Guided Meditation and Advice for Sensitive Souls and Emerging Psychics

As most of you know, I’m psychic, and have been this way to varying degrees all my life. All of us are intuitive – that’s our birthright, and it’s hardwired into us. Even the most disconnected or ‘non-believing’ of us will still have gut feelings or hunches strong enough that we can acknowledge and act upon them.

But some of us have a much greater sensitivity than that. If you have experienced any of the following (not as a result of mental illness, or a drug or illness induced state!) then this post is written for you:

  • lucid dreaming
  • deja vu
  • precognitive dreams or visions
  • awareness about people, places, objects or events that has no rational cause nor explanation
  • an ability to know information about people
  • sensing the energy field around people or places, and having that affect your body or emotions
  • seeing energy, faces, or other images either in your mind’s eye or through your own eyes
  • hearing voices or knowledge not your own – either as a physical sound, or as a voice, knowing or thought that arises inside you that you somehow understand is not your own
  • having remembrance or recognition of past lives
  • being drawn to psychic activities and tools, such as cards, books, courses, modalities and crystals – where you feel compelled to have or work with these, even when your rational mind protests or doesn’t understand
  • sudden recognition of things previously not known to you – such as knowing the names or uses for things outside your profession or fields of study, or knowing your way around a place you have not ever visited
  • sensing, seeing or hearing Guides, Angels, those who have crossed over, and other energetic beings
  • connection with star people, recurring dreams about or remembered incidences of UFO or alien encounters – these are often not threatening or unpleasant
  • recurring dreams for which you have no explanation
  • a strong sense that you are here to do something, to contribute something, to help in some way – this feeling becomes stronger over time until, if you haven’t worked out what it is yet, it becomes almost a sense of despair or desperation
  • saying or writing things without knowing where the information is coming from
  • performing healing, art, writing, music and other creative acts where you suddenly ‘know’ what to do, even if you have never been shown before
  • understanding animals, children or others with no voice to communicate
  • sudden strong emotions flooding over you that are totally unrelated to what is happening right now

I’m sure there’s more that I could add to that list, but that’s a start…

If you’re sensitive energetically then you are bound to be sensitive in other areas of your life.  This is especially true if you are going through a process of spiritual or psychic awakening. At a time of awakening, energies and abilities that have been dormant within you begin to assert themselves in your life.  This can be quite a turbulent and confusing time.

From long experience, these are my suggestions about how to live as a Sensitive Soul as you begin to Awaken.

  • Rest.  When we’re growing and changing, rest is one of the best gifts we can give ourselves.
  • Avoid crowded places such as shopping centres and football games when you are feeling particularly sensitive or energetically vulnerable.
  • Avoid difficult relationships and people who drain, upset or unbalance you.  Limit contact with the crazy-makers in your life.
  • Eat well.  Favour organic foods, with an emphasis on fresh, local produce, with plenty of leafy green vegetables and root vegetables, rice, pulses and yoghurt. Avoid processed food and sugar. Some people may need to avoid meat at this time.  Others may need meat to ground them.  Listen to your body.  If you’re especially sensitive avoid wheat as well.
  • Avoid alcohol, drugs and stimulants.
  • Take a good powdered magnesium supplement.  Your muscles and nervous system use magnesium to relax and it we also burn it like rocket fuel when we are engaging in energy work and psychic activity.
  • Drink plenty of fresh, clean water.
  • Use yoga, qi gong or tai chi to ground you and move energy through your body.
  • Spend time in nature.
  • Spend time on your own, exploring the things that interest you.
  • Avoid chemicals in your cleaning and personal care products. Avoid places that have a strong artificial or chemical energy.
  • Use natural and alternate therapies to help clear and support your body.
  • Meditate.
  • Pray, and talk with God.

  • Trust, look for support and know that things do get easier over time.

August is here, bringing a delicious basket of delights. It’s a month for creativity in all forms and for getting back into the flow of life again. You’ll find a lift in your mood and a clear road ahead so get ready to make the most of the opportunities all around you.Keep that in mind as we look at the gifts of inspiration which the oracle card  Wishing Upon A Star brings us.

