How To Ask For A Sign

The Eye of God – Helix Nebula from www.skyimagelab.com

“The Universe sets out little signposts for us along the way, to confirm that we’re on the right path.”
~  Michelle Maisto

This week’s energies are supportive of connection, communication, signs, breakthroughs and synchronicities (you can read more about that here).

But how do you ask for a sign?

I recommend that you ask only once, and then satisfy yourself with the answer as it appears to you.

Here are some things that you can try:

Shuffle your oracle or tarot cards, offer up a small prayer that whatever you do be for your Highest Good, and then shuffle the deck again. As you’re shuffling, ask your question . Say it out loud or hold it as a thought in your head. Either will work.

Choose one card. How you choose is up to you. Split the deck. Fan them out. Top or bottom. Dive right in. There is no right or wrong.  Then really look at the card. Don’t use the book or the ‘proper’ meaning. We are being intuitive here, people! What stands out for you in the picture? What thoughts and ideas do the images provoke? What is the answer that comes to you? Trust that. Don’t ask again.

Ask for your Guide to appear as an animal or some other living thing, some sort of motif that you will associate with them and with their presence.

Ask to see a specific image or thing, as acknowledgement of a question, or in answer to it.  Perhaps you are driving and you ask to see a red Kombi van if the answer is yes.  Or you ask to see a particular type of bird or something else you’ll recognise as that sign…

Image from www.justmeblog.com

Ask, and then expect an answer.  Perhaps the answer will be a message on a  billboard, a line from a book, a voice on the radio, the words in a song.  The message will stand out for you somehow, and have a special meaning just for you.

Angels are often associated with white feathers.  Guides are often associated with other coloured or patterned feathers.  I have found feathers during some of the most difficult times in my life, and have felt reassured by them showing up for me.

When I sense my Great Aunt’s presence I smell roses.  When my Grandmother is near, I smell or even see gardenias.  A friend smells tobacco smoke when her father is with her.  Sometimes loved ones will create a breeze where there was none, stop or start a clock, or move something.  Whatever they do will make sense to you, based on your relationship with them.

Sometimes God creates magnificent signs, for no reason other than to help us remember the love and miracles in our world…

And sometimes it’s well-meaning friends who help us know what’s in store for us on the road in life…

When the road ahead is uncertain, when you need to know you’re supported, when you are looking for answers – it’s okay to ask for a sign.  But do it once, and trust what you get!

♥ And here’s MY sign for you today (Okay, maybe there’s 3…):

Announcing Temple of Light Meditation Retreat 23 to 29 September, 2017

“The calm within the storm is where peace lives and breathes. It is not within perfect circumstances or a charmed life… it is not conditional. Peace is a sacred space within, it is the temple of our internal landscape. We are free to visit it, whenever we seek sanctuary. Underneath the chaos of everyday living, peace is patiently awaiting our discovery… go within.”
~  Jaeda DeWalt

I’m excited to announce my next residential retreat – my Temple of Light ™ Shamanic Meditation Retreat, to be held at Sangsurya, Byron Bay from the 23rd to the 29th of September, 2017

This isn’t your ordinary meditation course. This retreat is essentially an opportunity to connect more deeply with your Soul Energy and Guides than you might ever have thought possible. Let me tell you more…

There is a very special meditation that I practice on a very regular basis. It’s not just a meditation, it’s a destination – and it’s one of the things that has most helped me to come into my own intuitive and psychic abilities, and that has enabled me to deal with health problems, pain and suffering when there was no other help available.

In Ancient cultures our transitions from childhood to puberty, and from puberty to adulthood were marked by ritual, ceremony and the exchange of information. The rituals were especially important for individuals with psychic awareness. These individuals were given specific training in meditation and energy techniques to help them to connect with and explore their abilities, to travel deep within themselves, and to move into connection with the spiritual realms.

A shamanic journey is a journey within. This sacred journey allows us to access a level of consciousness where we can more easily tune into intuitive and spiritual guidance. We learn to listen to our bodies. We learn to listen to our hearts. We learn to listen to our souls and our own inner wisdom. We learn to listen to the Earth, and to all that surrounds us.

