How To Set Up A Crystal Grid for the January 20/21 Supermoon Full Moon Lunar Eclipse

One of the things I have always loved to do is to construct a crystal grid to sit out under the sky and absorb all of the energies from the celestial bodies above, as well as the grounded, cleansing and empowering energies of the earth. I place my working and personal stones within the grid, as well as stones for students and for my future Retreats. I’ll often add jewellery too, including pearls. I may even add my singing bowls to be charged.

Right now, with the approaching Supermoon Full Moon Lunar Eclipse of January 20/21 is a perfect time to capitalise on these energies. Set up your grid any time before the 20th, and leave it out for up to a week. Or if you really want to supercharge and anchor these energies leave your grid set up until February 5 and take it down after the energy of the New Moon.

How to Construct a Simple Grid:

To make a basic grid choose a shape to outline a space – think circle, square, triangle or rectangle. Use crystals to anchor the corners or to outline the circle OR use a central anchor stone and then radiate patterns out from that central stone. Spirals can be great for that. If you create a shape whose centre is empty you can place yourself, any other stones, pearls or jewellery in the centre to be charged up within the grid. Energise the grid first before placing items inside. Feel free to also use shells, leaves and flowers in your grid construction.

Energise the grid by running white light into it. You can do this with your hands, or just visualise a stream of white light from the Universe coming in to activate your grid.

Where to set up your Grid:

If you have the space set the grid up on the ground in your yard. You need open sky above you, or a place where moonlight and sunlight will reach. Make sure it is somewhere secure and safe. You could also set it up on a large rock, on a flat cut tree stump, or on a timber deck or table. Crystals and items that might not like rain or moisture can be placed inside a covered glass bowl, jar or bottle to protect them from the elements.

Don’t have any of those? Fill a tray with sand or rice and build your grid on top of that. Try to avoid using salt as a grid base because it can erode some stones. You can also place your grid on a deck, windowsill or balcony.

Creating a Devotional Crystal from the Supermoon Eclipse Energies

This eclipse is the ‘Night of the Luminous Soul‘. It gifts us the capacity to become calm warriors in our families and communities. The eclipse heralds energies of courage, clarity, determination, resilience, patience and empathy. This can be a crystal you wear, or one you hold or have in your space.  You can also charge up more than one, so that you have a few to work with and choose from.

Method:

You’ll need to create a simple crystal grid. Activate and energise your Grid. Then say a simple prayer to bless the sacred space.

Then place any jewellery or crystals within the grid.

Once you are happy with the placement of crystals and other items, say the following words:

I honour the Moon, the Sun and the Spheres.  I invite the vibration of these Celestial Bodies to Bless and Energise my offerings. I open myself to wisdom, healing and Light.  I open myself to my Path, and welcome the opportunity to be of service. I am ready to be all that I came to this life to be.

Leave the grid in place for a minimum of twenty-four hours, including the daylight hours of January 21.  

Once you have pulled the grid down, your crystals and jewellery are ready to use.
