I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.

You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.

Hey, Lovelies,
Christmas is almost here. Our office will be closed from Friday December 23 and we will reopen on Monday January 9. Our little team is exhausted and in need of a decent break, so we will be away from our desks, away from the phones, and away from work. (Well, I mostly will be, but more on that tomorrow…)
Which brings me to what I want for Christmas.
Books!
And time to read them.
Closely followed by beach days, baking days and time to play in the kitchen, more books, more naps, and maybe a little time to write my own stories (which have been sadly neglected during December).
The idea of curling up with a book is delicious. If I can’t be vacationing anywhere exciting right now then books will take me there – to vicariously live in those places in my mind, or to evoke memories for places I visited pre-Covid.
Some of this reading time may also involve a rumball or two, or a slice of Christmas Fruit Cake and a cup of tea. We seem to have made industrial quantities of rumballs this year, after I asked Ben to do a final taste test on the mixture before we began rolling it into balls. Of course he decided it wasn’t rummy enough, and poured a copious amount of rum into the mixing bowl, after which I needed to virtually double my already large quantities to soak up all the extra rum and give a roll-able mixture. Oh dear. But I must say they are smashingly good, and with the amount of rum involved I think they shall keep for months and months.
While I am out and about today I will be stopping at an independent bookshop to grab a few new titles for myself, because the dogs always like to give me books for Christmas. What good boys!!!
Today feels like a good day already. 😊📚🎅🎄🎁
Love, and the anticipation of tea, stories and quiet time, (just 3 more sleeps!) Nicole xx
All I want is a house that is not in shambles
Ben is a great “assistant” cook……?
Sounds lovely Nicole!! Happy Christmas to you and Ben and all of your canine and non-canine family🎄🎄🎄💚
