Seeing In The New Year, Farm Style!

We love the night and its quiet; and there is no night that we love so well as that on which the moon is coffined in clouds.

 Fitz-James O’Brien

Hey, Lovelies!

It’s New Year’s Eve here in Australia – one of my favourite nights of the year.

It’s not a night where we go out and be social, or stay up til midnight watching televised fireworks. It’s a night where we cook and share a simple but yummy dinner, listen to music, and then have a burning and release ritual and meditation to let go of the old and welcome the new. I then do a healing meditation for my community, for the world, and for the earth.

For us it’s a night of quiet reflection, spiritual practices, and then early to bed. That way we wake up fresh for the first day of the new year. For over 25 years I have done guiding card spreads for myself on New Year’s Day (a New Year Positioning Reading which looks at my soul growth possibilities and opportunities for the year ahead AND the ten card helpful energies spread which you’ll find in my Journeymaker’s Planner.) For Ben and I this is a sacred day of planning and dreaming and thinking about our year ahead as a couple, and also a day where we think about our own personal projects and goals.

It’s rainy this year at the farm, cloudy and cool. Perfect for reflection and soul work.
Know that you’ll be in my thoughts, prayers and meditations tonight.

Much love, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.
