Abundance, Joy and Hard Work – Monday Oracle 12 August 2024

“You can’t get there by bus, only by hard work and risk and by not quite knowing what you’re doing. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover will be yourself.”

— Alan Alda

Hello, Lovelies!

This Quarter I am using the Sacred Destiny Oracle by Denise Linn for my weekly oracle readings.

Our card to guide us for the week ahead is ABUNDANCE.

2024 is a year for fresh starts, for creativity, healing and social connection. It’s a year for ambitious projects and for getting stuff done.

August is a month for celebration and connection. Make sure to spend time enjoying life, and all your life has to offer. It’s a great month for socialising, romance, building connections and networking, and for creative projects and actions that help build a positive future.

ABUNDANCE

This week helps set you on a path to success and abundance – whatever that might mean for you. It’s a week of unexpected gifts, opportunity, abundance and flow. Begin by being happy. Live with gratitude and appreciation for the things in your life that you enjoy, especially when they relate to that glimmer of joy that certain things provoke.  For example, if you want to be a writer, open to the joy of the wonderful books you have read and how they made you feel. Explore book stores, not to be overwhelmed by how many people are already in print, but because you LOVE books and stories, and shops full of delicious reading adventures.

Find more of what excites you and be grateful for that. Involve yourself with thoughts and activities that align you with the things you love and can happily spend time doing.

All of this positive energy begins to make you magnetic to more energy just like it!

The more we honour, appreciate and are grateful for things, and the more we deposit positive energy into our Universal Energy Bank Account, the more attractive and magnetic we become to aligned thoughts, ideas and opportunities.

It’s a sensational week for creativity and inspiration, but if the Muse hasn’t whispered in your ear yet, it doesn’t mean she won’t! It just means that you’re not charged up enough yet. You are responsible for building that energy and enthusiasm. Stay open. Expect ideas to start coming but don’t be anxious about it. Don’t force it, or push yourself into feelings of panic or lack.

Understand that ideas will come from left field, and may not be what you had originally expected. A friend of mine who loves to quilt now teaches quilting classes and has opened a shop dedicated to quilting and fabrics. She’d planned to make quilts for a living but this new business suits her skills much better and gives her that vital people contact she so enjoys. Another friend who enjoyed computers and programming, and has a natural gift for explaining complicated things in simple ways, has now been inspired to create an IT business where people come to your home to give you tuition in software and hardware, tailored to meet your needs. Your idea may be about to have its moment too.

Know that inspiration is not enough. You’ll still need to put in some effort. Hard work will get you there – so get to it!

Trust the ideas and solutions that come to you this week. There’s gold to be had in your thoughts, feelings and ideas.

My Top Tip For The Week Ahead

This is no time for procrastination. Face your problems. Even more importantly, face your DREAMS! Don’t put them off any longer. Whatever it is you want to create, change, fix, heal, do, or acquire – this is a wonderful week for looking that sh*t fair in the eye and finally tackling it. You may be amazed at what comes from a small dose of personal courage.

Well, it has been another very mediocre week of sleep and wellbeing for me, which is frustrating. I’d love to be brimful of zest and vigor, instead of wrung out and miserable, but it is what it is. I’ve been looking after myself, going slow, and having some very early nights to make up for all the hours I am awake when I would much rather be asleep.

I’m off to a conference later this week, so I am hoping I will be able to pace myself to get the most out of the event but still get enough rest. It’s a balancing act, but I am going to try my best, and I also know myself well enough that if I start to move into exhaustion I’ll just bow out and put myself to bed for a few hours or a few days.

Someone much younger than me was telling me a few days ago how it must be impossible to live with chronic illness, or bursts of extreme illness. How I must wish to be ‘normal’, they said. And why wasn’t I trying harder to be well? This is from a person who has not yet known any kind of injury, serious illness or disablement.

So many people I know, myself included, were like that once too. But that was when I was still very young. I’ve had health issues since I was fourteen. It’s pretty much all I’ve known since then.

I’m not alone in this. There is a veritable army of warriors dealing with invisible illness. You may be one of them. If you’re not, do you realise how many people limp through life, but still love their lives? How many people raise kids, work at jobs, look after pets or gardens or elderly parents, study and complete degrees or doctorates, win Olympic medals, all while dealing with mental health, physical health and injury issues, disability and limitation? People who may have tried many things to manage, heal or improve their lives, but where their baseline will never be one of perfect wellness, health and fitness.

My life is far from perfect, but I am alive, and able to live and to do things and be with people that matter to me. There are good days and bad days (and bad nights!), but it’s still a beautiful life. A good life. My life. And it isn’t less than, just because I have some extra things to deal with. I am not less than, or less lovable, or worthy, just because I have diminishment.

In fact, I am certain that dealing with illness has made me a better person, a kinder one – more patient, more empathetic, more compassionate.

I’ll be thinking of these things as I go off to my writing conference this week. It’s made me determined to create more characters like those of us who are hiding in plain sight, dealing with big health things, chronic illness and disability as a normal part of our lives – even as we live, and love, and go about our days.
Are you one of that silent army of those with invisible illness, or someone whose illness or disability is front and centre in your life?

You’re my people! I see you. I love you. I value you.
I am sending huge love to you, and cheering you on.
There is always a place for you at my table, and in my heart, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.
