Ah, Romance!

A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.

Mignon McLaughlin

Hey, Lovelies.

It’s our 21st Wedding Anniversary today.

I wouldn’t have remembered, except that Google reminded me. We almost never remember. Ben forgets, I forget, and usually when we remember, months have gone by. Sometimes, years have gone by.

Our wedding was low-key too. We eloped to the Solomon Islands. We don’t even have any photos of that day.

Does it matter? No. Not to us. Marriage for us is a verb. It’s an action. We are married, and that’s an active state of being. We don’t need an anniversary to celebrate, or a day that’s ‘special’.

Mind you, our dogs think we should have a celebration, with things dogs would like, like burgers or pizza and frisbees at the beach, or cuddles in front of tv. That doesn’t sound too bad! The romance of us, two crazy dogs, and a whole lot of togetherness.

Love, pizza crusts, and never enough room on the couch, Nicole xx

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

  1. Sooooo sweet…blessed you are both indeed. Osho had a great saying…to rise in Love is a far more intelligent action than to fall in Love! Enjoy your togetherness Sweethearts XOXO
