Cultivate Calm – Monday Oracle 23 January 2023

Peace comes from within.  Do not seek it without.
― Siddhārtha Gautama

Hello, Lovelies!

This Quarter I am using Queen Of The Moon Oracle by Stacey Demarco for my weekly oracle readings.

Our card to guide us for the week ahead is 28. PEACE.

28. PEACE invites you to find that centre of calm and stillness inside you this week. Our inner world is rich and filled with delights, directions, ideas and advice. But we can only connect with this aspect of ourselves through peace, solitude and rest – and sometimes we need to rest FIRST.  Reconnection can begin after our batteries have recharged enough that we are no longer just in survival mode

Many of my students and community tell me that they can’t do another year of high drama, hard relationships, and stressful situations. They are also done with family members and friends who gossip destructively, who drink excessively or take drugs, engage in antisocial behaviours or who otherwise drain them. They can feel themselves literally putting up barriers, or going into behaviours such as avoidance by not answering their phone or returning emails. They feel themselves withdrawing from the complexities and overwhelming interaction of their lives. They also feel the need to ‘get their house in order’. For some people this is about doing seven years of overdue taxes. For other people it is about de-cluttering their home, or even their social calendar so that there is time and space for themselves to transform.

Is that okay? YES. Sometimes we need to simplify and create time for ourselves so that we can heal and reconnect. When we reduce the outside chatter and the need to be organised and involved we are free to spend times with ourselves, in self and spiritual exploration.  This week, do what you can to cultivate calm in your inner world, and in the world around you.

My Top Tip For The Week Ahead:

One of the best ways to manage anxiety, overwhelm and loss of sense of self is through mindfulness. Today I want to remind you of the importance of having a regular mindful spiritual practice to nurture and guide you. Now, more than ever, we need practical spirituality – practical spirituality always brings us back to ourselves, to our breath, to this moment, and to our hearts.

For you a mindful spiritual practice might be meditation, tending a garden, yoga, a daily walk, or regular journalling. It might be making bread by hand, daily gratitude, weekend paddle-boarding, surfing or hiking (yes, this kind of stuff can be a spiritual practice if it encourages calm, mindfulness and relaxation), doing a weekly planning session, writing or making art, pulling a guiding card and reflecting on the wisdom it shows you, spending more time in nature, or doing breathwork each morning.

Creating space in your routine for these things, and then doing them often so that they become habits or rituals, will strengthen your ability to cope with stress, increase intuition and self-trust, ground you in yourself, and give you more emotional resilience.

Stuck with creating a satisfying life for yourself or understanding your best direction forward? Maybe you need a session with me to bring some extra clarity and direction. Details here

We had a lovely week of celebration for Ben’s birthday, and we’d like to thank you for all the messages you sent him! 🙏💖 All our family members who were hospitalised are finally home again as of Friday, and I feel like I can relax a little more.

This week it’s back to my restricted medical diet, and to our usual routines of morning yoga and beach walks, and early nights. Although part of me HATES routine, there is another part that thrives on the gift of not needing to make so many decisions because of the predictability and structure that routine brings. Right now, a little structure sounds good!

So do early nights. I feel like I have a million years of missed sleep to catch up.

But that’s okay. 2023 supports a slow start, and nurturing ourselves with rest, planning, dreams and self-care.

I hope you find a little time for that this week too.
Love, hugs, yoga mats and herbal tea, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.