On such a journey we often discover things deeply buried – all manner of gifts and longings and talents neglected. We are able to practice Soul Retrieval as we connect to the aspects of ourselves that have long been lost, shamed or shunned.
When we embark on a shamanic journey we gift ourselves space to become whole again, in flow again, and we experience growth and peace.

Image from www.pexels.com

This particular shamanic meditation technique arose from a gift I was given long ago – a fragment of a sacred meditation – and the result is one I have channelled, developed and tuned over decades. I call this meditation Temple of Light ™, and it is one of the most important practices in my life. It supports you no matter what your religion or spiritual beliefs. This simple meditation technique allows you to access an energetic destination which is multi-layered and that last you an entire lifetime in terms of the insights, wisdoms and developments that it will help you to manifest for yourself and others. That is what the Temple of Light ™ is all about. No matter what your current level of knowledge, spiritual connection or metaphysical ability, this technique will work for you.

2017 marks the first year of a brand new energetic era. In this new energy of communication, connection, clarity and collaboration I have updated this meditation significantly. I have also introduced some shamanic rituals that I have not felt to share for a very long time.

Over this six day immersive experience I will guide you through a series of meditation and self-reflection exercises designed to open you up to your wise and intuitive self, your Guides and energetic helpers, and the talents and gifts within you.

The Temple of Light ™’s energetically connected ‘rooms’ will provide you with a beautiful and sacred shamanic meditation template that will allow you to manifest immediate change in your life, and to rapidly accelerate both your personal and spiritual development. Whatever your interests, the Temple of Light ™ will provide you with what you need, customized to your own energy and purpose. It is a place of comfort and sanctuary, attuned to your exact personal needs.

If you are interested in developing psychic or metaphysical skills, creating healing energy, or gaining access to creative or financial flow, or if you’re stuck and don’t know how to move forward, this is the retreat for you. It is suitable for complete beginners and advanced practitioners too.

We have not yet advertised this retreat, but the demand is high and many places have already been filled from people who have been waiting since 2012 when I last ran this event.

Will one of the last places be for you?

To find out more email my wonderful PA, Dana Hartnell, directly at nicolecodyinfo@gmail.com and she’ll send you some more information and an Expression of Interest form. Please be patient. We are in school holidays right now and Dana is a work-from-home mum so don’t expect an immediate response, but I promise she will get to you just as soon as she can.

We look forward to having you join us for a very special and transformative experience.

Much love, Nicole <3 xoxo

Turquoise – A Great Stone For Healers and Empaths

“A turquoise given by a loving hand carries with it happiness and good fortune.” ~ Arabic proverb

Last week I made a simple turquoise and rose quartz necklace for a friend, and it has been charging up in one of my amethyst caves ever since. I’ll give it to her today – a gift to thank her for all her help as my acupuncturist’s assistant. Her caring and skill have helped me through some difficult days.

I chose turquoise because it is such a supportive stone for healers and empaths. I also added a small rose quartz for love and nurture – replenishing the energy that is so lovingly given out to others. Turquoise is a wonderful crystal. It shields the wearer energetically, and helps to process and let go of emotions that are generated or picked up during work with others. It is very protective of the heart chakra, and clears grief, guilt and trauma.

The emotions of grief, guilt and trauma can move deep into the body. They sit in our throats, our lungs, our hearts, our bellies. It can be our own feelings, or the energies we shift form other people and then take on as our own. Unexpressed, these trapped emotions weaken our immune function, and our digestion. They affect our physical organs, making them more prone to illness and, over time, dis-ease.

Holding grief, guilt and trauma within our bodies is a place that many intuitive, empathic and deeply caring people find ourselves. To love and to care is also to expose ourselves to hurt and to loss. Loving and caring deeply is risky, because when you live in that open-hearted state, love goes hand in hand with suffering. Still, I would advocate that you love anyway. That you care anyway.

One of your greatest gifts is that you care. One of your greatest gifts is that you can live heart-opened. Don’t change that. Just learn to manage it better.

