothing’ or for taking time for yourself.
Hugs, love, and the relief of room in my own schedule, Nicole xx

🙂👏🌟
I ike to declutter my house and my mind often, also have had a couple of times when getting out of thr bath hasn’t been easy once when we were in China iut was a struggle but I managed it in the end
Just a housekeeping thing so please delete this if youd like, but do you mean to repeat every monday “Our card to welcome in the New Year and guide us for the week ahead is -” Isnt the new year gone by now?
Leisa, you are a star! Thank you xx
I guess I missed the bathtub part but we just bought a house and that happened to me. Scared me to death so I can empathize. I too am struggling to find that balance. It’s Sunday here and instead of unpacking more boxes I slept in, played with my dogs and relaxed. While we all may miss your frequent posts I’d say the majority of us would rather you find that new balance that brings you peace and health.
Thanks, Mary. Unpicking my old life to stitch together a new one is challenging, but I am sure that in the end it will work better for me. I hear you about the bathtub. I got stuck in one when I was in Adelaide in a hotel last year. Luckily I was fully dressed, and eventually managed to get myself out, but it was a pivotal moment for me, and it changed me forever. Enjoy the new house. Big hugs xx
