Lunch As Medicine

Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.
― Hippocrates

Hey, Lovelies.

I had a medical appointment yesterday that kind of sucked. I am about to go back onto a drug regime to treat late-stage lyme and co-infections, in order to help prevent further heart damage. Last time I was on those kinds of meds I was every kind of sick and miserable for months (years even).

So, Ben and I went to a cafe and ate dumplings and drank jasmine tea out of tiny cups. Because who knows how I will feel in a few days time.

It was raining and cold, and the place we went to was empty except for us. We could have been anywhere in Asia, and it felt like a holiday, even though we were just down the road from home. And do you know what? I was happy.

I’ve got this.

Love, hugs, and the medicinal magic of dumplings, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. Hi Nic, good luck with the downside (of your treatment regime), that kinda sucks!! – The upside is that you have hopefully lightened your work load and doing more of what you love!!! I just want to mention that you are a great teacher and an awesome writer, love ya! Paul

  2. I like the way you make the best of every day and every Situation. Even of bad days with bad news. Today I felt lonely and sad and kind of wrong, I was full of self pity. When I read this post I realized what I really need is a new, more positive mindset. Less comparing, less complaining. More gratitude and focus on the good things in my life.
All my best wishes for your health!
    Caroline
