Sitting Quietly, Doing Nothing

“The deepest of level of communication is not communication, but communion. It is wordless … beyond speech … beyond concept.”
~ Thomas Merton

“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The latter procedure, however, is disagreeable and therefore not popular.”
~ C.G. Jung

What I need right now, more than anything, is some quiet time on my own.

Some integration time.

Some time to sit with the Universe.

Some time to sit with my Soul.

Some time for thinking and deep reflection.

Some time for sitting in the vast All That Is space – open and empty – so that I can simply allow understanding to come to me.

Do you ever do that?

Do you ever reflect and question?

Do you ever unplug for a while and just be?

I highly recommend it. It’s most enlightening, and it’s something available to everyone.

All you need is you, and some time. A journal might be helpful – for reflection, or to record your insights afterwards. Then just sit. Be. Let the thoughts and insights come. Explore them. Rest. Integrate. Heal. Grow…

Thinking of you, and sending love.

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. Your are awesome Nicole and this week your posts have me sending you so much love and healing hugs, plus thank you as they have triggered issues for me. I have just been sitting down at Kirra beach in silence, I started journaling and then heard just be still and listen. blessingsxxoo

  2. Your blog is so full of synchronicities for me Nicole! The last picture of the butterfly and the saying that goes with it ties right in to a dream I had last night and a conversation I had today with a friend! It helps validate that I interpreted my dream correctly! Enjoy and embrace your quiet time Nicole…..much love to you.
