Hello, Lovelies!

This Quarter I am using the Sacred Power Reading Cards by Anna Stark, illustrated by Louis Dyer, for my weekly oracle readings.

Our card to guide us for the week ahead is COMPASSION

2025 is a year for pattern breaking, deep healing, mysticism and new directions.

April is a month for connection to heart and home, to finding the sacred in the ordinary, for focusing on what matters most to you.

 

COMPASSION

This week we’re encouraged to make choices that support our wellness, physical and emotional comfort, and self-care. Having compassion and love for ourselves, and meeting our own needs is an important priority now.

This might mean tidying up, exercising or eating better.

For some people what will be needed most this week is early nights.

For others it might be a massage, or spending time on personal maintenance – you know; having a manicure, getting your hair done or buying new clothes. A little strategic pampering can go a long way this week.

What you might need more is a walk on the beach, a night staying up late listening to your favourite music, or a trip to the movies. Feeding your soul is important too!

You might even need to do some unpleasant things that will ultimately benefit you, such as going to the dentist, getting your will made or seeking legal advice.

Whatever you decide, make choices that support you and help you to feel nourished, loved, uplifted and cared for – especially for all of you who spend the majority of your time looking after everybody else.

This is a week to meet your own needs.

This can be especially hard for empaths, intuitives and highly sensitive souls, because we are naturally wired to be aware of the needs of others, and to help wherever we can. In helping others we often forget to take care of ourselves. Often, it also makes us pleasers – where we put the happiness of others before our own, because we think that’s what love is.

Let’s get that sorted, shall we?

Step One

Tune in to yourself right now. How are you feeling? How much energy do you have? What are you worried about? What are you excited or curious about?

Step Two

What do you need? Are you hungry, thirsty, tired, overwhelmed? Do you have a project that just isn’t getting done? Is there something you said yes to, but in your heart it was always a no? Is there something you said no to, but your heart is secretly longing to say yes?

Step Three

What do you need to do to meet that need? Is it something you can do for yourself? Do you need to stop doing something? Do you need to start doing something? Do you need to ask for help? Do you need to schedule time for this thing, or consult an expert?

Step Four

Go ahead and speak your truth. Ask for help. Say yes. Say no. Make time. Set boundaries. Do the thing. Don’t do the thing. You know what you need. Honour that with your actions, not just your thoughts.

Why Do You Need To Do This For Yourself?

No-one else is responsible for your happiness. No-one is coming to save you, or to sort you out. This isn’t a test to see how much someone truly loves you, because if they loved you they would just KNOW what you need. (Please, don’t ever do that – that’s just screwed up thinking!) This is your job. You already have practice in helping others, encouraging them, guiding them or meeting their needs. So, you know how it’s done.

This week is the perfect time to start owning your needs and meeting them for yourself.

If not you, who?

It’s time. By looking after yourself and your needs you can become more authentically yourself, more empowered, happier, stronger and more resilient. You become a better version of yourself.

My Top Tip For The Week Ahead: 

Give yourself the gift of The Pause. Pause for a moment, before you speak, before you commit, and tune in. Is this what you really want? Go with your gut and your inner wisdom every time!

It’s been a hard, hard week.

Am not even up to talking about it yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Sometimes we have them – those unexpected times of things just going badly.

I’ve coped by making my world small, by being mostly offline, by remembering to breathe.

By doing tiny microbursts of writing. By sipping tea and watching the sky.
By spending time with loved ones.

I have tidied too, and thrown stuff out. All in ten minute or ten item increments. Tiny efforts, but still, something…

It has helped me feel a little less powerless. It gave my hands and head something to do.
I’m okay. Just sick, and sad, and oh so tired.
