“Hope is important. It allows you to survive.
But there’s a point where tough love is required if you want to change.
Action is necessary. It allows you to live.”
~ Brittany Burgunder
You know it.
You KNOW when something’s a problem.
On some level you know it, even though you might be in denial, even though you might rank it as insignificant, as something you’ll deal with ‘later’, or as something you can hide from yourself and others.
Maybe you’ve been avoiding this thing for years. Maybe you’ve been blocked about it. Or maybe you just weren’t ready.

That’s okay. The energies this week support self-love, and stepping into that place of responsibility where you can decide to honour and take care of yourself and your needs.
This week it will be hard to hide from those deeper truths in your life. This week supports you facing that truth.
Tough love might be needed. Tough love can cause short-term discomfort, because it stops you making excuses for your behaviour or situation. Tough love demands that you become accountable. Tough love demands that you hold yourself to a higher standard, that you take ownership of your life, and act to make positive changes.
Tough love takes you out of your comfort zone, and moves you from stuck back into flow again.

If something needs to change in your life, look yourself in the eye this week and have a conversation out loud about that thing. Bear witness to yourself and your needs. Seek help. Take action. Do the thing. Even if it scares you or makes you uncomfortable.
Especially if it scares you or makes you uncomfortable.
Whether you’re addicted to trash-talking yourself, putting other people and their needs before your own, or engaging in harmful behaviour (this isn’t just risky stuff like drugs or unsafe sex – this is also drinking too much wine each night, staying up til all hours playing mindless games on your device, failing to act on piling-up debt, or being afraid to go to the doctor for the problem that you hoped would go away but hasn’t yet, or neglecting your physical or emotional well-being, regularly eating something you know doesn’t agree with you), people often stay stuck there because it is familiar – it becomes a pattern, and once it’s automatic y stop thinking about whether what you are doing really works for you.
This week you can see what you need to change, and you can have that hard-but-necessary conversation with yourself. More than that, you can decide to change, and you can act on that, breaking the pattern and allowing yourself a new and better direction.
If what you’re doing isn’t working, don’t keep doing it. Choose tough love instead. Go to the gym. Get your taxes in order. Create a repayment plan. Seek help. Go to the doctor. Do the thing that you know will change it, or fix it, or that will bring it out into the open where it can heal. You’ll be glad you did.
Holding you in my prayers and meditations, Nicole xx
