Without a bit of maintenance, almost everything falls apart. Do it often and it’s never a big deal, leave it too long and it’s almost always a huge job, or it goes so far you can’t fix it.
~ Ben Phillips
Hey, Lovelies.
Today’s post is a gentle reminder about the benefits of maintenance.
I’m not talking about updating your computer software, mowing the lawn, changing the oil on something or fixing that loose board.
I’m talking about maintenance for you.
Humans need maintaining, it is so often something that gets left ’til last or overlooked.
Some of that maintenance is stuff you can do yourself – wash hair, wash body, shave, buy clothes that fit, clean teeth, stretch, exercise, take vitamins, eat well, get quiet time, get your insurances up to date, meditate, journal, buy a new pillow, make sure your bed is comfortable.
Some of that maintenance is stuff other people can do for you or with you – haircut or colour, massage, beauty therapy, time at the gym or yoga studio, acupuncture, or whatever else helps you feel better in your skin.
Think about scheduling a visit to your dentist or dental hygienist, book in with a therapist, get your pap smear, boobs checked, eyes checked, hearing checked, bloods done, yearly medical checkup, have that pain or strange symptom checked out, get your tax done, will done, finances in order, find an expert to help you with your problem.
Think about your relationships – anyone you need to call, or spend time with? Any relationships that need mending or extra attention?
What about sleep, rest, holidays and fun? Some of that would be great too. Of course I don’t’ expect you can get this all done in a day, but it would be wonderful if you could find a little time to start planning some of this and adding it into your calendar for the year ahead.
Love, hugs and my intention that you find ways to care for and value yourself in 2023, Nicole xx