Turquoise, worn on the centre line of the body, is a beautiful crystal for supporting healers in all modalities. Maybe you’d benefit from wearing one too!

Lots of love to you, Nicole xoxo

Stones, Crystals and Meditation Magic

“The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind.” ~ Caroline Myss

I have long been a meditator. In fact it has been a daily practice for me since adolescence. Even with my recent bout of ill-health I haven’t missed a day. It’s as much a part of my life as sleeping or breathing.

As I was walking along the beach on Monday morning I came upon a particular rock. It’s just a stone. But it holds the energies of the ocean and the earth. It is an anchoring stone. And it comes from Byron Bay, which is a place of great healing and transformation. As I held it in my hand I knew that I would meditate with it, and that this stone would hold those energies in a way that could be transferred to someone else.

Which gave me an idea…

I have decided to dedicate a meditation each day of the month to a chosen stone and a crystal companion. The stone becomes the Anchoring Stone, which helps us to stay grounded, clear and calm, connecting into our bodies, and to the earth and nature. The crystal becomes the Connection Stone, enabling us to connect into our intuition, Higher Self, Guides, Ancestors and the Divine.

I will use the energies of the month to support me as I meditate with intention, infusing the stones with that energy.

Here are the stones I will work with every day in July:

The energies and intention I will infuse into the Byron Bay Beach Rock will be that the holder comes to know and understand their body and how to honour and take care of it to give lasting health and wellbeing. This knowledge will also contribute to a state of inner calm and of self-care.

The energies and intention I shall infuse into the Tasmanian Quartz Crystal will be a deep connection to the user’s ancestral line, intuition, Guides, Angels, the Divine – facilitating a stronger understanding of the user’s individual talents and gifts, and those that have been passed down through their ancestral lineage. All of this will help to give clarity of life path.

My team will devise a new competition each month to enable someone from our Cauldrons and Cupcakes community to win the stones as well as a meditation recorded just for them.

All of the love and energy and intention that I pour into these stones daily will then be available for the user in their own meditation. It’s also okay if you’ve never meditated before. I’ll send you instructions!

I’m so glad that this idea found me, so that the right stones can find you.

We’ll post more details soon.

Hugs and love, Nicole ❤ xoxo

Chakra Journal Challenge – Week 9

“And suddenly you realize: you are in every dot of the universe vanishing and arising.”
Amit Ray, Enlightenment Step by Step

Hello, and welcome to the wrap-up week of our Chakra Journal Challenge!

If you’re only just joining us please go back and read my Orientation Post first.

Bringing It All Together

Now that you have had a chance to tour these eight chakras and to explore how they work and what that means for you, this week we are going to bring this all together.

If you need to review, you can go back and access that chakra work at the links below:

Week 1 – Feet Chakras

Week 2  – Base Chakra

Week 3 – Sacral Chakra

Week 4 – Solar Plexus Chakra

Week 5 – Heart Chakra

Week 6 – Throat Chakra

Week 7 – Third Eye Chakra

Week 8 – Crown Chakra

Guided Meditation:

Again we’re going to use the sound of my Tibetan Singing Bowl in our meditation. You’ll need about ten minutes for this exercise.

Sit quietly for a moment before you begin the meditation. Set your intention to be aware of where the sound, light or vibration enters your body. Set your intention that you be shown the wisdom, message or healing of that experience.

Then just listen to the meditation as directed.

You can listen to the meditation here:

Journal Prompts

Now answer the following questions, writing as little or as much as you need:

  • Where did the sound energy of the Tibetan Singing Bowl enter your body? What words, images, wisdom or ideas did that provoke? Write them down.
  • Did any colours come to you? Write down what you experienced and what that means to you.

Want to go deeper with your journalling? Try these additional prompts. Write the beginning of the sentence and then keep going, using stream of consciousness. Do one or all of them. You’ll be amazed what you might discover about yourself!

