The chief beauty about time is that you cannot waste it in advance. The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect, as unspoiled, as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your life. You can turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose.

Hello, Lovelies!
This Quarter I am using Angels and Ancestors Oracle Cards by Kyle Gray, with artwork by Lily Moses, for my weekly oracle readings.
Our card to guide us for the week ahead is AUTUMN – Release the Old and Rest.
2023 is a year for change, creating solid foundations, and for spiritual journeying. It’s a year for personal growth, and for clarifying who you are, what you want, and why you are here.
AUTUMN – Release the Old and Rest.
May is a month for loving our wounds, healing and releasing what is broken, finding the blessings or wisdom from our wounds, and moving on. It’ a time for radical self-acceptance, forgiveness and compassion for self and others.
It’s a week for being strategic, for working out what is essential, what can be let go, what needs to heal or change, and what will be your next move. It’s okay to become a new version of yourself. In fact, it’s encouraged!
Sometimes, in order to do that, we need to release some of our old dreams, old ideas, old connections, old stuff. We also need to recognise patterns of thought and behaviour that don’t support us, and identify feedback loops and endless cycles of stuckness that keep us trapped, limited and small. This week it’s time to think carefully about what’s not working for you, and what needs to change. Create a list so you can identify what needs attending to, and so you can tie up loose ends. You may need to let some stuff go, or leave some stuff forever unfinished so you can move on to things that are more aligned with who you are now. It’s also time to work out what your main priorities for action will be, not just for the week ahead, but for the next few months, or even for the entire year.
AUTUMN – Release the Old and Rest reminds us that we are a work in progress – life is about learning, growing, evolving. Who we were ten years ago is not who we are now, and who we are today is not who we will be tomorrow. Life is a constant dance of choices, change, letting go of some things and welcoming the new energy of others.
My Top Tip For The Week Ahead:
Remember, you don’t need to finish everything, or stick with decisions, commitments or ideas that once served you but that don’t fit so well anymore. Sometimes it is better to leave something unfinished, because to put more energy into it would move you further and further out of alignment. Give yourself time to feel into things this week. You’ll know what needs to stay, and what needs to be let go.

That lumpy start I got off to on my new Lyme drug regime? It just kept going downhill last week to the point where my doctors have finally agreed that a brutal regime of meds may not be the way forward for me.
Hopefully this week, now that I am off the worst of the drugs, I will begin to feel more human again. Meditation and herbal tea have got me through these last hard days – that and lots of hugs and cuddles from Ben and the pupsters. April – my quiet client-free month of having time to think, plan and make big changes did get quite hijacked by health stuff, but that’s life. I do have a plan, written in my morning journal, and scribbled through the pages of a Lego Pirate Ship instruction book, and I can now build on that to make the changes that need making. I’m ready. It’s time.
I’ve also been going to bed REALLY early, and staying in bed later in the mornings. That’s a major shift for me from my 4am get-ups, but it feels good for right now. I’ll keep going gently with this body of mine, until we figure out whether this is temporary or permanent.
In other news, I have turned the walls of my writing room into a living breathing mudmap of my current fiction work-in-progress. It’s what I used to do back at high-school and university. It feels good to be the Queen of blu-tack, post-it-notes and hand-drawn maps, and I feel joy every time I walk past, or add to the collection.
Back to work for me this week, but differently, and more sustainably. Hooray for that.
Love, gentle happiness, mugs of herbs and afternoon naps, Nicole xx
Lego Pirate Ships sounds interesting, can we have a picture (with Captain Ben in his pirate outfit and you wearing your eye patch) when you are finished?
So many of your post speak to me and feel like they were written for me, for that I thank you
You don’t know me but much of what you’ve written today has given me strength. My heart has felt so broken and I’ve been in such emotional pain I’ve wondered how I would get thru all the things I need to do. The message today helped me. Thank you
Big hugs to you, Mary. Holding you in my prayers and meditations xx
