Focus On Home and Connection – Monday Oracle 11 December 2023

 

I know this world is far from perfect.

I am not the type to mistake a streetlight for the moon.

I know our wounds are deep as the Atlantic.

But every ocean has a shoreline

and every shoreline has a tide

that is constantly returning

to wake the songbirds in our hands,

to wake the music in our bones,

to place one fearless kiss on the mouth of that new born river

that has to run through the center of our hearts

to find its way home.

Hello, Lovelies!

This Quarter I am using The Shaman’s Dream Oracle by Alberto Villoldo and Colette Baron-Reid with artwork by Jena DellaGrottaglia, for my weekly oracle readings.

Our card to guide us for the week ahead is 1. A TIDY HOUSE – CLARITY AND ORGANIZATION

2023 is a year for change, creating solid foundations, and for spiritual journeying. It’s a year for personal growth, and for clarifying who you are, what you want, and why you are here.

December is a month for anchoring love and light, for rest and reflection, for moments of joyful connection, and for planning our projects and dreams for the year ahead.

1. A TIDY HOUSE – CLARITY AND ORGANIZATION

A TIDY HOUSE encourages you to bring your focus back to the simple things in life. Does your environment support you? Does it reflect your tastes and personality? Is it clean and comfy? Do you feel safe? Do you feel like you can truly relax and be yourself?

This is a week for doing an overhaul of your home space and living/working environments. Maybe you need to tidy the kitchen and put some fresh flowers or a house plant on the table. Perhaps clean sheets and some aromatherapy for the bedroom could help. You might feel inclined to place some seasonal decorations, or to do a little festive baking.

Or maybe it’s time to find a new place, or do a little renovation or make-over to help your home become more of a sanctuary.

Home is also about relationships as much as it is about space, objects, colour and form. Are you lonely? Could you invite a friend over (even over Zoom!) or spend more time bringing your space to life with plants, art, music or a pet? Sharing a meal is always a great way to bring positive energies of love and nurture into your home. Who could you share a meal with, or a cup of coffee?

Remember to ENJOY the energies of being at home. Be present, be mindful, and RELAX. Take a bath, light a candle, bake cookies, snuggle on the couch, play your favourite music, connect with who and what you love.

Wherever you live, A TIDY HOUSE reminds you that you are deeply influenced by your home space. Whatever you can do to make things feel more aligned with your energies is a positive step this week.

Choose one small area of the home where you can make a difference. Tidy, decorate or enhance. Feel how the shift in energy also creates a shift in you.

It’s been a funny week for me of nightly outpatient antibiotic IVs (I’ve been receiving treatment for a hospital-acquired infection) and then days of clients, packing parcels and working through my ‘it’s almost Christmas’ to-do list.

Amid the madness I have managed to find windows of time to make pickles and chutneys, rum balls, fudge and a most excellent banana cake.

It’s funny how being in the kitchen always brings me back to a sense of peace and calm in the world. It truly is my happy place. 

I’ve also been taking five minute breaks between clients to play with using different art supplies with the 2024 Mandala colouring book. My latest obsession is paint pens, and I have been having a lot of fun with those. It’s amazing how a quick five-minute creative break can refresh you!

Here at the Treehouse we’re experiencing moody summer weather with hot days and afternoon thunderstorms, and some wonderful overnight showers. The air smells of sea spray, magnolias and jasmine, and freshly mown grass, and then periods of petrichor  – oh, it’s glorious! Goodness, I love living here on the Sunshine Coast.

I’m still meditating daily with my carnelian palmstone. I find myself reaching for my stone often during the day, and it gives me immeasurable comfort. They are our crystal of the year for 2024, and you can buy these from me in my Etsy store.
