Doing It My Way

If I have one piece of advice to give you all about what to search for in your quest for What Next, it’s to find where the line blurs between hard work and happiness for you. To find that thing where working hard at it makes you happy, and where you’re happy to work hard at it.

Tom Fletcher

Hey, Lovelies.

Last night I was chatting with an entrepreneur friend of mine, and I mentioned that I had been busy all day packing up orders for my Inner Circle members.

‘Oh my God, Nicole,’ my friend said. ‘Why are you doing this all yourself? You should be outsourcing. This should all be automated. You’ll never get to seven figures doing it this way. It’s totally unscalable. You’re insane!’

Later, as I sat at my table choosing crystals for the person whose order I was working on, holding those crystals as I poured love and intention into them, as I wrote a note to the person telling them about the stone and where it had come from and what it was for and how it could help them, as I wrapped each stone by hand, chose a cloth bag that best suited the stone or the person, then added a little extra something to the package, each process taking time and care and love, I thought about that conversation. And I knew I was going to keep doing it my way.

You can’t automate a personalised process. You can’t outsource love and care and connection. I love my community, and I love this process of affirming our connection, and of my capacity to support and encourage them.

I get something deeply satisfying from this process. I get to show my community how much I love and value them. I get to practice my craft, and to share something joyful and meaningful. Does it make more work for me? Yes. Does it mean my days are longer and my team are working harder right now? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes. It’s everything I stand for.

I’m all for building a successful business. But it’s not always about the money. There has to be a little room in my world for love and care and magic. And there’s some of that in every package.

Love and hugs from the Christmas Elf Nicole xx

PS – If you want to purchase one of our gorgeous 2021 Planners you can do that through Amazon USA or Amazon Australia. Meanwhile, I am waiting for my final shipment of Planners to arrive in Australia, which I will be selling on ETSY along with our very special meditation malas. So, stay tuned for that. We’re not launched yet, but it’s not far away!

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. The look in your eyes says it all Nicole.
You don’t even have to say a word.
    It’s there on your face.

So thankful on this Thanksgiving Day in the U.S.

  2. I like your way much better, even tho I’m not in the Inner Circle group. The aghast friend has an attachment to the monetary scorecard that limits her broad view of why the money is not the only priority.
    Much love to all,
    Kate

  3. This is so true, Nicole. I hear of a lot of people burning out in their business because they lost that personal connection to their community as they grew. I think it’s that personal connection that feeds our soul and inspires creativity and as I grow my business I am going to make sure I don’t lose sight of that.

    1. Teresa, I know you’ll keep that connection strong because that’s the kind of person you are. When we start something from love and grow it with love we can find sustainable ways to continue to honor the intentions we had at the beginning ā¤ļøšŸ™šŸ˜Š

  4. Oooh! I love shopping on Etsy and Nicole it made me happy to hear you and your ‘elves’ still have the personal touch. ‘The Personal Touch’ is so very important and sadly is on the endangered list.

    1. We sure do have the personal touch – isn’t that one of the joys of giving? Well, for me it is! Big hugs xx