Wishing Upon A Star is a sign that a special wish or dream may soon be fulfilled. It’s a sign of favourable conditions and good outcomes. Hands down it’s Grapefruit this week. This sweet, citrusy and uplifting oil freshens your auric field, clears your emotional body of lower vibrations and quells feelings of addiction, especially to sugar and carbs. It also enhances clarity and soul connection.

Apply it to your pulse points at wrist, neck and over heart like a perfume. Place a few drops in your bath water. Diffuse it. One of my favourite uses is as an uplifting and happy-making moment on a stressful day. Put a drop in the palm of your hand, rub hands together and then inhale the aroma. Need an extra boost of encouragement? Try Young Living’s Believe essential oil blend. It’s fabulous in your diffuser while you work, or as a quick pick-me-up with a three-minute meditation. Believe is uplifting and promotes confidence, spiritual connection, clarity and belief in ourselves. It also helps us to let go of fear, doubt and old emotional pain and hurt.  I often use this oil when I am creating, writing or journalling, or working with cards for myself.

Guided Meditation and Activities to connect you to your Heart Wisdom

Our heart, and Heart Chakra, is both a receiver and a transmitter for love and wisdom. The more we open our heart by giving, the more we can connect into receiving. This positive flow of loving energy allows us to live from our hearts as intuitive, connected and compassionate human beings.

Activity:

Our hearts love to love. Here are some suggestions for expressing that energy in the world this week:

  • Play with your pets, or go feed ducks in the local park. Animals are wonderfully intuitive, loving and giving.

  • Make a connection that expands your own heart. Read to a child, or even to an adult.

  • Catch up with friends for a coffee, a meal or a movie.

  • Play tennis with a friend, or go to a yoga class together. Do anything athletic that involves someone else, some encouragement, some sharing and some laughing.

  • Visit or call an elderly relative or a family member who’ll be glad to see you!

  • Spend an hour giving random but sincere compliments to strangers. Tell the waitress you like her earrings or the supermarket attendant that you’re grateful for the skilful way he packs your bag so your bread doesn’t get squashed. Smile.

  • Leave a kind and supportive message on a pillow, tucked into a pocket, or posted on a blog.

  • Volunteer, and care for others in some way. Humans love to give, and to help, and to be united in the energy of that caring.

  • Plan a party or a special event to bring together people that you love, even if that event doesn’t take happen straight away.

  • Join a retreat, workshop or holiday tour and meet new friends. Be open to connecting with others.

Journalling:

Meet your heart on the page. Take a minute or two to calm yourself, by closing your eyes and breathing deeply. Focus on your heart, and build that energy within you. Visualise the colour green. (If you wish, work with the energy of the meditation below before you begin!) When you are ready start writing, starting with the words,

“The thing my wise heart really needs my conscious mind to know is…”

This six-minute meditation will help you tap into your heart’s own intuition and wise guidance, opening you up to deeper and deeper levels of spiritual connection.

Are You Listening To Your Inner Niggles?

This is a week for standing up for yourself, for speaking your truth, for seeking fairness and justice for yourself.

So, this week I’m asking you to pay attention to your niggles.

You know, niggles. Those funny little feelings where something doesn’t sit right with you. Maybe it’s the way your partner talks to their mother, or about their previous girlfriend. Maybe it’s the way your boss puts you down and then laughs it off or praises you so that you’re unsure if you’re overreacting. Maybe it’s the way you think your friend is lying to you because their stories so often contradict each other. Or you haven’t heard back from someone who seemed so keen to catch up. Or something isn’t adding up about a situation or relationship and it is bothering you, even though you can talk yourself out of those feelings.

Niggles.

Niggles are our intuition raising a red flag for us. They show us where to be more aware, where to tread carefully, where to pay better attention.

This week already I’ve had a flood of emails to my inbox from people who are deep into relationships or situations that gave them plenty of niggles, but where they ignored them. Now things are really going wrong. Or they’re being treated less and less well. But there are high stakes now. Marriages, business partnerships, money involved, or children. Nothing has really changed from those first niggles, except that the person can finally name the issues that the niggles were warning them about.

Niggles exist to show you where a situation is in misalignment with your values, wellbeing and highest good.

If you’ve ignored those niggles up to now it’s not too late. This week you’re empowered to act in support of yourself.

If you have niggles tune in. Pay attention. Maybe it’s time to step back, reassess, get help or move in a new direction.

Life is too short to settle for second best.

