Welcome, January 2020

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom the emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand wrapped in awe, is as good as dead — his eyes are closed. The insight into the mystery of life, coupled though it be with fear, has also given rise to religion. To know what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their most primitive forms ― this knowledge, this feeling is at the center of true religiousness.”

Hello, Lovelies Happy New Year!

At the beginning of every month, I discuss the energies and gifts of the month ahead and how we can best use them to make our lives satisfying, meaningful and productive.

I also choose a card to support the energies of the month. The deck I am using this year is the Native Spirit Oracle by Denise Linn, and January’s card is GREAT MYSTERY.

Life is a Mystery

It’s a slow start this year. You’re moving into new territory, and there’s no map for where you need to go. That’s okay. Your intuition is your compass, and you’re going to be just fine.

If you could do anything, if you could start over, if you could make a difference in just one area what would it be? It’s time to let go of outmoded ways of seeing yourself. Don’t limit yourself or let other people limit you. Find a fresh path for yourself.

This is a month for dreaming, for possibilities, for planning and scheming and goal setting. Make a vision board. Journal. Make art. Fill yourself with inspiration, learning, and positive role models. Gather to you the things you’ll need to make 2020 a year that honours your true essence. No need to make decisions yet. Just gather your facts and ideas together.

Shake things up a bit. Give yourself a new look, rearrange the furniture, break away from the familiar and try new food, new music, new places. Let go of things that don’t suit you or serve you anymore. Making space invites new things into your life. Update your Resume. Apply for courses and jobs. Leave time for some adventures too.

That’s how you reinvent yourself.

Hi! I'm Nicole Cody. I am a writer, psychic, metaphysical teacher and organic farmer. I love to read, cook, walk on the beach, dance in the rain and grow things. Sometimes, to entertain my cows, I dance in my gumboots. Gumboot dancing is very under-rated.

    1. Hey Barbara – I was using ‘working’ to mean magical practice in this instance. There are a lot of groups and individuals doing continuous Energy Work (be that magical, prayer, healing, whatever anyone can do) to send whever we can to the beautiful land. I am sure there will be another organised Working, but check your local social media sites for anything organised locally (for instance – not close to me – but people were meeting on Glastonbury Tor at 4 today to collectively send energy and healing, our local pagan groups are all including work for Australia whenever we meet. I’m sure you can find something, if not, the Need is so great, anything you can do at any time would be so welcome.

  1. Beautiful words,as always. Thank you. Are you folks ok? The fires are terrifying,I keep worrying about your farm and animals. And everyone else over there two, four, many or no legged. Stay strong, Blessed Be,

    1. Thank you. Our farm is okay for now. But our hearts are breaking for our country. Such devastation. Such annihilation. Yes, the fires are terrifying. And this is what scientists have been warning us about. This is what scientists and climate change experts have predicted – what our own fire services had warned us about and predicted. I’ll have more to say on this soon, when I have gathered my breaking heart together enough to speak clearly and with calm and compassion instead of fury and pain. So many people in the world are experiencing difficulty, loss, grief and dread right now. Thank you for holding us in your thoughts. Much love, Nicole xx

    2. I won’t say I understand how you feel, because I couldn’t dream of such hurt and pain and collective despair, We are holding you close in our hearts, I’m literally just setting up my Working for Australia, you may have seen the posts over on social media, there is a worldwide movement to send healing energy, water, strength and love to the Australian people and land, and all those who dwell upon her. We start in ten mins in the UK.
