The Gifts of Silence and Simplicity- Monday Oracle 25 August 2025

“My personal hobbies are reading, listening to music, and silence.”
― Edith Sitwell

Hello, Lovelies!

This Quarter I am using the The Rooted Woman Oracle by Sharon Blackie, illustrated by Hannah Willow, for my weekly oracle readings.

Our card to guide us for the week ahead is 9 MOOR – Silence and Simplicity

2025 is a year for pattern breaking, deep healing, mysticism and new directions.

August energies are all about healing the mess – facing the things that need fixing, and then gently parenting yourself to get them done, or finding someone to help you or do it for you.

🌿 Monday Oracle: Silence & Simplicity

Theme: Healing the Mess by Coming Back to Stillness

This week’s card whispers a gentle truth: sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is to stop. To turn down the volume on the world and turn inward to the quiet places of your soul.

We live in a culture that glorifies busyness and distraction. Our minds are crowded with notifications, endless to-do lists, and the noise of other people’s opinions. But healing doesn’t happen in the noise. Healing happens in stillness.

🕊️ The Gift of Silence

Silence isn’t empty—it’s full of presence.
When we sit in silence, we make space for our emotions to surface, for our intuition to speak, and for our soul to breathe again.

This week, give yourself the gift of quiet:

  • Step away from social media for an hour (or even a day).

  • Let yourself sit in meditation, even for five minutes.

  • Listen to the wind in the trees, the hum of the birds, the sound of your own breath.

🌸 The Beauty of Simplicity

Simplicity restores balance. It strips away what is unnecessary and brings us back to what really matters.

Try creating a sacred basket or grab bag this week with your soul-soothing essentials:
✨ Your favourite oracle or tarot deck
✨ A crystal that grounds you
✨ A journal and pen
✨ A candle or incense
✨ A nourishing book

Having these treasures in one place makes it easier to step into stillness, even on busy days.

🌿 Solo Soul Time

Sometimes the best way to reconnect with ourselves is to be gently alone. Think of it as sacred solitude.

Take yourself on a quiet outing this week:
🌱 Visit a park, hiking trail, or garden centre
📚 Wander a bookstore or library
🧵 Browse a fabric shop or bead store
☕ Sit in a café with your journal or sketchbook

Being with yourself, doing what nourishes you, is one of the purest forms of self-care.

✨ Reflection Prompt

Where can I simplify my week, and how can I create more silence in my daily life?

💛 Closing Thought

Silence is not absence. Simplicity is not lack.
They are the doorways back to peace, clarity, and healing.

This week, may you find time to step through those doorways and return to the still, sacred place within you.

🌟 Top Tip of the Week:

Simplify to heal.
Choose one pocket of your day to be technology-free. No phone, no TV, no chatter. Just you, your breath, and whatever simple ritual nourishes you most — journaling, a walk, lighting a candle, or sitting quietly with tea.

Quiet time isn’t wasted. It’s where your soul restores itself.

I’ve been oscillating between managing okay and feeling very tired and unwell this past week, as the toxicity of this current drug regime starts to affect my health in not-so-great ways (7 days left and counting!) so life has slowed right down for me. In some ways, that’s been a gift. It’s reminded me of the importance of quiet, of choosing simplicity, and of finding comfort in the smallest of rituals. I’m measuring my days in cups of tea, small achievable tasks, frequent rests, the steady rhythm of my pen on paper or the tippy-tap-tap as I tease out words on my laptop, and the healing hush of the treehouse. These little things, though ordinary, feel like soul medicine.

Of course, Rufie the Red has been right by my side, insistent that rest is best. He curls at my feet, nudging me into naps when I’d rather push on, teaching me that slowing down is not weakness but wisdom. Even in the tiredness, I’m grateful: for these gentle moments of stillness, for the kindness of friends who check in, and for the chance to remember that healing doesn’t always happen in great leaps. Sometimes it’s found in the quietest of breaths, the simplest of days, and the love that holds us steady through it all. 🌿✨

And now I want to turn this to you, dear friend. Where can you simplify, create quiet, or let yourself be gently cared for this week? What small rituals bring you back to peace, or help you feel nourished when life is too loud? Especially when life is busy or everything feels like it’s too much. Give yourself permission to claim those moments. They’re not indulgences — they’re the soul’s way of steadying itself. May this week gift you the stillness and simplicity your heart most needs. 🌿💛

With love and quiet blessings,
Nicole 🌿

Rufie Dog has been my constant companion, and as he is an expert in napping, I am paying close attention to what he can teach me!

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.
