We All Need A Little Comfort

As the years pass, I am coming more and more to understand that it is the common, everyday blessings of our common everyday lives for which we should be particularly grateful. They are the things that fill our lives with comfort and our hearts with gladness — just the pure air to breathe and the strength to breath it; just warmth and shelter and home folks; just plain food that gives us strength; the bright sunshine on a cold day; and a cool breeze when the day is warm.

Laura Ingalls Wilder

Hey, Lovelies.

Do you have some comfort in your life?

Maybe you have a cosy bed, and a pillow that cradles your head just right. Or perhaps soft towels in the bathroom are your thing. Maybe it’s a pile of good books and a cup of tea. Or maybe your comfort comes from routine, or the company of loved ones or animal companions. Perhaps it’s staying home when everyone else is out – revelling in space and time for yourself. Or it might be outings, to connect you to nature or a favourite place or activity.

Comfort is different things to different people, but all kinds of comfort have one thing in common. Comfort soothes us. It helps us to relax, to recharge, to feel safe and cared for in some way. It is a moment of calm and nuture that enables us to better face life’s challenges.

A reminder for you – our next free gathering online is today at 10am Brisbane time. You’re invited to join us, and so are your children. It’s a way for us to connect, heart-to-heart, as intuitive and sensitive souls. It’s a way for me to tune you in to the energies of the weeks ahead, and to give you some tips and teachings for dealing with that, and for building both your metaphysical and self-care skills.

Our theme this week is ‘Comfort’

We’ll be talking about what comfort is, and what it means to us, how comfort can restore our energy and resilience, and how we can increase the energy of comfort in our lives. We’ll also do a group meditation to tune us in to the healing energies of comfort.

‘The Comfort – Colour and Cuppa’ gathering will be at 10am Brisbane today – Tuesday 29 September (which may be September 28 where you live). To support people in other time zones we are scheduling these live events at various times throughout the year so you can find one that works for you. It’s completely free to join us, and we’ll be holding this gathering via Zoom. All of the details and the link will be in our Facebook Group, The Journeymakers, prior to the event.

If you’re not already a member you can join here:

I’m looking forward to our discussion and sharing some time with you.

Love, hugs, and comfortable lounge chairs, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. My father passed away today and I was looking for a little comfort which I often find here. It makes it extra special as I grew up about an hour away from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s birthplace and devoured her books as a child. Thank you.

    1. Sally, I just saw your post from 29 September – I’m so sorry to read about the loss of your Dad. Sending you a 🤗 today, as you traverse this big change in your life ❤️🙏
