It’s Lyme Time!

“What to do if you find yourself stuck in a crack in the ground underneath a giant boulder you can’t move, with no hope of rescue? Consider how lucky you are that life has been good to you so far. Alternatively, if life hasn’t been good to you so far, which given your current circumstances seems more likely, consider how lucky you are that it won’t be troubling you much longer.”
― Douglas Adams, The Original Hitchhiker Radio Scripts

I’m really grateful.  I’ve had four glorious days of feeling pretty much human. Almost normal.  No great pain, no vomiting or diarrhea, none of the horrible things that seem to categorise much of being treated for Lyme disease and other various co-infections.

Well, kiss that goodbye. Yesterday I rolled from one high dose antibiotic to another, and suddenly it’s not pretty.

I won’t bore you with the details. Let’s just say one moment I was doing okay and the next minute it was a rapid downhill.

Suffice to say I feel like I am dying. Look like I am dying.  Smell like I am dying.

Brain’s just not working well enough for me to write anything pretty or useful for you.

And don’t even talk to me about food.

I’ll do my best to be back on deck as soon as I can.  But for now I am a bio-hazard.

Oh well.  C’est la vie…

I can do this!

And anyway…

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. Only just catching up with your blog Nicole. What you have been through. I hope that by the time you read this that battle is over and the strength of the awfulness was the start of the antibiotics working and the disease fighting with you.. and that you are winning. It sounds so awful ( I read your post from Feb this evening about it). I think Lyme is very rare in the UK so I don’t know a lot about it. Sending rose light. I don’t know why that’s just what I feel. with love Gabs

  3. Doesn’t this damn Lyme disease know that you have stories and blog posts to write?!? Well, the fact that you are still writing every day says it ALL. Thank you for showing what it means to live with grace and grit. With you on your journey and sending you love and support. —Nicole

  4. You have the strength to get through it this time as you have in the past. I’m with everyone else, urging you to hang in there and wait for this particular horror to pass. Rest, look after yourself and know that this is just a part of the journey, albeit a nasty one that you would much rather not have to deal with. I know you won’t give up, and you have supporters all over the place sending their love and energies straight to you.
