“If you want to be happy, do not dwell in the past, do not worry about the future, focus on living fully in the present.”
~ Roy T. Bennett
Hello, Lovelies!
This Quarter I am using the Queen Of The Sun Oracle by Stacey Demarco, illustrated by Kinga Britschigi, for my weekly oracle readings.
Our card to guide us for the week ahead is 4. FOCUS (Solar Cycle 4).
2024 is a year for fresh starts, for creativity, healing and social connection. It’s a year for ambitious projects and for getting stuff done.
October is a month for healing in all forms, for learning from the past and letting that help steer you towards your future goals and dreams, and for nurturing your Inner Child with play and self-care.
4. FOCUS (Solar Cycle 4)
This week encourages you to bring your FOCUS back to the simple things in life – Home and Heart.
This is a week for doing an overhaul of your Home space and living/working environments. Does your current environment support you? Does it reflect your tastes and personality? Do you feel safe? Do you feel like you can truly relax and be yourself? Maybe you need to tidy the kitchen and put some fresh flowers or a house plant on the table. Clean out the fridge and grab some healthy groceries. Perhaps clean sheets and some aromatherapy for the bedroom might help.
Or maybe it’s time to find a new place, or do a little renovation or make-over to help your home become more of a sanctuary.
Home is about Heart – relationships – as much as it is about space, objects, colour and form. How is the harmony in your home? Do you need to work on anything to develop deeper intimacy and open communication with the people around you? Are you lonely? Could you invite a friend over (even over Zoom!) or spend more time bringing your space to life with plants, art, music or a pet? Sharing a meal is always a great way to bring positive energies of love and nurture into your home. Who could you share a meal with, or a cup of coffee?
Remember to enjoy the energies of being at home. Be present, be mindful, and relax. Take a bath, light a candle, bake cookies, snuggle on the couch, play your favourite music, connect with who and what you love.
Whatever you can do to make things feel more aligned with your energies is a positive step this week.
There is something powerful in bringing your attention to the moment – to living fully in the presence of a person, a task, an idea. Your focus becomes a sacred act. It can lead to the creation of new things. It can invoke patterns of completion. It heightens flow of inspiration and draws forth synchronicities and magic.
What can you bring your focus to this week?
What most needs your attention?
How can you create a concerted effort to get something started or completed?
This week also supports major decision making and all forms of writing, legal work and signing of important documents.
My Top Tip For The Week Ahead
Make this week a meditation. Let every single thing that you do have the benefit of your mindful focus. Be with the moment. Don’t multi-task. Shut down distractions. Go slower. Stay present. Sit in your heart. Live from love. That’s where your power is.
Crystals to support you this week – Carnelian, Sunstone, Tiger Eye, Peridot, Dalmatian Jasper, Unakite
I was struck by the way that humans make their home wherever they are, as I worked with the energies of this week’s blog. Here I am in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and even though I am a traveller, I have brought some comforts of home with me to transform our cabin.
Naturally, we have a jar of Vegemite. Sometimes you just need Vegemite on toast. I’m all for experiencing the cuisine of the wider world, but gee a taste of home can start my day in a beautiful way.
I have my Planner, a journal and pens, a small travel deck of oracle cards, a mala, and a bag of my favourite crystals. This allows me to write my morning pages, to choose my monthly and weekly cards, and to stay on track with my projects and plans for the year. Each day I carve out a little bit of time for myself to delve into my inner world, and to sit in meditation, just as I do at home. These are the touchstones and habits that have anchored my life for decades, and even on vacation I take comfort from these rituals.
I brought a full printed and annotated manuscript from my editor, a notebook full of plot points, index cards and blu tack, and my laptop so I can work on my book. Right now our cabin looks like a student den, with paper everywhere and stuff stuck all over the wall. With so many days at sea, there is plenty of time for writing and reflection.
Travel binoculars for watching birds and wildlife and landscapes – these have been much used on this trip.
I’ve got clothes (not that many because I favoured paper over practicality, and paper is heavy!), perfume, a little kit of essential oils, cosmetics and my usual massive bag of supplements and medications (now taking much less room because I have consumed over half of them!).
It makes me happy to be able to nest myself wherever we are. Everyone needs a nest, and a little patch of space to call their own, even if it’s only a temporary thing.
On the Planner front, our 2025 edition of the Journeymaker’s Planner is now available at
Amazon USA and Amazon Australia.
Copies will also be available from me directly when I get home to Australia and am able to ship to you via ETSY and our new online store. I promise to keep you updated on that.
And the trip highlight for me so far? Watching huge green turtles swimming and feeding in the ocean right below our Waikiki hotel window, and then swimming in that same ocean with them.
Biggest love, hugs and Alohas, Nicole ✨💗🐢🦋🌴🐠🍹💗✨
PS – Here’s a little peak at how pretty the 2025 edition is… And inside – lots of fairies!