  • The Chakra that expressed itself most to me today was…
  • When I connect into the energy of that Chakra I know that…
  • The Chakra or area of my body that needed the most support was…
  • When I connect into the energy of that Chakra or area of my body I know that…

Hands On Healing:

This week our hands-on healing can be done at any time during the day. It’s also a great healing to do last thing at night, in bed, just before you go to sleep.

  1. Sit or lie comfortably and with a straight spine.
  2. Shake out your hands and activate your hand chakras. (Can’t remember how? Go back and review our Orientation Post)
  3. Now gently use the fingers of both hands (not thumbs) to tap lightly on your Heart Chakra
  4. Then place one hand low on your belly and one hand on your heart. Let white light flow from your hands into your body.
  5. When your body is filled with white light begin to bring balls of coloured energy from your hands into your body. Send the coloured energy along your spine to each chakra, and down your legs to the chakras in your feet. Be open to healing, insight or whatever else comes to you.
  6. Let the colour of the energy change as you do this, if any other colours come to you and feel right.
  7. To finish, lift your hands from your body, shake them out and sit quietly for a moment. Or simply allow yourself to fall asleep.

You can also do this healing  when you first wake up. Enjoy!

Practicing Gratitude

The Gratitude Rock anchors positive energy and gratitude at the end of every day.  You can carry your stone with you, or leave it beside your bed.  At night, before you go to sleep, hold your Gratitude Rock in your hand.

gratitude-rock

As you hold the stone say to yourself: I am richly Blessed. I have an Abundance of Good in my life. Then hold in your mind one or more image of a thing you have been grateful for today. Swell that positive energy up in your heart like a beautiful golden light, and give a heart-felt Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Universe. Visualise a tiny shower of golden light travelling from your heart into your Gratitude Rock.

Now here’s the fun bit – imagine all of the other people who are taking part in this journalling challenge with you. Once again build up a strong positive energy in your heart, and then imagine shooting a stream of golden light out into the Universe to those people.

Say Thank you. I Bless You. I intend for you Love, Miracles and Abundance.Know that as you are saying this for them, they are also saying this for you. Feel that connection and gratitude and know that there is real love and support for you here. Place your rock back beside your bed, and go to sleep, cocooned in this good energy.

Our Final Prize!

Our final prize is a natural clear quartz crystal from the Kimberley, hand-chosen by me, and all juiced up from being in that recent big crystal grid on my farm. Delicious! ❤ The winner of this beautiful stone is Lilly Belle Rose. Congratulations! Please contact us at nicolecodyinfo@gmail.com so that we can post this out to you.

Thanks again for joining me on this journal challenge.

Love and hugs, Nicole ❤ xoxo

Chakra Journal Challenge – Week 8

“When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.” ~  Audre Lorde

Hello, and welcome to the final week of our Chakra Journal Challenge!

(Sorry for the slight delay between postings. I’ve been in hospital – but that’s a whole other post.)

If you’re only just joining us please go back and read my Orientation Post first.

About the Crown Chakra

The Crown Chakra is found at the top of our head, and it is the colour white. This is the place where our mind and brain connect in with our entire body, systems and organs. It is a communication hub for the physical body, governing not just our thoughts and our emotions but our hormones, our physical reactions, our metabolism, our nervous system. The Crown Chakra is a doorway to higher awareness and profound psychic connection. It is the chakra that governs our spiritual opening and our spiritual development.

When our Crown Chakra is activated we can create a bold new vision for ourselves and our future or the futures of others. It is a centre for inspiration, divine guidance and enlightenment. We will feel the need to be a spiritual seeker, to be on a spiritual journey or to find or follow a higher calling. (This might not be spiritual – it might be a calling to write or to study or to travel for example.)

One of the issues with this chakra is that it’s where the seat of the mind is and often, by being too much in our mind, we’re unable to open up to the higher aspects of this chakra and that wonderful universal connection.

When our Crown Chakra is open and in flow we are intelligent, confident, we are problem solvers and we have a great clarity in the way that we think. We have a strong ability to concentrate and to bring and focus all of our attention upon one thing or upon one practice so that we are clear and present and very insightful. When we’re really in flow with this chakra, we are also open to higher guidance. We have a great ability to trust that we will be supported in life, and to trust that everything that we need we can draw to us.

