Rest Is Progress – Monday Oracle 7 July 2025

“The most valuable thing we can do for the psyche, occasionally, is to let it rest, wander, live in the changing light of room, not try to be or do anything whatever.”
― May Sarton

Hello, Lovelies!

This Quarter I am using the The Rooted Woman Oracle by Sharon Blackie, illustrated by Hannah Willow, for my weekly oracle readings. Over in our Inner Circle we are working through Sharon Blackie’s excellent book Hagitude, so it feels good to have her work supporting us for such a healing Quarter of the year.

Our card to guide us for the week ahead is BOG – Stagnation.

2025 is a year for pattern breaking, deep healing, mysticism and new directions.

July energies are all about healing yourself; body, mind and spirit. It’s time to make yourself  a priority, and to attend to whatever is needed for your healing journey. July is also a month of heightened energetic sensitivity and intuition.

🌾 Monday Morning Musings: The Healing Stillness of the Bog

Theme: Rest. Release. Renew.

This week, the message is clear:

You don’t have to move forward right now.
You have to come back to yourself.

Our card for the week is BOG – Stagnation, and it lands in perfect harmony with our July theme of HEAL YOURSELF.

But don’t be fooled by the word stagnation—this isn’t about being stuck.
This is about being still.
Being still enough to hear what your body is whispering.
Being still enough to feel where your energy has gone thin.
Being still enough to let the healing begin.

🌀 Recognising Burnout as a Sacred Signal

Burnout doesn’t always look dramatic.
Sometimes it’s subtle.
It shows up as irritability, disconnection, exhaustion, apathy, body pain, decision fatigue… or simply the inability to care the way you used to.

It’s your soul saying:

“You’ve been running on empty, and I love you too much to let you keep going like this.”

This week, the invitation is to stop pushing through.
To drop the pressure.
To take active steps toward stillness and restoration.

Because healing isn’t passive—it’s intentional.

🕯️ What Healing Might Look Like This Week:

  • Saying no to something that drains you

  • Clearing time for true rest—not just distraction

  • Eating slowly, breathing deeply, stretching gently

  • Journaling what your body has been trying to tell you

  • Giving yourself permission to stop fixing, and simply be

🌿 The Universe Is Still Working

Even if you’re resting, the magic hasn’t stopped.
You haven’t fallen behind.
The synchronicities, connections, opportunities, and ideas you need?

They’re lining up in the background!

Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is step out of the way long enough for the Universe to do its work.

Let the Earth hold you.
Let your energy settle.
Let the healing begin in silence, stillness, and surrender.

🕯️ This is not stagnation. This is sacred pause.
This is not weakness. This is wisdom.
This is not falling behind. This is finding your way back to yourself.

This week, rest like it matters.
Because it does.

🌟 Top Tip for the Week Ahead – STAGNATION (BOG)

Theme: Honour the Pause

This week, give yourself permission to stop striving and start healing.

✨ Don’t push through the fatigue.
✨ Don’t ignore the ache in your body or soul.
✨ Don’t label rest as weakness.

Instead, ask:

“What does my body need from me today?”

Stillness is not wasted time. It’s sacred space.
Let yourself be held by the quiet.

It’s been a slower pace for me this last week, and honestly – my body is asking for even more stillness. I’m listening. Resting. Letting go of the need to rush or push. If you’re in that same space, know you’re not alone. Healing takes time, and we don’t need to earn it. I’m reminding myself of that too. Be gentle with yourself. We’re all doing the best we can.

As I’ve been taking things slowly, I’ve been reconnecting to the joy of face-to-face time: time online with my Inner Circle, time with my writing group, and time with family. I’ve also been tidying in microbursts, and sorting things out that have been waiting in piles or boxes. I realised recently that these piles and boxes were never going to get any attention until I blocked out time for that. Some of those piles have been sitting for months. One box of things has been waiting patiently for me for two years. Does that happen to you too?

I have a short drug-free period coming up between rotations of my medications to treat Late-Stage Lyme and Sarcoidosis, and as some of my more intensive meds have finished I can’t tell you how good it has been to be mostly nausea and vomit free, and to be able to feel a little more normal for a while.

I still need to remind myself daily to not overdo it. Most people in the chronic illness community will know that sense of having a little more energy and wanting to make the most of that by pushing harder. Then, of course, you can crash for days (or worse!) after having done too much. Still, we have a little travel coming up to visit family interstate for a week, and I am so excited for that. I’ll be sure to pace myself so I can make the most of the trip without wrecking myself. Hopefully I’ve become a bit better at that!

Sending healing vibes and gentle moments your way. All my love, Nicole xx

PS – Here’s a picture of Rufie Dog gazing adoringly at… yeah, not me. My breakfast of course! You would think this dog never got fed. He’s doing much better after the loss of his brother Harry a few months ago, although he has turned into a complete cuddle monster. Not that we mind that at all💖🐾😊

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.
