“The smallest step in the right direction can end up being the biggest step of your life.”
— Naeem Callaway
Hello, Lovelies!
This Quarter I am using the The Rooted Woman Oracle by Sharon Blackie, illustrated by Hannah Willow, for my weekly oracle readings.
Our card to guide us for the week ahead is 10 – THE CROSSROADS
2025 is a year for pattern breaking, deep healing, mysticism and new directions.
September energies are all about Healing Your Broken Path – reclaiming your gifts, dreams and deeper truth, embracing your own style and direction, and trusting in yourself and the Universe.
🌟 Monday Oracle: Trusting the Shift
This week the energies bring us to a crossroads. For many of us, this moment arrives with mixed emotions — fatigue, doubts, and old fears rising to the surface right as something big begins to shift.
Maybe you’ve carried a dream for years but have been too scared, too busy, or too uncertain to take that next step. Maybe you’ve lost faith in yourself, or in life, after so many delays and struggles. Maybe you worry that you won’t be able to cope with what’s ahead.
And yet… underneath all that, there is a stirring. A sense of change. A nudge from the Universe that something is moving now — something bigger than you, something outside your control, something that can only bring you closer to the life you were meant to live.
🌱 What This Week Brings
✨ A crossroads – where old stories and fears confront new possibilities.
✨ Long-held dreams awakening – the ones that never really left your heart.
✨ A surge of hope – even if you can’t yet see where the path is leading.
✨ Trust without proof – the call to believe in yourself, your dreams, and the Universe even when you have no evidence to back it up.
This is not about forcing or fixing. It’s about saying “yes” to the shift, even when you can’t see the outcome.
🌙 How to Work With This Energy
-
Rest first. Honour your fatigue and tend to your body and spirit. You don’t need to push — you need to gather strength.
-
Name your fear. Write down what you’re most worried about. Then, next to it, write the opposite truth — the possibility you hope for.
-
Reconnect to your dream. Spend a few minutes each day imagining it as real. How would you feel living it? Let that energy guide you.
-
Step forward gently. Take one small action toward your dream, no matter how imperfect. The Universe meets you in motion.
💫 Reflection Prompt
What dream is calling me back, and what small step can I take this week to show I am ready for it?
✨ Closing Thought
This is a week to trust the shift. You don’t need to know exactly where the path leads — only that it is carrying you toward something better.
Good things are coming. Believe in yourself. Believe in your dreams. Believe in the Universe.
🌟 Top Tip of the Week:
Name your fear, then name your hope.
This week, write down one thing you’re afraid of about the future. Then, right beside it, write the opposite — the best outcome you can imagine. Each time fear arises, gently redirect your thoughts to that hope. It’s a simple act, but it keeps your energy aligned with possibility.

Here at the Treehouse I’ve just celebrated another birthday.
I did it quietly. A friend came to stay for a few days and we spent time working on our individual writing projects, interspersed with snacks, chats over cups of tea, and shared meals. Writing is a solitary pursuit, so work in parallel with a friend was just lovely. I was off social media, and away from the news and wider world as I immersed myself in storyland. Oh, so good! I’ll catch up on everyone’s birthday messages in the next few days as I ease myself back out of writing retreat and into work mode, so please don’t think I have been ignoring you.
I also enjoyed a succulent birthday Chinese meal with my family, including a crazily rich chocolate-brownie-mousse cake (home-made) for dessert. It was great to go off-diet for the day and eat whatever I wanted, but I’m back on my Lyme friendly foods again now after that little blowout.
My horrible chemo drugs have done smashingly well at reducing my sarcoidosis, so I’ll be back on them again in October, but for September it’s back to my Lyme regime, which makes me feel awful but nowhere near as bad as the drugs I’ve just been taking. I am grateful to be spared having my head in a bucket and arse on a toilet for the next month so I can rally physically and mentally. Knowing I’ll have to do at least one more round of the nightmare drugs is made easier knowing that they are actually working, but gee I’m glad to have a little break from them.
I also gifted myself time to do a birthday card spread for myself, and to journal and meditate around my year ahead. It’s deeply meaningful for me to do this each year, and I’m excited by the direction my next year on the planet offers – a chance to dive much more deeply into my spiritual journey, and my craft.
Wherever you are at, I hope you are able to embrace the energies of the week ahead, and walk through a door of shift for yourself. It’s time, and I know you’re ready for it.
Sending love and encouragement, Nicole 🙏🏻😊✨💖
PS – Here’s my weekend work spot as I did the next round of edits on my book. Yes, I really do use all that stationery – as well as a colouring book (offscreen) for those thinking spots where you need time to let an idea percolate.

Nic I wanted to let you know how much this reading helped me last week. Out of the blue we got an offer on our house. It’s an emotional decision as it’s our first house and we’ve been there almost 20 years, but it’s time to move on. Your wisdom helped me have courage, trust and take the leap. Appreciate you so very much xx
Oh, I’m so happy to hear that Kate. Much love to you xx
Happy Birthday Nicole!!! 🌼🔮🧚
Thank you Sally! 💖😊✨
I am pleased to read that those horrible drugs are in fact helping also thanks for another wonderful post
Thanks, Joanne. I am so grateful that they are working, even if they are horrible. It makes their horribleness more bearable, knowing that are actually doing something positive.
Dear Nicole, happy belated birthday from me! I am very pleased to read about the working of the horrible drugs. I just realized, I’ve been following you for the past 12 years or so. Thank YOU for so much encouragement and positiv energy!! All the best!
Thank you, dear Cecile. Glad to have you here to share the journey with me! 💖