When our Crown Chakra is out of balance  we can’t put our finger on it but  we know something’s not right in ourselves and in our life. We often feel totally uninspired – and not just uninspired, uninterested. We couldn’t be bothered. We might do what absolutely needs to be done but we don’t bother to do anymore than that. We feel a great separation from source which can manifest as deep anxiety  and neurosis. It can also manifest as a feeling of abandonment, feeling rejected or not feeling worthy.

When our Crown Chakra is not flowing well, we’re frightened to put our opinions forward, we’re frightened to serve, we’re worried about making mistakes and we can’t see ourselves or others in a positive light. It’s not necessarily that we’re critical, more that we feel hopeless or helpless and things just aren’t good enough somehow.

It’s a really powerful chakra and it’s one that can be so easily thrown out and particularly, it can be thrown out  by over thinking.

Best antidote to overthinking? Meditation, mindfulness and spending time in nature.

Weekly Structure

Each week of this nine week challenge will follow the same format:

  1. We will begin with the short guided meditation for the week, using your guidance stone. During this meditation you’ll be given a colour to work with for the week, and a word or phrase.
  2. We will choose an oracle card to give us inspiration and direction for the week ahead.
  3. We will spend ten minutes (or more if desired!) to complete our weekly journal prompt.
  4. We will give ourselves healing energy at least once this week.
  5. We will spend a few moments at the end of our day in gratitude.

Guided Meditation:

Today we’re going to use the sound of my Tibetan Singing Bowl in our meditation. You’ll need about ten minutes for this exercise.

Allow the sound to enter your Crown Chakra. Feel like you are opening a doorway in the top of your head for the sound to enter.

Then just listen to the meditation as directed.

Allow your Power Word and Power Colour to come to you.

You can listen to the meditation here:

Journal Prompts

Now answer the following questions, writing as little or as much as you need:

  • What does your Power Colour mean to you? What words or ideas does it provoke? Write them down. Then use that colour to boost your energy. Shut your eyes for thirty seconds and breathe it into your body whenever you feel a bit flat or low. Wear it as clothing. Choose flowers in your colour. Eat food that colour. Be creative with it.
  • How can you use your Power Word this week? Write a few ideas, based on your word. Trust whatever comes and write it down. Don’t overthink it.

Want to go deeper with your journalling? Try these additional prompts. Write the beginning of the sentence and then keep going, using stream of consciousness. Do one or all of them. You’ll be amazed what you might discover about yourself!

  • When I connect into the energy of my Crown Chakra it makes me strong to think that…
  • When I connect into the energy of my Crown Chakra it makes me scared to think that…
  • When I connect into the energy of my Crown Chakra it makes me curious to think that…
  • When I connect into the energy of my Crown Chakra it makes me excited to think that…

Your Chakra Card For The Week:

Take your chosen oracle or tarot cards, offer up a small prayer that whatever you do be for your Highest Good, and then shuffle the deck. As you’re shuffling, ask the question ‘What wisdom does my Crown Chakra have for me this week?’ Say it out loud or hold it as a thought in your head. Either will work.

Choose one card. How you choose is up to you. Split the deck. Fan them out. Top or bottom. Dive right in. There is no right or wrong.

Now look at your card and hold your guidance stone in your non-writing hand. Really look at the card. Don’t use the book or the ‘proper’ meaning. We are being intuitive here, people! What stands out for you in the picture? What thoughts and ideas do the images provoke? Take a minute or two and write those thoughts down. I know, you might feel like you’re just making it all up. That’s okay. Write anyway. Trust that there is a part of you that is wise and that has been waiting for this chance to speak with your conscious mind.

Here’s an example of my first journal pages for the Crown Chakra:

Hands On Healing:

This week our hands-on healing can be done at any time during the day. It’s also a great healing to do last thing at night, in bed, just before you go to sleep.