Hello, Lovelies :)

Take a deep breath, schedule some downtime, and welcome the energies of May. May is a month that empowers you to take the long view of your goals, and to make decisions and take actions that support those goals. We see that it is pointless to put ourselves under endless pressure. May supports sustainable action, and working towards our goals and dreams bit by bit, step by step.

Cards for the Month:

I’ve chosen two cards for May for you: one from Colette Baron-Reid’s The Enchanted Map and one from Steven Farmer’s Earth Magic Oracle. Please note I don’t use these cards in a conventional way, but rather as a stimulus for channeled information.

May opens us up to bigger possibilities. We begin to see how we can build our dream, and who might help us. It’s also a month where we become comfortable with taking the long view on life. No more crash diets or mad deadlines. We understand that building a better life is done one day at a time, and that some of our goals and dreams might take months or even years to come to fruition. That’s okay. It takes the pressure off and allows us to settle into sustainable routines and rhythms. Will it matter if it takes years to earn a qualification, or if our new business starts slowly? Or if it takes time to renovate, lose the weight or rehabilitate an injury. No. What matters is working towards something that we are emotionally invested in and which will move us to a more fulfilling place than where we currently find ourselves. 

It’s a month that supports promotions, career and relationship advancement and bold moves in new directions. Trying new things helps to expand our world. Think travel, whether that’s just around the corner or to the other end of the globe. Think experimenting with new looks, new foods or new hobbies.

It’s a fabulous month for revitalising our bodies and improving our diet. Get moving again with stretches, yoga, hiking in nature or dance.

May encourages leadership,  and supports us with strong gut instinct and intuition for making the best decisions for ourselves, our families, our businesses and our futures.

Essential oils to support your journey?

Young Living’s Believe blend is my choice for May. Containing Ylang-Ylang, Idaho Blasalm Fir, Frankincense, Geranium, Idaho Blue Spruce, Coriander, and Bergamot it has a fresh, uplifting aroma and I find it very grounding and centering. I love this oil for helping me get into a space of self-belief, empowerment and flow. And gee it gets the creative juices flowing! When I am planning my life, visualising my future or working on a project that is important to me Believe is my go-to oil. Usage: A drop over your heart and on your wrists as a perfume and/or on crown of head, back of neck and behind ears work well. So does diffusing the oil. It’s instantly grounding and connecting, and it brings a sense of peace, certainty and confidence.

Want to make your own blend? Each of the following oils will work beautifully on their own but they’ll also make a great combination for diffusing. Bergamot is uplifting, busts stress and helps us overcome self-doubt. Frankincense elevates our mood and promotes spiritual connection and intuition, Ylang-Ylang opens our hearts and minds,  and it helps us to feel deserving and open to abundance, Spruce is a deeply spiritual oil – holding the wisdom of the forest it links our lefts and right brain bringing balance, calm and centering.  To diffuse add 2 or three drops of each oil to your room or personal diffuser. How to nurture your Spiritual Connection

Have you seen the bumper sticker that says ‘We are all Spiritual Beings having a Human Experience’? If you’re reading this, chances are that you are awakening to your own Spiritual Self. I remember when I first began to be aware of my own Spirituality. It was an exciting and difficult time in my life. It was also confusing, because I had little direction and did not know where to begin.

We are spiritual BEings, and when we begin to understand this and to discover and honour this connection to Soul and to Source, miracles begin to happen. There are many ways to nurture our Soul and to develop our Spiritual and Psychic gifts.

We don’t become Spiritual, because we already are. Acknowledging our spiritual aspect is actually just a step towards balance and wholeness in our lives. But how do we do this?

If you want to get fit and healthy, you change your lifestyle and start to exercise. As your body becomes accustomed to these changes it responds by being able to do more, by replacing fat with muscle and by energising you. There’s not much difference with developing spiritual “fitness”. It involves lifestyle choices and committing to exercises that help you to find and strengthen your spiritual and psychic self. Here are some to get you started:

  1. Wake up happy.  If you are not happy keep working on feeling good.  Don’t get out of bed until you are in a better head-space!!!  Stretch in bed, feel good, and surround yourself with white light, drawing it deep into your body. Then seal your aura with a layer of colour, like putting a shell around an egg. Choose the colour you are most drawn to, and know that this will have a benefit for you.
  2. Meditate – meditation is the act of mindful awareness, and it can take many forms.  Here is a simple meditation to try: https://youtu.be/F6eFFCi12v8
  3. Time in nature – Stand with your bare feet on the ground, and feel the energy of the Earth anchoring and grounding your body. Feel the sun, sky or moon and stars above you, radiating cosmic energy that enters from the top of your head.  Sit leaning against a tree and feel its wise energy nurture you. Watch birds or animals and seek wisdom and messages from them.
  4. Journal – Daily writing helps to create a space for self-knowledge, healing and contemplation. More tips on that here.
  5. Daily card or rune – Choose some runes or a deck of spiritual or inspirational oracle or tarot cards. Each day close your eyes, offer up a prayer for guidance and then choose one card and let its wisdom enrich your understanding by giving you new perspectives.
  6. Eat to lift your vibration – The fresher the food, the higher its vibration.  Favour organic, seasonal, minimally processed and cruelty-free.  Drink lots of water too! 
  7. Get plenty of rest – When we are rested we are calmer and more able to hear our inner wisdom.
  8. Say no to drugs, and limit consumption of alcohol, caffeine, sugar and any form of chemical additive.Things that alter your consciousness or hype you up also disconnect you from clarity, reality, soul wisdom and Spirit.
  9.  Be discerning about your choice of sexual partners. Sexual intimacy opens up the energy fields of the parties involved, and there is great transference of energy between you. People who lead a lifestyle of lack of regard for their physical and emotional well-being, who take drugs, consume lots of alcohol, and indulge in promiscuity, negative and violent thinking will have unbalanced energy, or worse. When you have sex you open yourself up to all of this. Is this what you want to knowingly expose yourself, your home and loved ones to?
  10. Call on God, your Ancestors, Angels and Guides. None of us is ever alone. There is love and wisdom all around us, and all we ever have to do is ask, and then stay open to that guidance.  
  11. Trust your intuition – it’s like a muscle, the more you use it the stronger it gets!
  12. Live in the moment – Here is where your power is. Not in the past. Not in the future. Be present in the here and now.
  13. Be brave – love deeply.
  14. Ask for teachers to come into your life – this might be in the form of books, friends, workshops, mentors.  Go with what you are drawn to and discard the rest.
  15. Love and accept yourself as you are NOW!

Managing your vibration – simple techniques for increasing intuition and awareness

Our thoughts and emotions have a strong impact on our vibrationary level. Know what I mean by that?  Try this. Think of a time when someone or something really upset you.  Go back to that time and relive it in your mind.  Feel your body become tense and your heart rate increase.  Feel the anger or sadness or whatever other predominant emotion you may recall begin to flood your consciousness.

By invoking these thoughts and emotions you have consciously lowered your rate of vibration.  Negative self-talk will have the same effect.  Telling yourself that you are dumb, fat or not good enough rockets you into a lower vibration.  So does listening to people who talk down to you or show you a lack of love and respect.  Environments can have the same effect.  Is there anywhere or anyone that makes you feel uncomfortable?  Pay attention to how this affects your life, your thoughts and your actions.

Close your eyes and think of a time when you have felt positive, successful, happy or victorious.  Feel the love of someone close, or of an adored pet.  Imagine a beautiful place or natural environment.  Notice how you begin to feel expansive, calm, happy, joyful and powerful.  This is you moving to a higher vibration.

You have done all of this just with the power of your mind!

Now that you understand how this works, you can begin to consciously work with this power to lift your vibration and help you feel good about yourself.  As our vibration raises we become more spiritually and psychically aware, and can more easily access our intuition and psychic gifts. It also enhances our body’s ability to heal.

Vibrationary triggers

Make a note in your journal of things you can use to help raise your conscious vibration.  Experiment with clothes, colours and food – see how these affect your mood and self-image.  What makes you smile?  Fresh flowers, a happy baby, a hug, a note from a friend, or maybe your favourite music?  Place things in your environment that are positive emotional triggers, and that hold happy memories or thoughts.  Practice telling yourself how much you love YOU (this can be a hard one – but keep trying!) and remind yourself of your good qualities and talents, no matter how small.  Remove items that have negative associations.  Whenever you find yourself feeling anxious or upset or angry STOP!  Breathe….  Centre yourself (see info below).  Remind yourself of the blessings in your life.  Tell yourself that you are powerful and that you choose how you live in this moment.  Breathe in LOVE and breathe out negativity.  It works!

Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed for at least ten minutes.  Sit or lie quietly and focus on your breathing.  Take slow, deep breaths.  Gradually you will feel yourself calming and becoming more relaxed.  You will have an awareness of your body and mind.  This is a meditation technique called ‘centering’.  Centering is all about bringing our conscious awareness back to a place of calm.  Feel your energy within your body.  You may want to visualise it as a white or golden ball of Light within your abdomen or around your heart.

Notice any tensions and consciously let go of them, encouraging deeper and deeper relaxation.  Know that any time, and at any place, you can bring your energy back to a place of centeredness just by taking a few conscious deep slow breaths and imagining that ball of Light within you.  When you are centred you call back all of your scattered energy, and it helps you to remain calm and to be in your Power.  Being centred encourages good decisions and fosters intuition and integrity.

We can’t control the world around us, but we can make conscious choices about what we choose to focus on, and what thoughts we fill our minds with.  It is worth the effort to manage our vibration – feeling good always leads to improvements and new opportunities in the world around us.

The Energies of January – 2018

Hello, Lovelies :)

It’s January! It’s a time for easing ourselves into the energies of 2018, for resting and recharging, for planning and dreaming and for tuning in to what can support us in the year ahead.

Cards for the Month:

I’ve chosen two cards for January for you: one from Colette Baron-Reid’s The Enchanted Map and one from Steven Farmer’s Earth Magic Oracle. Please note I don’t use these cards in the conventional way, but rather as a stimulus for channelled information.

January brings the gift of intuition and the call to spend time on soul work – that energy of creating clarity about where we are in our lives right now, and then thinking about where we want to be, and how far we have already come.

It’s a month to ask yourself the big questions:

Am I happy?

What’s working?

What’s missing? 

Where to from here?

You don’t need to have the solutions yet, but the whole year will flow better if you can tune in and get clear about the position from which you are starting 2018. Don’t worry – this month supports strong psychic and spiritual connection, insights and new perspectives. What’s hidden will come to light so that you can finally stand in your current truth, whatever that might be. It’s also a month where we begin to realise just how strong and resilient we are, and how much we have already dealt with or overcome. 

On a physical level January’s energies invite new healthy routines, positive changes in diet, detoxifying your body, embracing stretching and exercise, and finding new healing modalities and practitioners to support you better throughout 2018.

There is a sense of loving your body and accepting your current situation with grace, even as you may seek  to improve it

The second card I’ve chosen is MOUNTAIN. It’s a card whose primary message is to remind us of our inner strength and resilience, and of the importance of caring for and grounding ourselves.

Mountain encourages us to take the long view of life, to plan and then to take small steps towards our goals. Our crazy busy lives need to slow down. We’ll do best by simplifying everything, and by getting some quiet time to think, dream and integrate change.

All actions and decisions that give you a sense of strengthening your commitment to a goal, that strengthen your physical, emotional or financial position – all of these are well supported in January.

Don’t rush this month. Take your time. Make everything a devotional act. Slow it down and your whole life becomes a moving meditation!

If you read my forecast for October, you’ll know that it’s a month of energies of love, friendship, community and togetherness. It’s also a month for getting creative and for self-acceptance.

How to use Intuition to Access Your Psychic Abilities

We all have intuitive abilities – intuition is a glorious part of our human condition.  Problem is, most of us don’t know how to use it.

Today I’m going to take myself right back to the beginning. I’ll share with you some of the stronger intuitive moments I had before I began to really work with my psychic abilities.  I hope that by sharing them, you’ll be better able to recognise these moments in your own lives.  These aren’t fancy or sophisticated.  These are raw moments that led me to a different decision, understanding or action than if I’d just been coming from my head.

The more you listen to your intuition, the more your body attunes to those messages. It begins to heighten your sensitivity. This then begins to develop your extraordinary sensory perception (ESP) and opens the door to your psychic capabilities. All of the small messages to which we pay attention pave the way for the stronger and more important messages to come.

Intuition and gut instinct communicate with us in so many ways. You might get a flash of strong emotion, an image or a movie in your head, a feeling in your body, a sense of deja vu.  You might have an incredibly vivid dream, or a waking dream. Or, you might just know…

Here are some of my own experiences, as a guide for you.

