Don’t forget to cheer for yourself, when you reach the finish line

Hey, Lovelies.
2854. That’s how many words I need to write this morning to meet my 50 000 word target for NaNoWriMo on this last day of November.
I can’t quite believe it.
In the midst of being so busy with end-of-year stuff, a full calendar, and family members needing extra support, I have hauled myself out of bed an hour earlier every day, and sat at my desk to write until 6am. Today, I won’t leave my desk until I hit my target.
When I started I wasn’t sure I would be able to make it. So, I stopped thinking about the big goal and instead I chose to focus on writing every day. Some days I did more, some days I did less, but I showed up and did SOMETHING every day.
50 000 words isn’t the end of the story. So I plan to keep showing up at my desk every day until my story is done, because I am in love with this book and I want to see what happens next.
Early next year, after a good rest, I will get back to working on my memoir, but this little story that came from nowhere has given me a joy I haven’t had from writing in years. I look forward to getting it done, getting it edited, and then putting it out into the world.
Hooray for that, hooray for me, and hooray for NaNoWriMo.
Love, and furious typing fingers, Nicole xx

You are my inspiration, thank you .
Good luck and well doneπππππ
Thatβs awesome that NaNoWriMo has been so joyous for you! I signed up to do it for the first time this year and cried when I hit 50,000 words yesterday!! Iβm crazy proud of myself as I went into it with quite low expectations. I look forward to reading your book xx π
Congratulations on re-igniting your (writing) passion, also a second (early!) congratulations on 5 million hits on your website, you have achieved this through many challenges, including moving, family and health challenges, awesome work – love Paul