  1. Sit or lie comfortably and with a straight spine.
  2. Shake out your hands and activate your hand chakras. (Can’t remember how? Go back and review our Orientation Post)
  3. Now gently use the fingers of both hands (not thumbs) to tap lightly on your Crown Chakra on the top of your head.
  4. Then place one hand on the top of your head and one hand on your heart. Let white light flow from your hands into your body.
  5. When your body is filled with light, run white light from one hand to the other, in a  gigantic healing loop. Feel the white light connecting your heart and your mind. Feel your Crown Chakra energising and opening.
  6. Now place both hands on your chest. Flow white light from your Crown Chakra all the way down to your feet. Allow your entire body to become filled with white light. Be open to healing, insight or whatever else comes to you.
  7. Let the colour of the energy change as you do this, if any other colours come to you and feel right.

We’re On Retreat!

“I am not a teacher, but an awakener.”
~ Robert Frost

This morning we begin our next residential retreat, Beginners Channelling, here in Byron Bay.

My bags are packed and the ute is packed and we will soon leave the farm and travel the short distance down the road to our retreat destination. The venue is ready. My students are arriving. It’s all about to happen.

I’m excited for this group. I chose this time for our retreat so carefully, and booked it almost four years ago. Today will be a day of preparation and orientation and then tomorrow we move into the end of April, into Samhain, deep into the process of seeing ourselves and our lives honestly and of letting go of all that no longer serves. It’s also a powerful time for all forms of psychic connection.

Then suddenly it will be May, and with it will come gentle energies for heart healing and growth (wait for my blog on Monday where I explain these energies in much more detail). May will be a time for great forgiveness and a healthy new self-acceptance.

It’s a powerful time for soul work, and that is what we will do.

As I hold my students in my twice-daily meditations I will also hold space for you to make these same shifts, and to experience this same new freedom and expansion. I’ll update you on our progress next week, and give you some little activities to help you step more fully into your own intuitive gifts.

I have a few spots left on our next residential retreat in June. Temple of Light is a Shamanic Meditation Retreat and it’s possibly my favourite meditation technique ever. It is suitable for complete beginners and advanced practitioners. But I’ll tell you more about that later. Right now I have to get ready for a very big day.

Sending so much love your way, Nicole <3 xoxo

PS – Want to know more about our Temple of Light Meditation Retreat? Email me at cauldronsandcupcakes@gmail.com and we’ll be sure to send some details to you on Monday.

PSS – If you’d like to see what one of my retreats looks like you can have a sneak peek here.

Nicole’s other Retreats in 2017:

June 17 to 22 – Temple of Light Shamanic Meditation Retreat. Imagine that you could learn one simple meditation technique that would allow you to access an energetic destination which is multi-layered and will last you an entire lifetime in terms of the insights, wisdoms and developments that it will help you to manifest for yourself and others. That is what the Temple of Light ™ is all about. No matter what your current level of knowledge, spiritual connection or metaphysical ability, this technique will work for you. Over this six day immersive experience, Nicole will guide you through a series of meditation and self-reflection exercises designed to open you up to your pure nature, your Soul’s Truth, and the talents and gifts within you. The Temple of Light ™’s energetically connected ‘rooms’ will provide you with a beautiful and sacred shamanic template that will allow you to manifest immediate change in your life, and to rapidly accelerate both your personal and spiritual development. Whatever your interests, the
Temple of Light ™ will provide you with what you need, customised to your own energy and purpose. If you are interested in developing psychic or metaphysical skills, creating healing energy, or gaining access to creative or financial flow, this is the workshop for you.

November 25 to December 1 – Working with Crystals – Level 1. This will be the first time I have offered this as a residential course. An immersive and intensive experience where I will show you how to select, clear, charge and program crystals. I’ll show you how to use them for meditation and healing, to support the chakras, to support intuition and psychic awakening, as a channelling tool, for manifestation and for creating energetic spaces. I’ll also teach you the fundamentals of crystal gridding and crystal essence making, and how to choose crystals for others. Lots of meditation and energy work, lots of stones to take home, and lots and lots of fun!