Some of them weren’t about positive things:

In primary school I woke up in the middle of the night because something was wrong.  I could smell smoke, and I felt very anxious. I padded through the house in my pyjamas, but everyone was asleep and everything was as it should be. I climbed back into bed and all I could think about was a girl I knew at school. I wondered if she was angry with me.  The next morning I found out that her house had burned down in the middle of the night.  They were all okay. And their house was too far away from mine for me to have heard a siren or to have smelled anything.  They lost everything.

Early in high school, I had a creepy feeling about a family friend. While everyone else liked him, he made me incredibly uneasy. To me his eyes looked ‘too bright’ – like a bird’s eyes’s somehow, always watching, and watching too intensely. Although I couldn’t explain it, I felt very unsafe around him, and I felt that he was full of secrets. Nothing could convince me that he was a nice guy. I could ‘feel’ a wrongness about him somehow.  One day when I was left at home alone with him (he was working as a tradesman and I was home sick from school) he tried to sexually assault me. Mum came home unexpectedly, and I made sure after that to never be around him alone.  Years later, he went to prison – convicted of serial pedophilia and child pornography crimes, mostly against very young boys.

During a university break, a friend asked me to travel north to pick up a car she had just purchased.  We would drive it home together, stopping at beaches and interesting places along the way. Initially I said yes. It sounded like fun. But then everything seemed to conspire against me. I couldn’t get time off from work, I got food poisoning, one of my grandparents went to hospital. Nothing was working in my favour. I ended up saying no, but instead of feeling bad, I was flooded with this strange sense of relief. About two days after she left for her journey I got this metallic taste in my mouth, and I could smell something like hot brakes on a car.  Then I had a tumbling sensation, like being on one of those wild rides at a sideshow.  It came and went for about a week, and I found it distressing, but I had no idea what it was all about. Then it just stopped.  A few days later my friend’s parents called to me she had rolled her car on a dirt road heading down  a hill to a remote beach, and been badly injured. She spent months in hospital.


Some of my intuitive experiences have also been about very positive things:

At primary school I sat an examination to win a scholarship to one of Brisbane’s private high schools. Part of the examination required us to write creatively using one of a range of sentences as a starter. The words poured out of me and I just knew they were good. Although I felt unsure about my performance with the rest of the long examination, I was sure about that essay.  I knew it would win me a scholarship.  I felt a great certainty. The day that the letter came, I also knew. I just knew something really good was about to happen.  I felt light and happy all day.  When I came home mum had bought a cake and my grandparents had bought me a posy of flowers. My letter of offer was propped up on the kitchen table beside them. I’d won.

One day I was invited to a costume party.  I had no costume, and no idea where to get one from. I had to drive across town to meet a friend, and for some reason I decided not to take the freeway.  As I drove through a particular suburb, I decided for some inexplicable reason to turn right off the main road.  There in front of me was a massive costume hire place. I felt so very clever! And I found an awesome pirate outfit…

Many of you will already know this story, and it has happened long after I began working with my psychic gifts.  But it shows you how my intuition is still guiding me, even when my mind is somewhere else.  I was shopping, late one scorchingly hot summer afternoon, and I heard a sound like a peeping chicken in the shopping centre carpark. I couldn’t ignore it.  I was compelled to go and investigate, although I needed to get home because I had plans I’d been looking forward to all day. Something made me get out of the car, and go looking for the chicken. Of course it wasn’t a chicken – instead I found a tiny puppy, almost dead from heat and dehydration. I brought him home, and took him to the vet, who didn’t hold out much hope that he would survive the night. He proved everyone wrong, and Bert became a wonderful member of our family.

All you ever have to do with your intuition is listen, and go with what you are feeling or being shown. The more you use it, the easier it gets.  Intuition becomes stronger. Your senses become attuned to more of the flow of Universal wisdom and energy. We are all intuitive. That is our birthright. Like me, sometimes in life, for no apparent reason, you’ll just know.

Often, as people move into a space of psychic awakening, their daily lives becomes a constant stream of intuitive thoughts and experiences. This can be very confronting or disruptive but it settles down quickly the more that you honour and accept this intuitive aspect of yourself.
