Making the most of social isolation, quarantine and lockdowns

“Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.”

Earl Nightingale

Lovelies, I know it can be a drag to be stuck at home. It’s been a constant theme in my life for the past thirty years – a side-effect of chronic illness and all the times I have had to self-isolate to avoid infections or where I have been too ill to venture out into the world. As a result I’ve become very comfortable with being in my own space, with amusing myself, getting things done and working from home, profitably, and mostly in my pyjamas.

With the current COVID-19 situation, it’s responsible to slow to threat of this virus by limiting our movements. Staying home makes sense, to avoid infection and to avoid infecting others.

But what to do?

There is only so much Netflix you can watch, only so much wine you can drink, only so much social media you can scroll through.

What if you choose to use your time more consciously?

2020 is a year for pattern-breaking, for dismantling the old and making way for new ideas and new approaches.

You can use these energies now, while you are spending time away from your usual routine, to tackle things you have been procrastinating about.

You can use this time to heal, to rest and recharge.

You can use this time to recalibrate – to move out of busy-ness and into a slower and more meaningful life.

You can use this time to deepen you spiritual connection.

You can use this time to learn or practice a skill or to acquire knowledge.

You can use this time to connect more deeply with loved ones, and with yourself.

You can use this time to think deeply about your own life, and the direction you would like to take as the future unfolds.

Stay tuned. I’ll have some ideas, projects and resources for you next week.
Let’s make the most of the gift that this quiet time can be!
Much love, and a little zazzle of magic, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. Excellent ideas, Nicole. Any ideas how to pull them off while being quarantined with two nine-yr.-old boys who are out of school for FOUR weeks!! I am hoping we all survive each other as well as the Corona-virus!
